The turkey burger was cooked properly, but lacked much flavor. The bun was toasted well but was very dry, even with the herb mayo. But the herb mayo was great. The sweet potato fries were soft and crunchy all the same, probably the best I’ve ever tried. Can’t say I’ll be visiting this place again.

Meh. Burgers. The Beautiful Morning burger was good. Don’t feel the need to go back. Bareburger is better.

A bit pricey, but delicious burgers. Good French fries, altho today the fries seemed to become cold rather quickly. Overall, yes, try it. I had the big sky burger(or blue sky?), which has burger, blue cheese(not a lot), bacon(not a lot), onion marmalade… love the sweet onion marmalade…, pickle, lettuce & tomato. This burger & fries was nearly $ 17. I think that’s a bit pricey. But when I want the best bang for the buck I usually go to East 64th street, Jacksonhole.

I recently came here for lunch and got a turkey burger. delish! It was well seasoned, hot, and tasty. Gobble Gobble. Service was perfect. I’ll definitely be back to get my BRGR on.

Big fat MEH. Ordered the Pastoral View, fries, and a soda. Grand total? $ 17 and change when all was said and done. People whine about Shake Shack but they’re cheaper! Pro: the herb mayo was awesome. Con: it was probably the most flavorful part of the burger. I might be partially to blame as the Pastoral View is a turkey burger and turkey burgers can be garbage if done poorly but jeez. The fries were good, blistering hot and crispy. The wait was a bit longer than average considering the place was dead… everyone was eating when I got there so it’s not like there were orders ahead of mine… took about 15 minutes. I ended up asking them to give me it to go since I saw that a BxM1 was a few stops away and it saved me having to find a way back over to the west side to end up on a 1 train… considering the 61st/3rd Av stop is right across the street. Overall: bland burger, longish time for your food to be cooked(cutting some slack as it was done fresh to order). The people working were nice and accomodating. Still not worth the amount I paid though.

Sadly– one of the worst tasting patties I’ve had in a while. Burger was extremely salty and overdone. It reminded me of the premade patties from my elementary school days. If you want to go for a healthy option for burgers stick with bareburger. If not, then skip this place and go to the Johnny Rockets down the street– you’ll be better off– which is a lot to say.

Delicious grass feed burgers. I’m a big time burger lover & have tried most burger joints in NYC. Although I do have my favorites, this place def makes the list. Try the beautiful day burger. You can definitely taste the grass feed difference. The burgers are made to your liking every time & the fries are great too, & the location is nice & always clean. They also serve beer & some other alcoholic beverages.

Ugly décor lol and the employees seem to hate their jobs. As for the burger, I designed my own. I got the beef burger, added grilled onions for an additional $ 0.50 and a fried egg for an additional $ 1. I had my beef cooked well and had the brgr sauce which was a thousand island sauce. It paired quite nicely with the burger. I hated the pickles though so I took them out. The beef was cooked well and it didn’t taste oily at all. It was quite moist. But I’m not sure I would go back to pay $ 10.12 for a burger. I’d rather go to smashburger where I could get a burger with fries for that price.

Came here last Saturday with my two sons and we all loved our burgers. It’s a little pricier than some other places, but I don’t mind paying more for better ingredients.(My sons just watched Food Inc and read Omnivore’s Dilemma so they were on board too.) I got the Down on the Farm burger, pretty good. My boys kept it simple with build your own options. Loved the fry/onion trio too. Food wasn’t as fast as some other places I’ve been, but service was definitely friendly and we weren’t in a hurry so not a big deal. Bottom line: we’d come back for sure.

Never say I’m too proud to admit that I’m wrong. Notwithstanding my bad first experience at BRGR, I decided to try my luck and return a second time, which was a great decision in retrospect. I loved my well done burger-which was crispier than I had any right to anticipate-as well as the delicious gruyère cheese. It’s still expensive, but apparently that is the fashion these days. Still worth a trip.

