I came here with a friend to catch up. We were trying to find a meeting point between the upper east and upper west and landed on Cassidy’s. The area is pretty low key and there weren’t too many bars to choose from. That being said, we had a great time! They have pretty good happy hour deals and the food was excellent(buffalo chicken sandwich for the win). We were seated at a cute table in the corner and were there for a while just hanging out. I’m glad we landed on this place! Would recommend if in the area.

We wandered into Cassidy’s for lunch after wandering around downtown. The ambience is that of an older Irish pub. Its a very large restaurant and we had no issue being seated. We didn’t have much time, as we were catching a show, and our server was very fast and attentive during our time there. We ordered a round of drinks, and the mixed drinks were nice and strong… almost too strong! The server recommended we order salads and sandwiches, as they would be out faster. I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad($ 14), which was pretty standard with grilled chicken, crumpled bacon, avocado, diced egg, Bleu cheese, tomato and field greens– a bit overpriced for what was served. I disliked the balsamic dressing it came with(thankfully it was on the side), so I ordered honey mustard instead. My friends appeared satisfied with their various salads and sandwiches, and we were in and out in the amount of time we had. I wouldn’t make a special trip to come back here, although maybe their other bar snacks and entrees are tastier.

If I were to visit again I would only go to the bar. Place was clean and busy with others having a good time. Wife and I dropped by for something to eat and an adult beverage. She got fish and chips and liked. I got the French dip which just did not taste good. Only finished half of sandwich. After taste was just bad — like metallic or something. Draft Stella’s were great. Price was reasonable. But doubt I return.

Average-at-best bar fare — in our group of 3 there were two singles and a strikeout. Below average service, even when we were the only table in the place. Not really sure how they can call themselves an Irish pub — it’s really just a below average neighborhood pub with an Irish accent or two. Dismal beer selection. It is a few bucks cheaper than many of the other places in the area, but you get what you pay for!

We the girls came for dinner and drinks before The new year. We solely picked this place based on location for traveling home and bus and subway lines very close by. An interesting mix of tourists and local patrons. How can you have 2 servers and not 1 busboy ? What the Monday before New Years should be busy? Beer on bar special warm and flat Bar rescue would be mad Anyway three orders went in and only 1 came out perfect Bravoto a really good burger Nachos came out cold and the other person Got her food an hour late because the server Put in wrong order. Major lack of team work between the servers. At least the meal that waited an hour to be eaten was removed off check I wish I could have given more stars but I’m a straight shooter. Such a nice and cozy spot Needs work on all levels Undecided if I would come back if in the area

Pleasantly surprised by this homey neighborhood bar with great music and good food and service. The bands are a treat! Come for a truly enjoyable evening of food and entertainment. Very reasonably priced, conveniently located, and best of all FUN!

I came to CASSIDY’s because they host a cool and low key Live Music event on Saturday nights. Two veterans of the NYC Blues Jam scene– TJ Hogarty and Mike Berman play cool tunes that go well with Beer and Shots. The burgers are great and the performances really bring the party. I have invited friends and family to this bar, everyone loves it because it truly is a neighborhood IRISHPUB in midtown… Everyone is welcome and feels at home, not fancy but real homey.

Warm beer and terrible food. Bartenders are very rude! Also overheard the bartender talking to the other bartender how he was going to F*** the girl at the end of the bar that night.disgusting. Never will be back again!

Amazing restaurant. After leaving another Irish pub that took too long to seat us, we tried Cassidy’s. We were seated right away. The waitress was so nice. My sister and I were there to honor my dad. He passed away a year ago(10⁄15) and we’re Irish, so we wanted to make a toast to my dad. The food was wonderful and the service was great! Would definitely go here again!

Fabulous go-to dive. Calamari is perfect. Draw is the bartenders, all. Do NOT take your relationship to the next level without running her/him by the bar staff.

