Great selection, but way, way overpriced. Just paid $ 25 for a Four(4!) pack of Dogfish Ale. I made the mistake of telling my wife what I paid for the beer when I got home, that on top of blowing it on Easter(because I’m Jewish/she’s not) pretty much did me in. Going to bed now.

Just moved into the neighborhood. Super cute, love coming in here and checking out the selection. As someone mentioned, no very few(no?) prices marked. First time I was pretty surprised, but figured I just picked something rare by luck. By the third time it was clear that they simply charge outrageous prices for everything. Even random ice cream that’s $ 5 on FreshDirect(!) is $ 8 there. Sorry, I’d love to support them, but they’ve gone too far price wise.

One of the best beer selections I’ve seen in NY but unfortunately way too expensive. You’ll pay ~30% more for any bottle here than you would pay in other shops around the city. Also, they don’t seem to store their beer properly– multiple times I’ve opened a bottle from here and it tastes flat and weird. Some of those bottles have been on the shelf /in the cooler for years, since I started coming here. I only buy beer here if it’s sold out everywhere else and I really want it. If you’re in the area go to Whole Foods or St. Gambrinus.

I don’t come here for the beer, so the other reviews about the beer prices may be appropriate. I come here for the late night snacks and ice cream selection. This place has everything you ever craved and nothing you ever needed. Experimental, weird snacks, great chocolate and crackers and … It’s just hard to explain. The staff is great and they are open all kinds of weird hours.

I’ve been going to this store off and in for 2 – 3 years now, but tonight I’m calling it quits. I used to love it. Who wouldn’t love the amazing craft beer selection they have. They have things I can’t find anywhere else! The high prices have always been a bit of a problem for me but I would tell myself, «They have an amazing selection! I’ll pay a little extra to have that much choice.» A few months ago I balked for the first time. It was a canned six-pack of Mikkeler Hipster Ale, a rare one at the time, that slowed me down. It was $ 20.00. «Ok,» I tried to convince myself, «that might be justifiable. It is rare.» But no, that crossed even my expensive craft beer drenched line. I put it back. After that, I didn’t go there quite as often. But, I still thought. «Hey, they’re nice. They have to make a living. It’s ok to pay a little more one in a while.» Tonight though, was over the pail. I was nearby and wanted to treat myself to something. I picked out a six of Rogue Dead Guy Ale. It’s not an easy coast beer, but it’s widely available. It was just what I wanted. I brought it up to the counter, set it down, and the clerk keyed in $ 24.99. «Wait,» I said. «This beer is $ 25.00?» «Yes?» «No thanks,» I said and walked out of the store for the last time. It’s a shame really. I like the people there. They have a great selection. But they seem to be really pushing what is acceptable price-wise. Of course, they can choose to capitalize on the economic changes in the neighborhood. But, I can also choose not to support them anymore. As much as I’d like to, I just can’t.

This place deserves way more love than it’s getting. The staff are insanely nice, they make awesome coffee(Stumptown BTW) and they have the best beer selection this side of BoCoCa. And FYI — craft beers are expensive at every bodega — it is what it is. You pay for the convenience.

When you charge $ 15 for an 18oz bottle of beer, someone in the store should know why it costs so much. Too expensive and no service to justify the high prices.

I’m a huge fan of the selection of beer, however, the prices have been creeping up over the past months. Or it appears that way. The owner is very friendly, and the employees are fast to respond, but I cannot justify spending almost $ 50 on 8 bottles of beer. I know that in order to survive, selling of single bottles has to be marked up slightly more in a retail setting. I really hope it changes, as more customers discover this new business. Just beware, prices are not marked(yet?), so don’t be surprised if you feel like trying a few different bottles instead of the whole four or six pack. It could be $ 5 a bottle. Will continue shopping here, as it has all the benefits and requirements for a great craft beer store, but the pricing will just limit my purchases.
