This place was great for happy hour but it looks like they closed. The doors were locked and the Windows all covered.

Great place. I’m going to need to try the food. I’m here because I want to get a drink/freshen up before heading up home from Soho to Wash Heights. The second I got here I went for a glass of Vino and the bartender immediately recommended their speciality grapefruit Moscow mule. It was really balanced and flavorful. I love the feel of the place. It’s very ambient and their choice of music is on point. It’s conveniently located next to the canal street A train and you better know I’ll be back again!

I really wanted to like this cute place in my neighborhood. I have been there twice and it’s just okay. Place was pretty slow and the bartender did a pretty good job of ignoring be both times. The manager was likewise oblivious and I had to ask the manager for the wine list. Whatever. I would rather go down the street to Macao where the bartenders always take care of you immediately. The squid in pasta was very good and our waiter tried very hard and was nice but service was a bit disorganized. I just don’t know if I would make the point to go back again.

The service was great, Andrew who served us is very helpful and friendly. We are very surprised to receive a complimentary appetizer by the manager who understands we are upset to learn that the dish was no longer on the menu. Food is great and delicious. I shall come again and try more new items :) Sillyalong, from Toronto

The food was very good. Had the blt. But the service was terrible. We waited 45 min to an hour for our meal plus, after they took our plates always, we waited another 20 – 30 minutes for them to get our bill. There were only two other tables the entire time.

the service was really great and the burger was acceptable, but the overall atmosphere(crowd) was a little annoying.

One thing I love about NYC is the plethora of restaurants that you can’t judge by its cover. Our friends made a reservation here so we had no clue what we were walking into. The bread was delicious and I love its served with oil and vinegar. Our friends ordered the Duck Liver moose and it was DELICIOUS. I’m normally skeptical on foods that are out of my pallet range, but it melts in your mouth and I finished what they didn’t eat. We ordered the big charcuterie platter. It wasn’t huge but its was definitely filling. If you go this route, as for more bread upon receiving. I really liked the«blue» cheese and all off the meats were on point. One of our friends got the dish with the squid ink rice and It was a first for me to try it. DECEDENT. LEGENDARY. I could have had a side of that and been full. All an all, this Texas boy was impressed. :)

Cute place. Right down the street from me. They have some outdoors seating set up and I like to sit outside and chat with friends, but they never got a permit for the seating outside so that will be gone soon unfortunately.

I visited the new Tribeca location in late April and loved it. The bar staff took care of us for all our food & drink needs and the décor was as good as one on the original Soho spot. I will be back!

totally not a place I would normally go into because it’s looks like a restaurant rather than a bar, except a friend asked to meet there. at first I was like ‘oh no! it’s fancy!’ but it was actually super casual. we sat at the bar and had a couple rounds of drinks — great service, good prices, and the atmosphere was good too! I can’t comment on the food because we didn’t have any, but as far as stopping in, sitting at the bar, and having a couple drinks, it’s a definite YES!

Benjamin the bartender manager is absolutely incredible, the service was excellent overall! Some of the staff from the old Café Noir were there and it was good to see familiar faces… a WOW experience to me

The service was excellent; thoughtful and anticipatory. The bread that was served after I sat down was delicious. I always order butter instead of oil and vinegar but found the latter to be high-quality and flavourful. The squid ink paella was a little on the salty side, which was perfect for me. The rice was cooked well, deliciously crispy from the skillet. The seafood was fresh and tender. When I finished, there was no residual oil in the skillet. I had to rush out at the end. Otherwise, I would have stayed for dessert. I will definitely be back.

Came here for lunch during a business meeting. It was a Monday and they had a steady stream of tables, but there were always several tables open throughout our stay. We sat in the first 4-top next to a pair of hidden double doors that lead to the front door area. These doors are not used by anyone(patrons must enter through a red curtain instead) and the doors are somehow affixed to one another so they don’t separate/open. Unfortunately it’s confusing when entering from the street so every 5 minutes new customers would come in and attempt to open the doors. This would shift/knock over everything on our table and freeze us out every single time. Alternately the table is under the main heating system and is horribly hot when the doors are closed. Just a no-win situation. Not a good set up. The staff is nice and attentive… however they are either too attentive or not communicating with one another. We would get approached and interrupted constantly. It was really kinda annoying because they would ask the same question the other had just asked seconds before. The food was delicious though I am surprised there weren’t as many traditional french items in the menu. We had a flatbread, marinated Olivers and artichokes to start and chose to share a bLT sandwich and Chicory salad. Not very french for a french café. They even called their fries, French fries and not pomme Frites. Just so-so experience. Will probably never go back.

