Came here on a whim with my friends on a late night food run after work and was amazed. The food was amazing! Words can’t even express how good it was. I ordered the pernil main course meal and cleaned my plate! Had the tres leche mango cake for dessert and it was so good mmmm. Can’t wait to come back!

Love this place. It’s casual and has good music. Open 24⁄7. The oxtail empanadas and veggie burger are may favorite items to get again and again. The veggie burger has cumin and is a different texture than u might find elsewhere. More like shredded, fresh veggies. The yucca fries are great pretty good too. Check in on Unilocal or free ice tea. Lucio and the staff are always attentive and friendly!

We come here from Staten Island! It’s convenient because it’s 24 hours. The dinner is more on the expensive side but the breakfast is amazing at any time. Genuine Cuban food. I had a Sangria and a spiked milkshake. The milkshake was too strong and I wasn’t looking to get wasted so I didn’t finish it. The root beer float is AMAZING. Cute place and atmosphere.

After last night, I am adding Coppelia to my list of top food places to go to in the city. The service was excellent, the casual vibe as well, and the food was on point. Wait time was zero, even though it looks pretty popular from what I see on Unilocal and even though there were already lots of people inside. The other highlight of Coppelia is that it is 24 hours. I know where I’m going the next time I stay out too late. You can also unlock a free iced tea or soda from Unilocal, which I forgot. Overall, I’d highly recommend this place to everyone who is reading this at the moment.

Really surprised by what a great brunch I had here! We felt adventurous so decided to go outside of our usual east village brunch options. Had multiple empanadas(the oxtail one is amazing!) and omelettes. Service was good and the place just felt like a traditional Cuban diner. No frills no fuss just good Cuban food. Would come back!

I regretted not going in without starving myself for two days. I just wanted to order everything. However, all I could was to order a few appetizers and sides(and a well-needed drink) today. Everything was fantastic, and everything makes me wonder why I didn’t walk in hungry. I’m not a dessert fan at all, but somehow I was drawn to the Malanga Cake. It seemed like the weirdest combination you can possibly imagine in a dessert. Fear not my friends… ITWASSOEFFINGGOOD. I’m hoping I’d have enough time to go back before I leave. I really do. Go check it out(and go with an open mind).

Best 24 hour spot I’ve found so far in the city. Everything I’ve ever ordered off the menu has never really disappointed. However, once I discovered the Copa Lolita(vanilla flan served with coconut and mango sorbet) I haven’t been able to order anything else! 1 order is quite filling and more than enough to share between two people.

My favorite diner just because of the Mac n Chicharones. Game over! Honestly I haven’t had anything bad here. Cubano, skirt steak, pernil, the burger, eggs benedict, all delicious. But the star of the show is the Mac n Chicharones. Keep up the good work Coppelia!

So disappointed by the size of the food here. The only reason why is loses 2 stars. 2 stars because it was so incredibly small that the tacos are not even worth it. Mind as well go to a taco truck and get an authentic one for half the price. The only thing that filled me up was the chips and guac. Thank goodness they give you a platter full of freshly made tortilla chips, which was great by the way… So if you’re to get anything, get the chips and guac. If you take a look at my pictures, you’ll see that the tacos are about the size of my hand, which doesn’t say much because I’m an asian woman that’s 5’3″. The tacos can be done in 3 bites. It was decent, but I was so disappointed by the size that I gave up when it came out. I lost all hope when I was that my $ 4 was wasted in what could have been two delicious tacos rather than one. The mac and cheese was good though. Maybe I chose the wrong foods for this place because it sounds like people loved their rice and beans. Might have to come back and give it another go…

This might be one of my favorite places in NYC. First of all, come here with foodie friends who aren’t afraid to try a bunch of different food. Quality is consistent every time I come here. But the main reason why I’ve decided to give this establishment a perfect score is because they make my favorite beverage I never knew I needed in my life. The Margarita Cubano is the best mixed drink I’ve ever had. I know this statement seems really profound and borders hyperbole, but I assure you I’m being honest. Service is generally great here. There have been a couple times that I’ve come in at 7:05pm and the bartender allows me to order a drink at happy hour prices. I love that and them, and so does my wallet. Ambiance: totally unassuming from the outside, yet warm and(always) crowded on the inside. I never really have a long wait here because of the fast turnover. I hope this place never changes! Keep being awesome and serving great food/beverage. One last thought: for people complaining about their food in these reviews, don’t come to a Cuban place and order a chicken sandwich. It’s a general rule that the food a restaurant specializes in will be their best menu options… just a thought.

Pretty much walking distance from bars and lounges. OPENALLDAY24⁄7! Perfectttt. We went late at night and it was really crowded but still didn’t have to wait for a table so I suppose we came at perfect timing. The food was pretty good but the service was just soooo slow. They also forgot two dishes for our order when the rest of the food came out. It was also difficult to flag down a server to get our check. And even when we already did ask for our check, it took a while to get our bill back. Because the food was still good and it is convenient that this place is open 24/7, I would still come back. Just don’t expect great service or come on an empty stomach or be in a hurry! You might have to wait a while before you get served, etc.

Great menu, reasonable prices(breakfast all day!) Waitstaff was attentive, if not a bit aggressive. It’s always a bit off-putting when they ask you to dictate what you’d like to leave for a tip on the card. I’m not sure why this bothers me, but I’m not a fan of the pressure to think in the moment and have a tendency to feel guilty.

Food: Very Good Service: Very Good Ambience: Good I had this spot bookmarked for sometime finally stopped by one morning. I absolutely love this place. How much do I like it you ask? I have eaten here 3 times in the past 10 days. Every time the food has been great and the service has been good. I highly recommend trying the Hash de costilla, the oxtail empanadas and the café con leche. Also do ask for the hot sauce because it is Amazing too. I did not originally ask for it but the waiter assumed that I was brown so just brought it out with me meal and said I know you will like this. Wellll he was not wrong :).

