CCLC at 4 NY Plaza

Selecting a daycare for our son was not an easy process — especially since we were nervous new parents. While you can visit a daycare and think it might be the right fit — you just simply don’t know until after a couple weeks in. In fact, when my wife and I were trying to find the daycare for our son, we visited just about every one in the neighborhood where we live (Upper West Side). While there were some that seemed ‘ok’ at the time, we simply wanted the best for our son.
While time was ticking down before he was born, we were starting to get nervous on trying to decide which daycare that we should enroll him in. Still not satisfied with the ones we saw near us, we decided to check out CCLC as it was close to both of our workplaces. The biggest disadvantage of this though was that we would have to bring him on the commute with us every day.
When our son started at CCLC, we instantly knew that we made the right decision. We were impressed time after time again with seeing him hit big milestones in development and the continuous care and love that all of his teachers gave him, and every student, every day. Not only are his teachers wonderful, the administrators at the center (Lisa & Evelyn) ALWAYS greet our son with a warm smile every day. Everyone at CCLC from the top down carry themselves well and always have a great attitude.
Their constant communication with his development along with daily check ins with their Tadpoles app makes us feel like we are a part of our sons day, every day.
One other very important item that CCLC takes great care in is the hiring of their teachers. Most of the teachers are well above the minimum education requirements, have had great prior experience with children, and are simply happy to be at work. Knowing that your child’s teachers actually love your child makes you feel completely at ease throughout the day. After all, while we spend most of our waking hours at work, your child spends most of their waking hours with their teachers and friends at school; its extremely important that their influences throughout the day are positive/​caring/​smiling/​etc.
Compared to other centers CCLC definitely had the best cleaning policies (nowhere else did we visit that had booties for the infant room, which should be required!) and our son is hardly sick.
As time went on and things were still going great for our son at CCLC, however, the commute was a huge hurdle. While not completely sold on wanting to live downtown, we decided to try and move him to a daycare up by us as having him take the subway with us everyday was not ideal.
We visited the daycare up by us 3 times and thought everything would be good — but then it happened:
Reality hit.
After a couple of weeks of feeling like a number and hardly even an acknowledgement of making our son fit into the classroom hurt us terribly as parents. Not only that, but majority of the teachers at the center didn’t seem like they wanted to be around kids at all. Our son screamed every time we were walking him to daycare and completely stopped eating his food.
Needless to say, my wife and I were horrified and made the decision to remove him from the daycare immediately and re-​enroll him into CCLC.
Luckily there was a space left for our son to get back into his classroom.
When our son made it back to CCLC, everyone gave him the warmest of welcomes and plenty of hugs to go around!
Our son got back and we honestly couldn’t be happier. Sure the commute is still tough every now and again, but having the reassurance that our son is getting the best care possible throughout the day makes it all worth it.
Our son started at CCLC as an infant, graduated to the toddler room, and will soon be in the two’s room! All have been great experiences and we know that two’s will continue to be great as the Center does an amazing job with transitions and he already requests to go over to the two’s room in the morning!
If you are considering having your son or daughter enrolled at CCLC, you should. The teachers and administrators are amazing and do a terrific job day after day.

My baby started at CCLC at 4 months. Naturally, I was worried when I first signed him up, but my worries abated after the very first day, and now, months later, I am (and have been) 100% thrilled with our choice. The teachers are caring and nurturing, and they provide the babies with all kinds of wonderful sensory experiences that I never would have thought to do if I had decided to stay home with him. At 4 months old, my son was finger painting with watercolors, and touching all sorts of fabrics and textures, among many other wonderful activities. He is learning from his «older» friends by starting to crawl and sit up on his own, and is visibly excited when I bring him in and he see’s his teachers and classmates, making him into a very verbal and social baby. CCLC sends me pictures of my son in class, and has excellent communication with me on all matters. I love what CCLC is doing for my son and I know he is benefiting tremendously from being in such a wonderful and supportive environment. I highly recommend this terrific place.

I have a 2 y.o. son who is currently enrolled at CCLC at 4 NY Plaza since Sept. 2013. He was at another daycare closer to my work until this fall, when he was getting too big to commute with everyday. I toured many facilities downtown and talked to several different directors at the various sites. Not until I toured CCLC did I feel I found a new (2^nd) home for him! Leaving my child in the care of others for the majority of the week, is a big decision. Everyone at this CCLC location is very warm, very friendly, and genuinely concerned about my little guys well-​being. They all conduct themselves with a high level of professionalism appropriate for the setting. Aside from the extraordinary care he receives, the facility itself is brand new and in great condition. All the toys have a learning component to them. His daily activities are recorded for me and have a focus on building on his developmental skills. I couldn’t be happier with our decision to have him at CCLC 4 NY Plaza!