I used to come here weekly and the service was good. Tonight the service was horrific. The waitress was rude And seemed to have a real problem serving people that were of mixed race. She did not even serve our drinks in front of us. We spent $ 200 and it felt like we were unwelcome the entire time. Never again ! When we complained to the manager we were told we should understand she’s probably tired because she works long hours… What !? That’s not fault, nor should that me my concern as a customer, especially when I see you treating other people nicer. Ridiculous

It is funny to see other less than 4-star reviews here… Folks — this is the real deal Irish Pub. Food? You’re in a pub. The burger has always been solid, but seriously, who goes here to eat? The staff here are amazing. Any time I am in town I usually spend several evenings before or after shows/dinner for a drink or two here — without fail. Especially if Ewan is working. Go here for reasonably priced drinks prepared by exceptional bar staff. I’ve never left here anything but totally satisfied.

Great Irish pub with friendly female bartenders. Very authentic. Reasonable prices for Midtown. Haven’t had the food, but it looks good(especially the burger). The Chips are the thick kind that are typical of Irish pubs. Note: I come here nearly every day for a lunchtime Guinness and can’t speak to the service at other times.

A regular bar in an irregular neighborhood. Very reasonable prices. Had a decent Black Jack burger. Service in the back is a bit sparce, however. At least, one can relax as a solo diner at a table and not feel out-of-place. Not too many places left like this in Midtown West.

It’s always nice when a random pub becomes a great night. Stopped by for a drink after work. The place is small, but with enough seats at the bar we were able to get one. There are not a ton of TVs, so maybe not the best place to watch sports, but you can still see the games while also talking to your company(sig other loves this(kidding), but best for the both of us). Bartenders are very friendly! They even made sure we fully participated in the Coors Light promotion going on at the bar that night. And, the food is good! I had the penna pasta special with sausage and prosciutto that was really good — and other half had the chicken cordon bleu with butter gravy he just loved. Great hang out, very comfortable spot to hang out, and reasonable prices too($ 4BL during HH!)

Came in about 11:30 am, place was empty except for a few regulars. I ordered a Sam seasonal, cream of mushroom soup, along with fish & chips. By the time the soup came the place was paged out with rude regulars who crowed up the bar and wound up forcing me to move down for their buddies. The beer was warm at best(or at least not as cold as it should have been) the«cream of mushroom» was far from a creamed soup. More like someone blended up mushrooms in a broth. The fish and chips were pre-packaged frozen cod that was not fresh at all. Cod was rubbery instead of crispy, and had no taste. I also ordered up some Calamari to see how bad that was, and it wound up being frozen pre-made as well. The coating was bland and very floury in taste. As a food critic for a local newspaper I can not recommend this place for anything.

Love this pub! Come here more than twice and the waitresses will know you! Always warm and welcoming, I come here often for lunch. The food is consistent and good for a fair price in Midtown. Again, this is a pub so come for the pub fare! Don’t order the burrito expecting it to come close to a Mexican joint. Go for the burgers, onion rings, fries and french onion soup. All delicious! My friend always gets their shepherd’s pie. They have awesome salads, too! Cajun chicken is my favorite. So go for the pub atmosphere. Drink & be merry!

It was very nice to find a place in midtown where you don’t have to pay a fortune for ordinary food. We went there not expecting much since it was just a pub. french onion soup– the gouda had a nice smokey taste that added a nice extra flavor. fish and chips– fish was very bland. The batter was not only bland but also too thick and overpowering. The fries were standard frozen ones. shepards pie– pretty flavorful. It wasn’t too overpowering with tomatoes or peas. It was very meaty and the gravy had a nice consistency. Overall it’s a pretty standard bar.

Always my first stop when I come this way. Bartenders are the real charm of this place. But they don’t and won’t take your shit. True Irish pub. Come with a good attitude and you will leave happier. I read bad reviews about this place and I laugh. It’s almost always like they are coming to a pub expecting top-notch food and getting mad when it’s just ok. Irish pubs are plentiful here, and food is gonna be hit or miss at most of them. Come here to drink. Be respectful. Hell, be obnoxious. I will be at the corner of the bar laughing my ass off while you get wound up. Then, when your tantrum is over, I will buy you a pint of Guinness and cheers you to a true Irish pub experience. Welcome to Cassidy’s.
