In the room where they take photos there is not even one mirror.
The restroom is for the stuff only

Rude & completely unprofessional — the woman I spoke with scolded me like she was my mother — wtf? You’re supposed to provide a service, not spew your unsolicited judgements… I got the answers I needed only after repeatedly asking her to get back to the issue instead of asking me unrelated personal questions.
Terrible, terrible service. I thought the standards would be higher for the Bulgarian Consulate General for New York City! Shameful… can’t say I’m surprised, actually.

Although I’ve never used their immigration service, I’ve attended the monthly performances by young Bulgarian musicians held at the Bulgarian Consulate General’s second floor gallery a few times, usually held on Wednesday night. Some nights are free, but most of the time you will need to make a reservation. I strongly suggest making donations to support these volunteer musicians. I’m not a classical music expert, but let me tell you, this is a priceless experience!!! I felt very fortunate to be able to hear such high quality performances live in a very intimate and classy setting! These volunteer artists are world class musicians who have won numerous prizes in international competitions and some are still pursuing diplomas at Yale, Julliard, etc. My favorite artists are Lora Tchekoratova (pianist) and her husband Georgy Valtchev, who is among the most prominent Bulgarian violinists. These people perform in front of thousands of audience in prestigious theaters like Carnegie Hall, and yet we get to hear them only few feet away with just a couple dozen audience! How cool is that? Amazing! 5 star!!!
