I would definitely recommend Natalie’s advice. There are a few ways you can use this service, depending on your existing fashion knowledge. As someone with no natural fashion sense, I personally wanted to learn the rules of men’s style. Natalie immediately understood my needs and met them with flying colors. She helped me discover which clothing colors, fits and design features work best for my body. I learned so much! I have a new sense of confidence in the fashion world and I’m excited to use it.
I was a little worried about hiring a consultant on an hourly basis. I shouldn’t have been. Natalie really valued my time. In the long-​run, I’ll save money because I’ll make less shopping mistakes.
Finally, it was a really fun experience. 5 stars, for sure.

I have loved shopping for my whole life and when I went to NYC I really wanted to have a good experience and know where to go for the things I wanted to find (I wanted to find good jeans and some cute tops for the season) and Casey was so great to lead me to the right stores and a good fit! She was also great in giving me confidence in my style and color choices. I had such a blast with her and wish I could shop with her all the time. I love buttoned up and reading their blog!

While I have to admit I feel a little embarrassed about being the type of person who hires personal shoppers, I really can’t say enough good things about the experience. Leading up to my closet consultation, I was extremely excited to see what Casey and Natalie would do with my pre-​existing wardrobe. Then, the day before, I convinced myself that I’d made a terrible mistake and the session would be worthless. How wrong I was. We somehow managed to clear out 2 garbage bags full of unflattering or outdated clothing, while at the same time seemingly multipying my wardrobe by at least a factor of 10 (without $ 1 spent in a store). You also get a personalized look book as part of the package, which is extremely helpful in actually remembering all the different outfits the girls put together for you.
A few weeks after my closet consult, I met with Casey and Natalie for 3 hours of shopping. They have a great knowledge of all the little boutiques you’d never think to go to (or even find) on your own, and have a knack for pulling pieces that are both flattering and which fill holes in your existing wardrobe. Given that at this point they knew every item of clothing in my closet, it was easy for them to target the items that would best complement what I had. Usually when I go shopping on my own, I come home with bags full of clothes that are nearly identical to what I already own. With Casey and Natalie, I came home with bags full of clothes that were actually different from my pre-​existing pieces, so my wardrobe options have increased exponentially. The days of staring into my closet and seeing a whole lot of nothing are becoming a thing of the past.
Lastly, if you’re like me and tend to do a lot of aimless shopping — spending a lot of money on clothes and still feeling like you have nothing to wear — I honestly feel like this service will SAVE you money. At the very least, you can spend the same amount you were spending before and actually have something to show for it afterwards.

My Closet Consultation with Natalie and Casey of Buttoned Up was not only helpful, but fun! I had gotten into the habit of wearing the same things, over and over, but Natalie and Casey saw new life and combinations with items I had long given up on (or gasp — still had the tag on). The outfits they put together are darling and modern. They also helped identify a few missing items and suggested where to find them to update my wardrobe.
Casey and Natalie are very professional, kind, approachable, and of course, stylish. They will instill confidence in you and your wardrobe too.

I admit, when I scheduled my closet consultation I was a little nervous to have Casey and Natalie come rummage through my clothes. What if they told me my wardrobe was hopeless and that I should just throw everything out and start over? Thankfully that wasn’t how it went. Buttoned Up revamped my current wardrobe by showing me how to combine pieces I already own in new, updated ways. I feel like I have so many more options now, and I didn’t even have to go shopping! I highly recommend Buttoned Up. These ladies know what they’re doing, they’ve got great instincts and they know what’s in style and what looks good. They also know how to make you feel comfortable, whatever your style or body type is, and find the perfect outfits to flatter and compliment you.