Fast food service with higher quality food. The people who work here are more often than not rude and /or disinterested, but the food really is higher quality and tasty. I always get their veggie burger, and it’s one of my favorite«chain restaurant» veggie patties. They have quality ingredients and the animals that make their meat are grass fed. If only they could get a handle on their service, I’m sure they could lure some of those lunchtime Chipotle customers over. Oh, and lowering their prices a smidge wouldn’t hurt either. ;)

This is what a $ 9 cheeseburger from BRGR looks like. I would have been better off eating the $ 9. I’ve been to this place(and the Chelsea location) a bunch since they opened in 2010. For the first year or so, they were possibly my favorite fast food style burger place in the city, the Down on the Farm burger was really good. Then the customer service went, my order would be delivered wrong(fries would be forgotten, sometimes I’d ask for no cheese, there would be cheese). Then the food went downhill, the beef doesn’t taste the same any more. Super disappointing. Shakes were awesome. However, the light not working in one of the bathrooms, and the hinge being broke on the door to the other, turned me off. I visit the Chelsea location irregularly while hoping the quality would some how return. It hasn’t. How are places like this even staying open in midtown? Because midtown Manhattan has the massive foot traffic that comes with being a top 10 worldwide(I’m assuming) tourist destination. This means your business can survive on new customers alone, whereas a regular business needs repeat customers. Bonus reading: In Discover Your Inner Economist(or maybe something else he’s written), the author writes about one of his rules for finding good food being that you should avoid major thoroughfares and look on smaller streets and in more isolated locations. The reason being that restaurants in locations with enough traffic can survive on one-time customers only. I learned that lesson when I first moved here after trying out a few conveniently located pizza place. I figured«how bad could they bad?» — well they were much worse than I figured. It’s also extremely common for restaurants to over-perform during the first year and then not-so-slowly slide into mediocrity or awfulness. I now consider new restaurants to be a form of charity — the owners or backers are most likely losing money to attract customers. After the first year, the founders typically spend a lot less time involved in the ongoing operations and, if they either can’t or don’t care to find someone competent to manage it, it doesn’t continue to provide good food or good service for long. So enjoy new restaurants while they’re still young!

Went with my sister and I got the«Rainforest» burger with Black and white milkshake(chocolate milkshake) and sweet potato fries. The burger was okay, I think we’ve had better ones at Smash burger. The milkshake was too thick for our liking, was hard to sip through a straw. That was sad since we went in after reading the sign on the restaurant window which said«Best shakes in nyc». Fries were okay too, personally thought it was overpriced.

It’s 12:28, there are barely any people here. I ordered a side of fries at 12:13(after waiting for the cashier to punch in a couple of very long seamless orders.), I’m still waiting… ‘Nuf said.

Brgr NY Manhattan UES 3pm Saturday 31st October 2015 Four Stars I am not sure why there is so much hate on Unilocal for BRGR. It is upscale fast food burger joint with moderate prices. I had the«Beautiful Day» which is the standard Burger. The bun was soft brioche with enough thickness to handle everything inside of it. The Beef patty was 100% Grass Fed, cooked to actual medium(i.e. slight pink inside), and was rather tasty. The whole leaf of romaine, tomato slice, and pickle chips were okay. The grilled onions were a bit smushy but were decent. The BRGR sauce was non existent on my burger. Overall, it was a good $ 9 burger. The sweet potatoes were savory, deep fried to crispy perfection, and were plentiful. I think that BRGR deserves a better rating.

I don’t get why this place has bad reviews. Guess it’s about setting the right expectations :) I like my burgers simple, not greasy and medium cooked. It’s not easy to find this kind of burger on a ‘fast food like’ place. My choice: beautiful day burger(cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato and pickles), medium cooked and IT was perfect. What you’ll get: — a normal size burger. It looks like having the same size as shack burger from shake shack — tasty meat(grass fed cows) — no grease — the sauce used it’s delicious Price $ 8.50 It’s awesome that they also serve beer. The place looks nice and clean. We waited maximum 10′ for our order.(not a tragedy)

I think I know why people are not super happy with this place, and it has to do with the décor. I love the décor personally. Modern, clean. However, it’s not quite in line with it’s message. It screams fast food and an in-and-out type place. This place is neither. It’s supposed to be a place with high quality ingredients, with the burger patties put on the grill after you order. It takes a good 10 minutes to get your burger, which is not a bad thing. What I do like about this place is that all the meat comes from grass-fed cows, not corn-fed. I know you’re thinking I’ve fallen victim to the hippy movement of the 60’s, but I haven’t. I’m very pragmatic about this. The meat is just leaner. You can customize your burgers with various toppings in addition to various sauces the staples(tomatoes, onions, lettuce). The burger with tax will likely cost you around $ 10. I got the standard patty with a fried egg and no cheese. It was quite good. Their fried egg had solid yolk, which I really appreciated because it didn’t drip everywhere when I was trying to eat it. I was craving the sweet potato fries, but the price prevented me from getting them($ 4.50). It was a good thing considering the number of carbs in them…

Good basic burger, better than a fast food burger but not as good as a place like Bareburger or Shake Shack. Fries are not that great. Very similar to Joy Burger if you’ve ever been there, but Joy is slightly better. Good shakes though.