You don’t find many 24-hour diners with the kind of quality food you get here. And you’ve guessed it: Latin American fusion + 24 hours = a lot of inebriated/hungover clientele in the wee hours of the morning. I’ve had the oxtail empanada, which is decent, but nothing mind-blowing as some reviews might suggest. The ropa vieja is a favorite, and you’ll get heapings of deliciousness that tastes like your abuela cooked it. The fish tacos are good, but it’s an appetizer, so the portion is teeny. I was a bit disappointed that they couldn’t swap the flour tortilla for a corn tortilla. The entrée taco could be made with a corn tortilla but it couldn’t be a fish taco. The fish taco is an appetizer only but it can’t be made with a corn tortilla… Bizarre. If you don’t like crowds or noise, don’t come during regular meal times or late nights. It gets super crowded, and people generally stand around the door waiting for tables to free up, so getting even past the doorway can be daunting. Prepare for an intimate meal: You’ll hear the latest dish from the lives of the people sitting on either side of you. Walk-in only.

I really love the overall business plan for this space. It’s a 24hr Cuban diner that doesn’t look like a diner at all! The décor in here feels so authentic and cool. The ambiance is pretty cool — I guess people are turned up at every hour of the day. The food was fantastic. I had two orders of their fish tacos because they were that good. It’s funny because as I was eating them, I thought, «Wow these tacos are similar to Toloache» — which I recently fell in love with. Turns out, they are sister restaurants! Funny thing though, Toloache is Mexican and Coppelia is Cuban — yet they have the same dish hmmm, authentic? Maybe not. Delicious? HELLYES. The only reason this place is getting 4 stars and not 5 is because the service was horrible. I want to assume this was an isolated incident and our inattentive waiter was just having a really bad day. But when he’s treating the table next to us just fine and completely disregarding our table — then that’s an issue for me. He had a bad attitude the entire time, only came over when we called him over — yet the table next to us got all the service. He forgot utensils and napkins when we asked for it so we had the busboy bring them over. He didn’t care to answer our questions about the menu, just shrugged his shoulders. When we took too long to decide he just walked away — not even saying«I’ll give you a few more minutes». But of course, when the check came he was suddenly the NICEST guy ever… when it was time to tip. Incredibly disappointing considering how awesome everything else was.

I came here for brunch with a friend over the weekend. It’s an adorable Cuban diner, with cool Christmas/festive decorations all around. I loved their cute little Christmas tree! There were so many appetizing choices, so it was really tough to decide which one I wanted. I chose the omelette and got to choose 3 ingredients. I had mine with bacon, cheese and mushroom. The omelette also came with home fries and Cuban toast. Before our entrees came, the server came over with a plate of goodies: Cheese bread, mini muffin and butterfly cookie. I loved the variety… This is way better than any bread basket I’ve ever gotten! The muffin tasted of banana walnut and had a sprinkling of powdered sugar on top. It tasted sweet, but not too sweet and very moist. The cheese bread was pretty good, with a nice texture. The cookie was crispy, sugary and wonderful! Then my meal came and it was a lot! The omelette was delicious, with tons of crispy flavorful bacon that had no fat on it, the cheddar cheese was nice and melty and the mushroom was good and fresh. The home fries were decent, though would have liked them to be a bit more sauteed and seasoned. But the toast was really good, especially with butter and strawberry jam. I had a Diner’s Deck card for the restaurant which takes $ 10 off the order, but I had to order $ 30 worth of food for them to honor it. This goes to show that the pricing of this restaurant is very reasonable, as two entrees totaled approximately $ 20. So, I got a Dulce de Leche shake and the Almond Jam cookie to share with my friend. I liked the shake and it had a lovely caramel flavor, but was a little bit too sweet and not thick enough. Also, I was disappointed with the cookie. I could definitely taste the almond in the cookie, but it was very soft and the strawberry jam in the middle was too much. They didn’t seem to go well together. The service was great, very attentive and I would definitely come back. I need try the Nachos, which comes with Gouda-Meunster cheese and beef short ribs, next time!

Officially my new favorite spot. It’s sad I’m rarely in the area although perhaps a blessing in disguise since I would be ordering from Coppelia everyday! The outside is super cute decorated with festive lights and Christmas decorations that totally put you in the holiday spirit, and old school Cuban diner vibe to it that was certainly inviting. My friend and I came here after checking out the Etsy Cavalcade event at Chelsea Market. As a Miami native the minute she heard Unilocal friend Kathy X say Cuban she said Yasssss. It was so hard to decide since everything sounded delicious but we settled on: For her: 1. Mac and Chicharon(fried pork skin) 2. Empanada de pollo For Me: 1. Yucca Fries served with chimichurri sauce 2. Bowl of sopa de pollo(chicken soup) 3. Sweet corn empanada My ultimate favorite was the sweet corn empanada that had an unexpected melted cheese and served with a sauce that mmmm I can’t even, I wish I could have more right now! I tried the mojito which was okay, I guess I was hoping for more of the muddled mint flavor and more fizz in the seltzer water, it was the reason I almost rated the place as a 4 star. The service was great Lucio made sure to attend to us and granted all of our requests in a timely manner and the hostess and other staff members were friendly and welcoming. But the best part was the MUSIC! All my favorite old school merengue, bachata, and salsa jams! I was sad to have to leave during one of my favorite songs! We walked out stuffed and I said man the only thing that would have made this perfect was a Cortadito. When my friend said they had it at the menu in the restaurant I marched right back and got it to go! It was exactly what I needed and served in the cutest mini coffee cups! Love love love this place will be back ASAP!
