I am just about thru with Citi. Every few months my login randomly stops working and I have to go thru and create a new username and/or password. I have a special checking account that’s supposed to not incur fees and they also recently stripped that away and started charging me account maintenance fees without any prior notice. When I signed up for their Double Cash rewards card, I was promised 15 months 0% interest with a 12.99% interest rate. The online application system failed to capture the invitation code and they failed to honor it, instead giving me 12 months no-interest at a 18.99% interest rate. I called and wrote and was told to send a copy of the invitation and they would match it, no problems. Got a reply back from their executive office that this offer was based on my credit worthiness at the time the letter was mailed. In other words, they’re acting as if in between the time I got the original offer and the time they reviewed my credit(which negatively impacted my credit score TWICE now), that my credit changed drastically, which is had not. Also within the last year or so, Citi decided to sell all of its branches and customer’s data to BB&T without our consent or any sort of notice(outside of when I got a letter from BB&T saying I was now their customer — to hell I am!). I’ve been a Citi customer since 2006, but after the way I’ve been treated this past year, I won’t be a Citi customer much longer.
