Very cute little place and dragon bowl was the bomb. All super fresh and almost too pretty to eat. Do it.

This is one of those places you would find on Instagram! The pink tables along with the décor is very hip and cool. I definitely ended up taking a lot of pictures here. Food options are limited. I got the dragon bowl, which was good as well as the avocado toast. However, the portion for the avocado toast was very small. It was only 1 toast. Not filling so it’s recommended that you order something else as well. The pricing is quite steep for the amount of food given, but it’s a cute place. I would recommend ordering the dragon bowl instead.

I went there in Saturday for lunch with some friends. The choice is very limited. The service was very Quick but for the price there is not enough to eat. I could have eaten twice What was served. The bloody Mary was also very expensive for a small plastic cup($ 11)… The food was good(not amazing) but it was way too expensive for What it was.

LOVE. perfect for a late lunch/brunch. I love that I can come here and totally pig out without feeling disgusting or too stuffed later. Killer ambience and rotating art on the walls(why do more places not do this??) Dragon bowls forever but they also have really great teas and coffees. I love the waffle they do at brunch and their bacon is house made and delicious.

I’d heard good things, but this place was all looks and no substance. The menu is very limited and the one thing I was interested in was unavailable — and this was on a Saturday morning. My friend and I ended up ordering the egg sandwich, which I want to warn you is served cold. The eggs were hard boiled and it was a pre-made sandwich straight out of the fridge, giving it a cold mushy texture. VERY disappointing. Staff were also slow to serve which added to the bad experience. Hopefully they change their menu regularly.

Cute place and a nice addition to the neighborhood. Grabbed the avocado toast, egg sandwich, and a dragon bowl. All were quite good. The mugs they served the coffee and tea in were cute, but absolutely tiny. It was kind of ridiculous. That would’ve been all fine, but the service was really quite poor. Water never got refilled despite being there about 90mins, the wait staff really just weren’t attentive. Was impossible to get their attention to pay our bill. They seemed more interested in mingling at the counter than actually servicing the floor.

This place was so hipster and eccentric. When you walk in, the colors are just so bright and it makes you so happy. All the other reviews raved about the dragon bowl but I was feeling eggs so I got the egg sandwich which was so good. My friend got the avo-toast which she really loved. The atmosphere made this such a wonderful place to eat at. We came on a weekday so we had no problem getting a seat and the service was good as well.

Slightly disappointing with the over-cooked avocado toast. The hot latte’s were great though.

Another cool, hipster café on the LES. Fun artsy interior with handmade ceramic mugs. Ordered the acai bowl which was okay and a latte that was alright. Don’t hate it or love it.

A very cute, Wes Anderson-esque café that’s perfect for a nice brunch or lunch. I’ve been here twice, once for brunch on a Sunday and another time for lunch on a weekday. Surprisingly, it seems busier on the weekdays, but either way, you should have no problem finding a seat. FOOD: — Dragon bowl: A colourful and delicious rice bowl with some salad, chickpeas, sweet potatoes and lentils. The beet tahini sauce is especially yummy; make sure to mix everything together(once you’ve taken a nice Instagram-worthy pic). I’ve tried it with the tea + ginger poached chicken and the Persian meatballs — the chicken is a little rubbery and the meatballs a little dry, but I’d recommend the chicken. — Yogurt coddled eggs(weekend only): So good! Everything is very flavourful, and the za’atar toast that comes with it is crunchy, just the way I like it. Definitely get this if you’re here on the weekend. — Avocado toast: Nothing to write home about. The toast wasn’t very crunchy, and the toppings were pretty generic. Pretty, but just okay. — Acai bowl: Tasted pretty good, but the texture was a little soupy for my liking. Also has a lot of soaked chia seeds, so if you’re not a fan, I wouldn’t get this. — Banana bread: I’m a sucker for good banana bread, and this was good! Moist and sweet, without being too sweet. I especially liked the flax seeds in the crust, which gave it a nice crunch and nutty flavour. The service is a little slow, and when I went on the weekday the chef had lost our order so we had to wait a while, but we got a free banana bread and drinks, and the waitress was really nice about it. Overall, would definitely recommend checking this place out for brunch! MUST get the dragon bowl and the yogurt coddled eggs(and the banana bread too if you’re hankering for one).

Cute little place with with subtle sexual decors. There are lots of seating for you to study or chat. I was confused whether to order at the counter or just to have a seat when I entered. I ordered at the front and was told to have a seat and that my drink would be brought to me. I ordered the soy chai latte which came is an awesome cup. It was one of the best chai I had but wish that it was a bigger cup. Only downfall of this place is that it closes at 5pm?! But I’ll definitely be back to try their food.

