He confirmed he could meet me at 6:20 as I had a 6:30 meeting where I needed something signed. I called him at 6:25 and he said he’d be 20 minutes late. When I said that wouldn’t work for me he hung up. Didn’t even apologize.

This is a great idea! The notary, William, will travel to you. At $ 25.00 it’s more expensive than other notaries. There is a slightly higher charge if he has to travel to Manhattan, and fees are higher for more complex transactions than my simple one. But it’s a convenience charge, so that is fine. I would rather pay extra than have to make an absurd 2 hour subway trip to some other notary. If I weren’t paying him for the inconvenience I’m sure I’d spend around $ 25 total for notary + subway/bus fare or taxi service or parking. Thankfully this enterprising gent is here to capitalize on this sentiment which I am sure others must share. When I searched for notaries in Brooklyn, I was amazed to see how few there are, with none listed conveniently to either my work or home neighborhoods –or at least how difficult it is to find one with a simple online search. So this service is great. The process was very simple. I called him yesterday afternoon and set an appointment for the next day. He arrived on time today and was very professional and friendly. I showed him my valid, current, gov’t issued ID, signed the documents, he signed and stamped them, done!
