We stopped in for dinner here on a Saturday night before heading to a play. This was a last minute choice so I was nervous that we would be disappointed. Luckily, this place is amazing! My husband had the cuban chicken and I had the pot pie, both dishes were delicious! Our server was helpful and understanding while we waited for our entire party to show up. The food was delicious and obviously fresh. This is a great place to stop in for a yummy bite to eat in the city!

Excellent diner! Small tables, expensive dishes(hey this is Manhattan!) but well worth it. We were in a table with 5 guests and everyone had something different so I was able to taste a few dishes. Everything was great! Fresh OJ(indeed fresh but again very expensive), the scrambled eggs were phenomenal, very well executed, not dry, just perfect! The eggs benedict were also fantastic and the pancakes were great and a huge portion enough to share! A breakfast for a family of four will cost you around $ 50 which is not cheap but who does eat this much in a daily or weekly basis? For Manhattan and been around a very touristy area I don’t think this was a bad deal. This was actually the best meal we had around this area in the city after spending a week.

I went to the Brooklyn Diner W 57th St tonight. Table for two. Looking around there were 7 empty tables, yet the young lady with big glasses told us we had to wait for a smaller table because there were two of us & it was a busy night. I days, ‘Bye’. Busy night & there were empty tables for four — & you’d make two people wait till there’s a table for two?! We left & a couple behind us left, as well! I live in NY& about 12 years ago vowed never to go back there. Nothing’s changed & biz lost!

My family watches Broadway and off-Broadway shows on a regular basis, so being forced to eat in the expensive tourist-ridden area of Times Square is something we’ve come to accept. My teenage niece, sister and I ate here in-between shows on a two show day. The servings are HUGE, which made the high prices(a bit) easier to accept. We had reservations on Open Table but ended up getting out from our first show a little earlier than we expected and got to Brooklyn Diner an hour early. Between the events surrounding Fleet Week and Memorial Day Weekend, Times Square was even crazier than normal, and we appreciated Brooklyn Diner serving us early since it was way too humid to stay outside. My sister loved her pea soup, while my niece and I both enjoyed our chicken noddle soup with challah. The portions here are quite large, and we couldn’t even finish our main entrees of the hot dog and fries, pigs in a blanket(from the appetizer menu), and the pot roast and kugel. The one thing that kind of put me off is that I felt that the managers(I’m assuming they were we the managers) were more attentive than our actual waiter.

Came here on vacation and ate here on the first night. The burger was amazing, it was actually cooked medium. The hot pastrami was also good, kind of fatty, but still delicious. Ordered a chocolate milkshake; was amazing. The only con — prices were a bit expensive for a diner; but it was a good experience regardless.

Experience was absolutely the best, not only is the food amazing,(we had the burger and chicken parm), but the service was fantastic. We hade the server Kale who was on top of everything and the Manger is just as great there, very polite and extremely guest focused on the best experience. Definitely a place to eat if in time square, you won’t regret it.

I’m sure the food is awesome… But I was ushered out of this place just as fast as I walked in because I was wearing a tank top… They said they would take my order but that I have to wait outside… And then I saw a dude walk out with a tank top on! Fuck this classist piece of shit.

We came here after my daughter performed at Carnegie Hall(yeah!). The service was good. We ordered the hot dog, which is gigantuous but yummy. Also ordered the bacon cheeseburger(excellent), and kids mac and cheese. The strawberry cheesecake is to die for, and the 6 inch chocolate chip cookie is very good. The price tag is high, and like other Unilocalers have mentioned, the menu is limited. But we had a great time.

Really good service, pricey for a «diner» but for mid-town Manhattan it’s reasonable.

Server John was great! By far the biggest hotdog I’ve ever see. Make sure you split, that will help with the cost. Only complaint is price.

Nice and comfy dinner well located. However, they could have more options. They don’t even have pancakes or waffles. The omelette with salmon I ate was well made with challah bread. Yummy

I have passed this diner so many times and decided ok let’s give it a try. Unfortunately at the greeting was the beginning of the end of this date. There was no where to wait which was ok. We finally got a a banquet which was great. We placed our order for drinks and brunch. Our waiter never offered or gave us water despite I asked. We asked for a dessert menu twice and the second time was given the bill. Not sure if this was our waiters first job but from what I could see he had no issues accommodating his other tables. The manager never came around the diner to see if everyone was ok. The only good part about my visit to the Brooklyn diner is that my son enjoyed his bbq pulled pork sandwich.

