5 stars for current very cool, really, ultra cool, art exhibit called«the swings». see my photos. «each swing represents one of four instruments: piano, harp, guitar, vibraphone – and triggers sound when participants swing back & forth». this is a limited time art event, only until july 7th, 2016. june 10-july 7. time: from 12 noon — 8pm note: this is not, repeat – not a playground – it is an art installation, therefore, a waiver must be signed, there are rules. see my photo of the rules poster. parent/guardian must sign a waiver for anyone 18 years or younger. children under 36″ tall must ride on parent/guardian’s lap. bad weather such as rain or wind may temporarily close the art installation. sign says: «swing & experience collaborative music-making in this interactive art installation» during peak times – limit of 5 minutes on swing, per person. adults or kids can swing on the swings and as your swing moves, music is created – you will hear different music from each swing. inside brookfield mall-nice selection of shops & restaurants. i shall go back to try the food… today, there were beautiful tulips painted on the outside of the glass walls and, the sun was shining. i look forward to going back so that i can try the swings! i did not have time when i saw this lovely art installation. there is a blue tented table at the area & you sign the waiver there, before you are permitted to take part. this art installation is ultra cool!

Stopped by with my brother before watching the US vs Paraguay match. Very pretty space, with high tables and stools. There is an assortment of fresh meat and seafood that they’ll cook for you. Started with some foie gras terrine, very fresh and satisfying. We tried the Tiger Shrimps at $ 10 each, was a steal! They’re almost the size of a lobster. Wash it down with the excellent Triennes Saint Fleur, makes for a perfect small meal. Definitely worth a visit — the Ferry from NJ stops right outside.

THE best caramels I have ever eaten-they are pricey and some of the people who work in the store have that ‘nyc attitude’ but overlook it-because the chocolate and caramel sweets are just first rate. The problem is how to determine, when you’ve gotten them home, which is which… but then again you may not get them home and it may not matter. They also sell cookies in this store but I didn’t even want to try them, once I’d had a caramel. they have NO samples by the way, but… the rest of Brookfield Pl is jammed, touristy and VERY expensive. Some of the offerings may be very good but…

I brought my parents here when they came to New York City and they liked it! It’s one of the only malls in Manhattan(I actually hate shopping on the streets). Even though the shops are mostly high-end brand names, the food court and outer port area is a must visit. Such a nice place to relax under the palm trees and enjoy a treat from Le District or Hudson Eats. :)

This mall, filled with mostly higher end shops, is across from the 911 memorial.(You can get to it via an underground tunnel from the One World Trade Center-aka Freedom Tower.) There are restaurants on the first floor and a food court on the second floor. The food in the food court is not your typical fast food garbage found at most malls(well, I can only speak for malls in Vancouver) and actually offers healthy choices that don’t make you feel ill. This is s good place to come to if you’re visiting the memorial and are hungry, need to use the bathroom, or need Internet access(note: to use the free wifi, you must sign in with your email address).

Apparently this is one of the better areas of the city and it became even more special during this weekend, when the America’s cup was being held. My friend and I came in a bit late, when all the ideal spots were being taken away by those early birds; however we were still able to observe the whole race with excitement. Nice weather(with wind and sunshine), lovely people, exciting competition! Probably there should be a moment in life where I just forget about being a foodie!

They currently have the Intrude Exhibition here — it’s interesting, especially when you walk into the main lobby and all of a sudden see a giant bunny in your way. But I believe that’s what Intrude is all about: Bunnies intruding our space. They’re everywhere; hanging out in our lobby, lounging by some stores, resting outside. It’s cute, though confusing at first. My friends and I couldn’t help but think that it was for Easter at first, until we quickly realized that Easter was over… However you interpret this installation, you can’t help but have the bunnies intrude your mind and conversations when you step into Brookfield.

In a previous life, I worked in the World Financial Center. Back then, Brookfield Place was a mostly empty wasteland of a few fancy shops that I had no use for, populated by suited bros. As my old friend Chris used to say, «Damn, shit done changed.» There are still plenty of formally dressed finance types and I still have little use for the majority of the high-end shopping, but this indoor plaza has filled out into one of the most elegant spaces in all of NYC. With the gorgeous Winter Garden anchoring the mall with soaring ceilings, palm trees and beautiful lighting all year round, this is a much more worthy representative of our city than the Manhattan Mall. Overall, it is surprisingly peaceful for a heavily populated space in downtown Manhattan, and the food court has grown from just a lonely Blockheads to one of the most eclectic and excellent selections I can think of. Whether you’re looking to eat, shop, or just sit, Brookfield is worth checking out.