One of the best authentic chai tea lattes in the city. I also had the cardamom latte but I wish the cardamom was more intense. Interesting retro café. Gentrification at it’s finest.

Décor here is untouchable. Love the natural light(and that I can walk by and admire it everyday). It’s a bit away from the main haul of avocado-toast land, but adjacent to a ton of chinatown galleries. Patrons here are beautiful, as are the staff and all the food. Everything is served on gorgeous ceramics, the tables are pastel pinks and blues, and everything is very hip. I had the avocado toast — buttery, ripe avocados. Sprouted lentils lend a vegetal crunch; thinly sliced pickled radish, dill, cilantro brighten and beautify the whole thing up. Poached egg is done in some turmeric broth, so the whites are a vibrant yellow. Huge fan of Camille Becarra’s chef residency here. Servers can be aloof. It’s pricey. It’s kinda sorta gentrification. But the food is beautiful and makes you feel good. PS coffee apparently sucks here so get one to go at Football Café, a block south for some La Colombe beans n butter coffee. Also A+ interiors over there, but no seating room!

I really like this place, not just because it’s Instagrammable, but also because the colors and vibes there just make it a place you’d want to stay! I’ve had the quinoa bowl and the avocado toast before, and both were equally good. Not the cheapest place out there, but what I do really like about it is how it caters to people going to do work and others who want to chat and catch up on life over a cup of coffee. Definitely will go back to check out the avo-hash, which I’ve seen quite a lot of people order whenever I’m there!

I came to Café Henrie specifically to try their Instagram famous Dragon Bowl. The bowl itself is beautiful, especially with the artistic smear of the bright pink Beet Tahini sauce on one side. I have to say though, the instant the bowl was placed in front of me, my first thought was how pretty it was but I was unsure if it would taste good fearing an overly«healthy» taste. Soon enough, though, my doubts were thrown out the window because it was DELICIOUS. A note about the café itself though. Being a first time visitor to this café, I found the stark contrast between the café and its immediate surroundings in Chinatown extremely amusing. The café seemed so out of place somehow but, upon seeing the restaurant’s somewhat quirky style, I’m sure this was intentional. 4 stars only because I wish that the servings were more generous and that they allowed for take out.

It’s the perfect little spot and the food was on point. Super healthy, delicious and creative. The dragon bowls are all the rave. And you kind of feel like you’re in a scene from Greece, in love with the décor. I’m a soon to be regular!

Why does the menu keep on changing? The service here needs to get better here tbh. Food isn’t that great when they changed the chef…

Lovely new spot in L. E. S., good service, spacious, retro décor and a nice view of the trees on Sarah D. Roosevelt park. However, the menu is quite limited and seems to need more refinement, particularly with regard to seasoning and palate balance. Considering Café Henrie has only been open for a week, I am confident that with time they will earn the 5th star. Update: revisited for brunch, as anticipated the menu has evolved quite nicely. The flavor palate is more elaborate and the dishes better presented. I recommend the Norwegian eggs and the Henrieta. A neighboring table got a sandwich that looked pretty damn good too.

Café Henrie is simply adorable! Large, open space with an easy breezy-art deco air. A perfect spot for anytime — working on your laptop, having a brunch date or when you need a casual bite! Great service, great food. Chef, Marquis Hayes, is creating wonderful foods out of Café Henrie’s kitchen! Featuring Counter Culture coffee, a fancy tea selection and rotating juices/smoothies every day. Café Henrie is a local gem.

Found this new spot after finishing some work in the area. I was definitely drawn in by the décor. Some baby pink, blues and plenty of seating. One of the staff told me to find a seat anywhere I like and came over with the menu for me. Like how most people described it, it is a healthy menu, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. They also have a juice and smoothie of the day, and coffee by counter culture. I was in the mood to get an Acai Bowl, which was beautifully presented with kiwi, pineapple, chia seeds, cacao nibs and some coconut flakes. Though it was smaller than I imagined, it had good consistency and was not watery. A very refreshing lunch. I’ll probably opt for the other options next time, such as the avo hash. Saw a few people get the avo hash and the potato waffle looks delicious. The staff was super friendly, and came by to ask if I liked the food. They were also very attentive, refilling water every now and then, and offering the wifi password to anyone doing work. There were a lot of people on their laptops and it’s a nice place to get some work done. I’ll be back for some more food and coffee soon.
