Super nice employees w a desire to offer good service at affordable prices. Most of the time there’s only one man on the job at a time so waiting is def a possibility. But it’s never that bad.

Needed to copy and pdf scan identification and financial materials in January 2016. Service was fast, efficient, polite and well priced ($ 12 for numerous items).
This is the closest copy store to Rockefeller University and NY Presbyterian/​Cornell-​Weill Medical Center.

I’m a screenwriter and I had an old script that I could not find the digital version of. The paper version of It was an old and very poor copy and had lots of strange marks on it and I needed to get it off the paper page and into an editable form so I could copy it into Final Draft. I think the business of transferring from paper directly into editable digital is called the OCR process.
The young man who answered the phone at Copyland, whose name I think began with an ‘M’ was calm and polite on the phone and said he could do the job. He was so calm, I called back as I’d had trouble elsewhere, encountering a general air of obstructive hysteria: «Impossible!» etc. Could he really do it? He said, «Yes, I can do it, bring it in.» He said he could do it for less than half the price of Staples — Kinkos couldn’t do it at all.
So I went there and he did it, very calmly, very quickly, and with good will. I will go there again.

BE AWARE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
I decided to stop here to scan some documents instead of going to the nearby Staple. Buy Local, right?
I got in and no greeting or anything. The man was at the phone talking a foreign language, probably indian. Even when he saw me he never stopped to talk and looked at me like «what do you need?».
I asked to scan 80 pages and send them to my email address and that I would have came back in 10 minutes.
When I came back he was still at his phone. I asked how much: $ 28! Not even a drop of toner, not even that much of man work (he just put the paper in the feeder of the machine…). 28 dollars.
Rude and Expensive. Take your business somewhere else

First impression: No greeting no smiling. But this is fine, it’s New York City.
I told the guy I wanted to print some B/​W doc. He pointed at two PCs on the left side of the shop. Ok, self service is great.
I sent four pages to the printer. One came out nice. Two were printed on some yellow paper with texture. One missing. He didn’t comment on the yellow pages at all.
I asked for the missing page and was told to send it again. So i did. Nothing came out. He told me to send again. Did it. Nothing came out. Then he finally realized there was no more paper in the printer… Meanwhile, there were two other employees hanging around the printer chatting. He loaded the printer. The missing page got printed. I was happy.
Then I asked him why two pages were printed on yellow textured paper (apparently they were the leftover pages from the bottom of the printer drawer indicating the end of the paper.) He answered:“They were printed by mistake.” So if I had not questioned about it, he would just let me take the «mistakes». I was not happy, but I was allowed to re-​print. I was happy again.
Money time. They requested 3 dollars for 4 B/​W pages, letter size. I told them it was written on their wall that 0.25 cents for a B/​W page. They told me I was charged extra 2 dollars for using their PC! Ok, my mistake, it was also written on their wall «Computer rental: 2 dollars for 10 minutes». But wasn’t this self service? So now I should pay for me serving myself? I tried to reason with them that I could not have printed without touching their PC. They (now with the support from other two employees) explained how to print without touching their PC by murmuring with a strong Mediterranean (?) accent. I didn’t get it at all. I was not happy.
At last, they decided to do me a great favor by charging me ONLY 1 dollar for «computer rental». I accepted their offer only because I could not wait to get out of this dirty and scammish business.
One dollar isn’t much money. But I would rather give it to subway performers than lazy scammers.
Oh! Did I mention that they didn’t know how to print my passport photo from my flash drive?