A nice place — high tech, clean, bright, fancy… I admit I haven’t seen the entire complex and mainly come to do my 9×5… However, security is present and highly visible. This is an upscale and posh spot just going off of the countless designer stores they have in here. There’s a skating rink outside during the winter and during warmer months is a place for outdoor dining. Throughout the year they hold different shows for all ages and even Santa comes to visit. The food court is reasonable for Manhattan, has a variety as for the different types of food but I wouldn’t go there for an everyday meal or I’d be broke. Overall its like a mini mall, assumingly for the people that live in the area(the rich and famous) because I’m only coming frequently to work; not get off and stock up on some Gucci and more of the other overpriced retailers they have in there. But it looks pretty and its a great view of the Harbor and the Statue of Liberty!

I’d heard of Brookfield place from friends and decided to check it out. It offers something for everyone and is a unique space that allows you to take a break from your walking and sightseeing around the city. There’s many high-end shops, an enormous«food court»(again, much higher end than what you’d picture), restaurants, bars, and seasonal activities(we saw the ice skating rink in the winter). They also show various art installations that change from time to time. I especially enjoyed the palm trees and changing color luminarias. We ended our visit by walking along the Hudson as you can access the park that faces New Jersey directly from Brookfield Place. Overall, not really a destination but more of a place to check out if nearby!

Balling shopping center filled with expensive shops and places to eat(Hudson eats). It’s connected to various work buildings so a lot of people work in these buildings. It’s super duper nice inside– with nice lights in the middle that change colors. High-end shopping stores(DvF, Gucci, etc)…for people to buy stuff after work??? Not sure… not exactly affordable for the average person. Nice to browse though! Located by the river and across from world trade center. Good views of Jersey and the statue of liberty. Ice rink outside too. The food court(Hudson eats) has good but on the pricier side food. I heard blue ribbon sushi is pretty good. There’s a shake shack somewhere too. Pj Clarkes is also in this building. There’s also a rite aid in this building… random but convenient.

Good place to shop or meet a friend to grab a bite to eat at Hudson Eats. The seasonal ice rink is great for young kids learning how to ice skate. They get to push a foe baby seal around the ice to stabilize themselves– adorable. Many tables and chairs inside to relax and enjoy coffee or check your email while getting a good view of the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty. Great for outdoor seating most of the year. Even when the weather gets warm in the winter the restaurants open some outdoor seating.

I like this place a lot and I come here often. Why? Its the only indoor area in this neck of the woods that has a little bit of everything. Shopping(too high end for me mostly), eating, palm trees to stare up at, the sunset off the Hudson river, occasional art shows or limited ice skating. I don’t know why anyone would rate it low on the list unless they hate the establishment and are sad they can’t afford anything. You can, it just may be a $ 3 water bottle. Or a mini cupcake for less than that at Sprinkles. Their Christmas display was especially nice, high end, shiny. Everyone should come chill inside when its cold in Brookfield. They really made something nice out of this place.

Gorgeous, spacious, peaceful, clean. All the words I never thought I could use to describe NYC. Brookfield Place has everything you need to unwind for an afternoon(or evening): art exhibits, higher end shopping stores, an amazing food court, ice skating rink, and public spaces for short NYC getaways. Closest subway station I found was the E(Chambers Street, different platform from A and C trains).

