Charlie’s Custom Tailor

I don’t write reviews very often (this is only my second on Unilocal), but Charlie’s Custom Tailor is so fantastic it would be very remiss of me not to leave them a positive review. My first experience with this shop was last summer when I had them re-​tailor an older Dunhill linen suit that was a bit too long and baggy by current standards. I needed the suit within a week as I was taking it to Cannes with me. The owner Marcos and his team did an amazing job and had zero problem with the turnaround time. Since then I have only visited Charlie’s for all my tailoring needs. I’ve had them tailor a tuxedo, a velvet tuxedo jacket, a few suits, and several pairs of pants and all the tailoring has been expertly performed. They do an amazing job of opening the buttonholes on off-​the-​rack suit jacket and blazer sleeves. Charlie’s may be a bit pricier than other tailors but their expertise is well worth it. I just left Marcos with a new double-​breasted suit over Memorial Day weekend. I’m picking it up early next week, I know it will look as great as all the other work Marcos and his team have done for me!

Extraordinarily honest– I brought in a tuxedo to be tailored for my wedding and after spending a long time measuring and fitting, he pointed out to me that there was a hole in the sleeve of my jacket– he could have done the easy thing and just charged me for the alteration, but he recommended that I get a new tuxedo for my wedding. Really appreciated and will recommend /​go to Charlie’s in the future for any alterations. Very grateful.

Can’t disagree with anyone who has left a review for Charlie’s. Walked into Charlie’s after the rank joint across the street screwed up my appointment, I came in from Washington DC. I left the rank joint steaming mad and then I looked up and saw the display in the window. I walked in and was greeted by Marco and he made me feel at home. I was introduced to all the fabrics and styles that were available. Three fitting for a 3 peace athletic cut BANGER with shirt, the suit was SLAMMIN!!! Marco even shipped it for me, can’t tell you how much I appreciate it you lil homie. Thanks!!!

Good job on the suit jacket and turn around. Very pricy compared to some of the other places in town. The work they did was really good.

Great place for your suit and alteration needs! I’ve done 2 made to measure suits and they came out fabulous. Lots of customization options at an affordable price. Alterations are also a breeze, I’ve had many slacks tapered and hemmed and suits adjusted to fit better. Worth checking them out!

I’ve been coming to Charlie’s Custom Tailor for about 2 years now and I always leave the place satisfied. Marco and his staff do exceptional work and their turnaround time is second to none. The staff is extremely friendly and you always know what you’ll get with your tailoring at Charlie’s Custom Tailor. These guys are the best. I’ve worked almost exclusively with Marco. I’ve had one custom suit made by him. I was extremely happy with the excellent tailoring. I decided to give him two of my older suits (both custom) to fix because I wasnt happy with the way they were made. It involved a lot of work: fix the shoulders and the entire fit of the suit, take out the pleats in the pants etc. They did a fantastic job, couldn’t be happier. They are not cheap but completely worth it, in the long run, its cheaper because they will get it right the first time or keep working, free of charge, till they do.

I had an excellent experience at Charlie’s. They did alterations for my suit within 24 hours and even ironed the shirt I had got with me to try out the suit. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Loved them! Great customer service and everybody was extremely nice and friendly (especially Maria and Ruben!) they were really knowledgeable about the suit that I needed to tailor and they were extremely professional!

Have been a repeat customer, returning 5 times within a few months. I felt so strongly positive about Marco and his team that I had to sign up and write a review. Always tailors my clothes specifically to what I want, makes great suggestions on what would look better or which of my suggestions may not work out, very knowledgeable about suit brands, bespoke, etc. Overall, is extremely skilled in his craft.

Whenever I buy a suit, I have to take it with a tailor, to fit measure because nothing fits on me from the shops, the cost is usually high for the alteration and I been tried many tailor, so I decided to try with a tailor made custom​suit. After exploring a couple of places, i come to Charlie’s custom tailor and the care and service is excellent and professional, I was treated by Marcos, I confess that in the beginning was unsure to put my closet in her hands, but after hearing about his career in tailoring, (family business), I knew I was in good hands, talking about the kind of work I do and how I could get more out of my clothes, also prices of clothing store and custom made, I understood that my clothes had to be tailored this for the shape of my body. Anyway could never be better than one made for me, Also I spent the same money like to get in the store, thanks to Marcos for being honest and also for the work you’ve done for me, the services is totally very good and professional, I’m really satisfied.

These guys are top notch. I had a small tear in my leather jacket, I called ahead and asked if they could do the repairs same day, he invited me to wait and the hole was repaired seamlessly in 20 min!

Made an appointment online to alter my newly-​arrived (and too large) Indochino suit. The support reps at Indochino recommended Charlie’s. Marco took time to listen to my concerns and desired changes. Then, he efficiently pinned and marked everything. He discussed the cost of the necessary changes and, instead of having me allow him to make the changes, suggested I return the suit so it could be remade without incurring additional expense (as the cost of the changes would exceed the $ 75 Indochino credit). He provided me updated measurements and even left all the pins in place so the suit can be adjusted to fit perfectly. For all of this help, he charged me nothing. I know where I’m going next time I need alterations.
