If anyone reads my other reviews, they know about the disaster I had at Lexington Luggage where they fixed a bag with the wrong color leather…
Well, I brought it to Carlos. He did it and it is beautiful… you can’t even tell it was ever worked on. Highly Highly recommend.
BTW, the place looks like he will never find your stuff again after you give it to him. he will, but keep your tag, makes it go faster.

Carlos doesn’t deserve the low rating on Unilocal.I brought in a pair of boots to have the heel changed from a stiletto to a thicker heel, remove a platform, and lower the overall height of the shoe. Because I didn’t specify the kind of heel I wanted, I was rather nervous. But I just received the boots back with a beautiful heel that perfectly match the style of the boots, a new sole, and the height is perfect. Although it took an extra day to complete, they were really nice about it and delivered it to my apartment as soon as it was finished. I am slightly annoyed that the insole of my left boot has a weird bump in it which I really hope that will flatten over time or I might take it back and ask them to redo it. But regardless, Carlos made changes to my boots that another UWS cobbler said was impossible to do and he did it for a reasonable price, and for that, I am grateful.

HORRIBLE… if you care about your shoes/​boots at all don’t bring them here! He ruined a pair of my wedges & my roommate’s boots. I asked him to clean the canvas top part of the wedges and instead of telling me that this wasn’t possible he PAINTED over the stripes to «clean» them. The horrible job was so obvious and awful looking. No no no to bringing any shoe/​boots repairs or cleaning here!

I have brought many shoes here. Everything from polish jobs to total rebuilds/​salvage situations. I’ve always been amazed at what they’ve done. They come back looking amazing, and the service is usually pretty fast. I’ve no reason to risk going anywhere else.

HORRIBLE!!! Do not bring anything that you are attached to. I received a simple purse for my birthday and the thin leather strap was much too long. They only had to cut it, glue the end, and sew. I even thought the $ 10 they were charging was a little steep for something that simple. They said it would be ready tomorrow. Well, I dropped it off Monday, came back at 4pm Tuesday and it was not ready. I returned Wed and looked at it. The strap was cut too short, it was frayed and sewn with a few sloppy, uneven stitches, the lining showing, no glue, TERRIBLE! I told them to fix it, I came back Thursday and it looked exactly the same! They said, «Oh, you want it to look like the other side?» DUH! They said come back later today. I returned 4 hours later, they still had not started it. I am still waiting for it… Do not go there.