Let the(additional) gentrification begin. Ha, I kid. Brookfield Place has gone through many changes in the years that I’ve been working out of this building, and I would say a lot of them are for the better. Hudson Eats(the food court) has a wide variety of cuisines, my favorite probably being Dos Toros or Mighty Quinn’s. A good number of shops have re-opened after this most recent major renovation, and the Rite Aid is leaps and bounds better than it was before the renovation. I just have to say, I think most people don’t casually drop in to shop at Ferragamo. I know it’s New York, but I’d say that the average consumer would likely focus on J. Crew and other less fancy stores. On spring/summer days, you can go out by the Brookfield Place waterfront and enjoy lunch if you have the time. The views are pretty spectacular, and at certain vantage points, you can even spot the Statue of Liberty or just a really good view of the sun setting. During the winter months, you can enjoy the skating rink, which is usually pretty empty during business hours, but on weekends, is actually pretty packed with children. The staff at Brookfield Place holds a lot of art exhibits and activities for families, which is pretty cool. One of the main recurring exhibits is Canstruction, which is a competition to build 3-d models purely out of canned goods, and the stuff that people come up with is actually pretty cool. Most recently, Brookfield Place had the Luminaries exhibit in the central Winter Garden, designed by the Rockwell group, which featured a number of translucent lantern cubes, suspended near the ceiling. It’s a pretty cool sight to see, and definitely something to attract people who like shiny things. Heh. Shiny. I’ll obviously be back because I work in the building. However, you should give it a look too if you’re touring Tribeca/Financial district and want to do some shopping or need something to eat.

Equipped with free wifi, several food options, clothing stores and even an ice skating rink, Brookfield Place is a quintessential«chill spot» located in Battery Park City. My friends and I came here to use the restrooms after waiting 2.5 hours for the Museum of Feelings in the freezing cold. The bathrooms were kept relatively clean and the place was home to several office entrances and decorative palm trees. For the winter season, there is an art exhibition in the main lobby that features colorful cubes that change colors and illuminate the whole first floor(just in case you’re feeling artsy and want to take pictures.) This place features a huge seating area on the second floor equipped with electrical outlets in case you’d like to charge your phones/laptops and well-known eateries such as Dos Toros Tacos and Umani Burger. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and if definitely recommend this place to anyone who just needs a place of chill or get a bite to eat and/or some shopping done.

I found this place in Unilocal while traveling during a business trip and was quite impressed! The place reminds me of a large mall, full of shops, restaurants, and even activities like ice skating, «Elfie Selfie»(fun photo opportunity for interested parties), and dessert heaven. The food court consists of 19 restaurants that are not your typical mall food eateries. The food is very affordable with entrees ranging from $ 8 and up. Stores: There are a total of 30 stores including high end brands like Gucci, Burberry, just to name a few. Also including Davidoff, a premium cigar shop. Amenities: The establishment has several amenities including a child care place, ZipCar, just to name a few. The establishment is well decorated for all holidays including Christmas with the abundance of Douglas fir trees, wreaths and other holiday decorations. There were security guards everywhere and seeing them gives you a sense of security and safeness.

4 – 4.5 stars. Never even knew about this luxury shopping complex right in FiDi and I’ve been living here since July! I came here on a Saturday afternoon in pursuit of the hottest new museum: the Museum of Feelings. Got there and discovered that the line appeared to stretch at least 4 hours, so quickly gave up on that idea and decided to explore the rest of Brookfield Place. First thing that is awesome: There’s a small outdoor skating rink!!! Not sure what the prices are like but definitely love that this is an option. Inside the actual shopping center, there are many typical luxury stores but also a handful of really cool, interesting places to check out like Brookstone. There’s also a beautiful winter garden that has just been created to rival the Rockefeller Center’s holiday display. Everything is sparkling clean and it’s not too crowded. There’s also a nice food court area filled with gourmet-looking restaurants if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat. This is a great place to casually shop and check out for a bit, but probably not the place to hardcore shop unless you’re looking to splurge. Really like the ambiance!

It’s pretty bland on the outside. I actually came here to use the restroom because the WTC didn’t offer public restrooms. I was surprised to find a large shopping center with a full food court area with premium options. The second floor has some tables and chairs where people could work or munch on financiers(the pastries). The windows in the back look out onto the Hudson. It’s a great place to watch the sunset actually. There’s a small park behind the mall.

Fun place to visit. Limited shopping opportunities. Most stores have not opened as of yet. I love the food court although I found it pricey. Le District is the most reasonable for the quality. Lots of delicious lunch items and sweets for desert. The views and palm trees give you a tropical feel. The luxury of the boats and view of the water are fantastic. The last time I visited they had a car show going on. That was in September. I hope they have more events to draw me down there for the day. Luxury surrounded me and my out of town guest that day! Fantasy is fun! This is a must visit place to cheer you after visiting the WTC site. It attests to NY resiliency to bounce back after a tragedy.