It was a rainy Saturday. The kids(6 and 8) were staving and we were walking by this Brooklyn Diner so we decided to try it @11:15am. We waited 5 minutes for a table. The 2 kids each got the chocolate pancakes, no kids menu. They shared a side of bacons. I got the pecan French toast. Overall, the food was great! The French toast melts in your mouth while the pancakes were fluffy and soft. The kids and I enjoyed it a great deal. The Diner is pricey compared to other NYC diners. The bill came to just under $ 100 with tip. Not an expensive meal for NYC, but expensive if you put the type of food into perspective. Recommendation: the amount of the food can definitely be shared especially if you have kids. This will reduce the cost per kids in half.

Got stuck working overtime Easter Sunday and ended up getting dinner here. Had a vanilla egg cream and a cheeseburger with fries. The egg cream was good. The burger and fries looked deceivingly small, but were quite tasty and satisfying. The price tag for an egg cream and two cheeseburgers was a little steep I thought, being $ 49.43(with tax sans tip).

The Brooklyn Diner is great place to bring out of town guests, as it is very touristy. Brooklyn-themed menu and décor make for a very«New York» lunch. Large menu provides options for all eaters… very kid-friendly! I came with a group of 5 on a Saturday afternoon, and we were luckily able to be seated right away. They seem to always be busy and crowded, but service is quick and attentive so the wait for a table is not too long. I ordered chicken noodle soup, which came with challah toast. Very large portion! Others ordered hamburgers and the pastrami sandwich, which were also enjoyable. Brooklyn Diner is pricey for a diner…2 burgers, 1 sandwich, and 2 soups came to a little over $ 90 with tip(no drinks, appetizers, or desserts). Fun lunch spot, but be prepared to spend some money!

I had one of those«omg I haven’t eaten all day I need to find food now» realizations while I was walking back to my subway stop. I honestly didn’t expect much walking into this place just because it’s a diner but WOW! Extensive menu and great waiting staff. I was seated immediately and I ordered the vanilla milkshake and a cheeseburger. The vanilla milkshake was big enough for two people and my cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and came with crispy fries. It’s also served on a cool cutting board. A little pricey($ 30) but hey it was really good and I was really hungry. It’s possible that I would go back to try out this place for breakfast and lunch in the near future. A little too pricey for diner food but I just that’s just part of their brand as an upscale diner.

I really had a taste for some buffalo wings so I decided to give this ‘diner’ a go… Unbeknownst to me, they don’t sale buffalo wings! So disappointedly, I studied the menu for a while read a few Unilocal reviews and ultimately decided on the Reuben sandwich. ____ Here’s my disclaimer: I am an avid Reuben-ite! My top 5 things to order when I’m really unsure(in no particular order) …Pepperoni pizza, Philadelphia rolls, blue crab, Mexican tacos and Reubens ____ Ok, now that that’s out of the way, on to the review… What can I say other than yum!!! The Reuben was delish! The fries were tasty! …the pickle was ehh(but who cares?! The meat on the Reuben was thickly sliced, tender, very fatty and superbly flavorful! The cheese was a melt-y compliment to the not-overwhelming kraut and the sandwich wasn’t drowning in(cold) thousand island dressing. In fact, the Reuben was served with a side of brown mustard that was pretty tasty and went quite well with the smokiness of the meat! I ordered the Reuben with a side of French fries and a Coke my total was $ 29.40. I wanted to order dessert but my lunch budget was blown and I was stuffed to the brim!!! …did I mention I only ate half a sandwich!!! So the answer to the ultimate question is yes… Brooklyn Diner was ABSOLUTELY worth the 7lbs I gained, the extra time at the gym and definitely worth the money!

When the man who greets you at the door of a diner is dressed in a tux and has a exotic accent you know this is not any ordinary diner. The prices tell you that too :) It’s worth it. After an exhausting trek through the city at Christmas time we were tired, cranky and hungry travelers just looking for a good meal and a view. Got both here, but we did eat at 5:30 pm. The menu is traditional diner with fabulous accents-the cheeseburger was one of the best I’ve ever had with a brioche bun, good cheddar and perfectly cooked(and I think) good quality. And not TOO big. Fries where hot and perfect. Our waiter, Yaya? Was fast and really pleasant with a fantastic smile. Even the wine was a cut above. $ 12 a glass but worth every sip. The desserts are fabulous-the hot fudge sundae was the winner as they were out of the signature red velvet cake. All in all-awesome!

Absolutely amazing — Yes it is a but pricier than a ‘normal diner’ but the food by far surpasses any diners regular quality. The polenta served with a side of sauce with my breakfast … Said to me I could actually come and order a dinner here! The sauce was phonminal! The staff was happy, polite, and on point. Ambiance … Amazing go Brooklyn Dodgers :) !