Came here a birthday dinner in a group of 10. First off, the neighborhood around here isn’t great. Lispenard is basically an abandoned street just below Chinatown and above Tribeca. On the walk over from the subway stop, there were quite a few unsavory characters milling around the street and the nearby parking lot. Not really enough to warrant any real sense of danger, but still not a pleasant environment during the night time. However, the inside of the restaurant is very inviting, and the décor is reminiscent of that of a French bistro. The waitstaff was very friendly in greeting us and seated us fairly quickly, despite the majority of our party being late. This is when things kinda went south. For some reason, a lot of the drink offerings on the menu were unavailable and our waiter kept coming back, telling a good number of us that they were out of a particular beer or wine that we had initially ordered. It was sort of frustrating after the third or fourth time. Also, after we ordered, the food came out at very random spurts. Half the table got all their food, entrees and all, while the other half didn’t have their food for almost an hour. Not to mention, I was on the side of the table who had received their food, and I was still waiting on my burger, so I wasn’t the happiest. Our waiter was very apologetic at first, but as the meal progressed, got more and more impatient with our requests. It was as if he had never handled a large table before, and it showed. Our waiter seemed to write a lot of stuff down, but still forgot a ton of specifications, like meal additions or requests to put condiments on the side. The food in itself was decent. I got to try the mezze platter, which was okay. They only gave us a few pieces of grilled pita, and wanted to charge us for more pita. We declined. The grilled pita was good, but not THAT good. It also seemed like our waiter randomly made up a price for the extra pita, as he kept stammering when we asked him about what the extra charge was. The burger that I ordered was delicious, and the fries were freshly cut and fried. My friends quipped that their food was good, but again, nothing that really wowed them. By the end of the meal, it seemed like the waitstaff was happy to be rid of us, as their faces looked overwhelmed. They did try to mask it as best they could, but we could still tell. Overall, not a very pleasant experience. To be fair, this might not be the place to bring a large group anyways, and the waitstaff did do their best to be patient. But the execution was definitely off the mark and the food isn’t amazing, so there’s not really any reason for me to come back.

We came for dinner. Locations is a bit odd, but inside is quite charming .Love the décor and the ambience. Our server was very nice and we never felt rushed. The food was very delicious. The had the WARM, AGEDWESTFIELDFARMSGOAT’S CHEESE and CHARREDPORTUGUESEOCTOPUS for starters and everything was tasty and delicious. For the first dish, based on the amount of cheese-more bread is needed. For dnner we shared the COUSCOUS-lamb, chicken, house-made merguez, roasted root vegetables, cumin yogurt, harissa. Large enough for 2 to share! But there were too many large chunks of potato in the bowl, would have loved this dish more if it had more couscous. Dessert was CRÈMECARAMEL –vanilla custard, orange caramel, marcona almond crumble. Yummy and just the perfect amount. We will be back to try other dishes.

Come here because I went to the old Café Noir but since then they changed locations. First gripe — it’s middle of lunch time and two items we wanted to order off the menu they are out of, seriously? They were out of the steak and tuna burger. Fine, so we had to order what was an equivalent of a ham sandwich and a hamburger. The burger was done medium and it was not dry but lacked flavor. My ftiend said his sandwich was OK. I also ordered the side salad which was also OK, nothing great. Last gripe, I tried to pay for the bill and then their credit card system is entirely down. We had to pay in cash. Overall this place is horribly ran, miss the old Café Noir. Definitely not coming back to this place.

Lovely little French bistro in Tribeca. The space is very nice, though the place seems to be a bit undiscovered right now… we were one of only two tables during lunchtime on a Friday. I really enjoyed my Grilled Chicken Breast and Saffron Rice, and my friend liked the Burger with Swiss Cheese. This place is close to my office, so I’ll likely be back for another meal. Prices were reasonable(our meal came to about $ 50, without any alcohol) and service was friendly.

Cute little place right on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle of Chinatown and Soho. I stopped in with my husband for a quick lunchtime bite. Was happy to see they have half portions of the salads because if you’re not hungry that works. Since I am ALWAYS hungry it allowed me to try multiple items off the menu. Win win! The beet salad was great. A good size half portion and I loved the cider vinaigrette. I would definitely come back for it. Also really enjoyed the chickpea fritters which was something new. They looked like polenta fries and had a great flavor to them and not too heavy/filling. Service was great but knocked off a star because it was sooooooooooooo slow to get our food. We waited 30 minutes and the restaurant was almost empty. I guess the French don’t rush their food so maybe this is why? Also, AMEX or CASH only!

The wine was good and the atmosphere was nice. Place was not crazy busy and i liked the music selection. Be warned — they only take AMEX! The server was really offended that I didnt know this when I handed him a visa to pay the bill. «Uh, it says it on the menu…» Well obviously its not clear or direct enough cause i didn’t see it. And there is no way i am the first or the last person who misses it. who is looking for information about payment options when they are deciding what to eat? Maybe the menu is the wrong place to mention that. How about put it on your board that hangs over the bar? I glanced at that several times while i was there. Or better yet, you can mention it when we order, if the idea that i wouldn’t know is really that offensive. Anyway, so bring cash if you aren’t an amex holder. Or else your server will hate you.

I have not been to this place for awhile, but I was horrified to discover that no one had written a review yet! So, here we go… If Joss Whedon and Lou Reed had a love child that child would hang out at this establishment. Why wouldn’t you?! Loved the sangria! Just realized that the restaurant has relocated. Be sure to check out the reviews from the restaurant’s previous location.
