Unfortunately, I have some health issues and have to have laboratory tests on an ongoing basis. I’ve had blood drawn on more occasions than I care to remember. My veins are, at this point, difficult to see and«roll». Only a very experienced technician gets good results. Except for when I’m in the hospital, I go ONLY to this place. While it isn’t the nicest space I’ve ever seen, it is clean and adequate. The technician Tracy is SUPERB. She gets in on the first try and I’m in and out in 5 minutes. I no longer have trepidation when I go for blood work. If you need beautiful surroundings, I don’t know what to tell you. But if you want this done well and as painlessly as possible, this is your place. Notice please, that even the ones who gave it one star had nothing bad to say about the work or the technicians. And I just noticed that their reviews were from 2009 — perhaps they fixed the place up since then because it looks fine to me!

After trying without success at 2 other establishments(one a major hospital clinic) to draw blood(i have very small and«jumping veins») success was had at Bio-Reference labs at 251 West 19th Street! The first time was with Tracy. I returned again yesterday and was serviced by Gloria. Both were extremely capable and experienced. They knew how to gather my blood successfully, and left no black and blue scars. I say congratulations, and highly recommend this staff! Marilyn Roberts

Nice lady, I received 70% discount on my Doctors Referral. No complaint. I will go back again.

The technician was very nice and deft with the needle, but as she drew my blood sample I looked at the floor. The tiles by the door and along the wall coated with a deep grey/brown build-up, like Jones from A Confederacy of Dunces was the janitor. Aren’t medical establishments held to a higher level of sanitation? This wouldn’t do for a ghetto bodega, much less a blood lab. The basement digs are shabby enough to begin with, but seriously, I should have walked out. BTW – My HDL, or good cholesterol, is off the charts and my LDL, the bad stuff, too low to measure. See you in 3000!
