Terrible experience with Clay Pot. My fiancé bought an engagement ring for me at Clay Pot Nolita. Unfortunately, we have had a series of problems with it over a 2 month time period: Two days into wearing it, a stone had fallen out of the band. We brought the ring back to the store to get it fixed, and the sales person recommended sizing it down. I picked up the ring again 10 days later. That same night, I noticed that, while the missing stone had been replaced, now another stone was missing! In addition, the ring turned out much too tight. So, I went back to Clay Pot again to have that second missing stone replaced. The salesperson indicated they were going to have the ring re-built entirely in order to make sure all stones are secure. We had some back and forth about what ring size would be appropriate. Unfortunately, when I picked up the ring 2 weeks later, the stones were intact, but the band of the ring was uneven and again it felt too tight. When I went to have the ring measured at another jewelry store, it indeed turned out smaller than we had agreed on — no wonder it’s too tight! So, recap: First there’s a stone missing; while that got replaced, another one fell out and neither the designer nor the sales people at Clay Pot noticed; then, they«re-built» the ring in the wrong size. Two and half months of back and forth with Clay Pot around missing stones and inappropriate ring size. What is worse, I contacted the owner about the latest issue and she never even responded. I know mistakes happen, but Clay Pot staff handled this situation poorly, and this kind of disappointing experience is not something any new bride would wish for. I don’t recommend Clay Pot — poor quality and poor service. Not something you want for an expensive ring that’s supposed to last a lifetime.

We got my gorgeous diamond engagement ring here 5 months ago and had a delightful experience. We wandered in a week ago and THEYREMEMBEREDOURNAMES! These folks are the absolute best, and have an amazing selection of incredible items. Couldn’t recommend them more!

My boyfriend and I went in to start our engagement ring search and were wowed by the attentiveness and care of the staff! We had never looked at rings and I was clueless as to what I liked — Golda(in Park Slope) was able to point out different traits in the rings I was picking out. She gave us such helpful tips and helped me figure out what I wanted! We had such a good time and we’re ordering a ring soon ;) I LOVE that Clay Pot works exclusively with small designers and artisan craftsmen. It is a family owned business. They have so many designs that are unique or one of a kind. There is definitely something for everyone in their collections! Thank you Clay Pot!

After months of being strung along by another jeweler who never delivered on our promised engagement ring, I walked into Clay Pot in a deflated mood to see if they could quickly get us an engagement ring before the engagement was over! From start to finish, Jen and the Clay Pot team were incredibly helpful, creative, supportive, and efficient. I explained my pretty specific wishes — pink sapphire with some halo and slightly raised so a band could sit flush against it all in rose gold(it sounds a little ridiculous, but, thank to Clay Pot, actually just unique and fun). Jen pulled out a handful of design options right away from different designers, and talked me through the pros and cons and look and feels of each, as well as alterations that might have to be done in order to customize the ring to what I wanted. Within a couple days she had arranged for me to meet with the fabulous Lori McLean to talk through options. I also can’t say enough great things about Lori — her style is clean and a little vintage with hints of whimsy. It’s modern but it will last! And she seamlessly integrated my desired alterations into an existing ring so that I got exactly what I wanted and can’t even tell it’s different then the original model I loved so much. Lori also sourced a beautiful pink sapphire, and got information about its origin so we could feel comfortable about the ethics, and that is no small feat(especially because she did it in a week!). Throughout production, Jen kept me informed, warmly supported and tolerated my nervousness and answered any question kindly and promptly. Last– Jen and Lori were also refreshingly transparent about price and process and didn’t make me feel like a jerk for wanting to have a sense of what was going into my ring. In the end, Lori and Jen put together a totally unique, beautiful ring and were incredibly fun, efficient, down to earth, communicative, straight forward, professional, and transparent. It’s really the perfect process and I can’t recommend them enough. If you want a unique ring, from an independent designer, from people who know what they are talking about and also will be down to earth, kind, respectful, professional and fun to boot, I would go here in a heartbeat!

Hands down the best independent jewelry store in NYC. Staff is always warm and helpful. It’s a little bit of Park Slope in SoHo. I guarantee you’ll find something unique and special here.

CP Nolita has a wonderful selection of jewelry. There are so many gorgeous alternative wedding/engagement rings and some cute, affordable pieces too. The home goods are lovely… I purchased a couple candles. The packaging is nice for gifts and the girls who work at the store are very helpful.
