Purchased a candle holder that I THOUGHT was by a local artist since this has the look/feel of a gallery. No refunds — exchange or store credit only. Found the item online that evening for considerable less($ 75 there but $ 58.00 on line with no shipping.) The item was on line in a nation-wide chain store. Exact same item. Shop around!!!

Christiane Celle, formerly of Calypso, has flawless taste. And I am happy to see she is again curating more than photography!

Good small arts bookstore & gallery. Enjoyed the art but the books more. Also have some gift-type items(tote bags, etc.). Appreciated the fact that it’s open on Monday when many of the other galleries & museums are closed.

It looks like a gallery, with art and books in it! I like art and books, so that’s all good. But it’s the basic setup — white walls, brightly lit, big picture windows. There a small room to the side devoted just to exhibitions, and a larger room that also features art, and a selection of art-related books. The focus is mostly on art photography. I really wasn’t that impressed by the quality of the work in the exhibition we went to see… but exhibitions change, and I’d certainly go back to check out another opening. Hopefully next time I’ll get there before all of the refreshments run out, too!

It’s a nice gallery. I wasn’t super in love with any of the art there but they did have the exact art book I’ve been wanting, in both sizes.

Fun destination to view current exhibits, or the hundreds of art books left out for the perusal of customers.

This is a gorgeous little Soho gallery-bookshop, a separate store to the 424 Broome Street location which is just around the corner. I could simply spend hours just flicking through the beautiful array of art books at the back of the store which are wonderfully curated in the corner space and throughout the entrance-gallery area. Every exhibition I have seen there so far has featured excellent artists with an impressive portfolio of work. I came here yesterday to seek out photographer Magda Biernat’s latest work which was stunning(the Broome Street location previously hosted another exhibition of hers). I was also delighted to see James and Karla Murray’s Storefront Images on display– a book I recently purchased at the St. Mark’s Bookshop, fantastic to see large format prints. Staff were friendly and very helpful. In particular a nice(I’m guessing German) gentleman talked to me for a while about Biernat’s work and showed me some of his favourite pieces from her book which was also on display. It’s a pleasure coming back here every time– I highly recommend it.
