Best computer repair shop in New York City. Honest, fairly priced, and FAST.

Super competent, fast, friendly, professional. I mean it. They helped me more than once when my PC was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Fabulous communication, top service, helpful explanations, good prices. I have no reason to go anywhere else.

When my used electronics place closed down without warning, I went into a panic. My old Macbook Pro needed a new battery and the charger wasn’t charging? Or was it? Or was the battery that bad? As most of us know, this would easily be a $ 300 + visit to the Apple store or even Best Buy. So I turned to (what else?) Unilocal. And there it was, literally a block away from where I work. I’ve passed it every day.
I emailed my needs to the address on their website and Chun got back to me within a few hours with a price for a NEW battery ($ 89 + tax). Nearly half the price of any other place i had researched. He even told me that if I brought my computer with me, he would install it for me. I told him that I would be in tomorrow, but then I changed my mind and went the same day, arriving about 20 minutes before closing.
They changed my battery in under 10 minutes (in time for Giants kickoff), fixed the time settings, and even examined my charger. It turns out some pins were stuck, and they even tried to get them to come down, but to no avail. I bought a new charger from them for $ 45.
I will definitely be returning to update my software.

What nice guys! I took my laptop in because the keyboard wasn’t working properly. Within 48 hours I received a call. The keyboard needed to be replaced & the part would have to be ordered. I agreed to the repair & by the end of the week, I received another call that the laptop was repaired & ready to be picked up. When I picked it up, they showed me the old keyboard & offered to dispose of it for me. Of course, they also gave me the opportunity to test the new keyboard to be certain everything was working properly.
Yes, there is a diagnostic test fee of $ 45, but in my opinion, it is money well spent to determine if there might be hidden problems lurking about. These guys are efficient, polite & very reasonably priced. In addition, there is no pressure to leave your computer with them if you don’t want to pay the diagnostic fee.
That being said, I know that I could not replace my laptop for the cost of the repair ($ 100 total including the $ 45 diagnostic). I also know that these guys are trustworthy & knowledgeable. I would definitely use them again & recommend their services to others.

I haven’t written in review in a while but I wanted to leave a review for its excellent customer service and professionalism. Well deserved five star.
They accomplished a feat that I thought was nearly impossible. My computer went back to factory setting and it took me by surprise so I didn’t have my data backed up. I panicked and proceeded to call multiple data recovery/​computer repair shops in Manhattan but they all told me it was impossible to restore data after the computer has been reset or quoted me a ridiculous price. Then I found D&Q on Unilocal.After reading all the positive reviews on Unilocal,I decided to call them. They were friendly, professional, and quoted me a really reasonable price. They also attempted five different programs to retrieve my data and were successful at recovering a good majority of it.
From my personal experience and other reviews, D&Q computer offers good price and takes the time to explain your options to you. Two thumbs up!

Awesome bunch of guys. I brought my Alienware laptop here when the hard drive died. I was in a rush and paid the extra $ 45 for the rush diagnostic tests to find out what’s wrong. They make no promises about fixing same day just putting finding out the problem a priority. Well they got the computer at 12pm and had it to me 10 mins before closing. These guys rock.

D&Q are amazing! I only went here because my sister recommended this repair shop after she got her iphone fixed here. She said that she felt like they were honest and that they were very fast.
First time I came here, my super old GF Mac laptop broke down and they kept my mac an extra week just to see if they could recover more files than the timeline they first gave me. They weren’t able to recover much, but I felt that they were honest and did as much as they could.
Second time I came here, I accidentally knocked my wine glass all over my keyboard. They said it would take two days since they were super busy, but I told them I had a huge deadline in the next following days and they were able to fix-​it-​like-​new in the same day! They even put in little «feet» covers on the bottom of my mac because they bottom was exposed (I’m not sure how that happened… def on my part though)!
They are honest, reliable, and very very speedy. I def recommend this place to everyone!

I want to like this place, I’m glad there’s a computer store around LES/​EV, but the problem I have with this store is that they don’t have a lot of things I’m looking for that really aren’t that hard to get elsewhere.
Sometimes I go to the $ 0.99 cents store on 14^th street and 2^nd near KFC and they have more cables and computer accessories than this place does.
They should know they should carry multiple types of audio cables and video cables, because there’s always a need for them. I could get most of my things online, but what a tease that there’s an Asian owned computer store in my neighborhood (Asian territories make the best non-​linear cables) but they don’t have even a quarter of what you can get if you just make a trip to Flushing or Chinatown or BK.

These guys are amazing! I had a broken external hard drive and initially took it to a place in flatiron that had good ratings but the guys were rude and wanted to charge me three times more what D&Q ended up charging. They were able to recover all of my data while being super friendly and fast. I would absolutely recommend these guys!

D&Q are a fantastic team. I had a broken fan making a loud buzzing/​rumbling sound in my laptop, and had called numerous other repair shops looking for help. Most told me that they would need at least a week and charge $ 140+ to do the repair.
When I walked into D&Q, I was greeted by Tony, who was able to fix my laptop in 2 hours while I ran some errands, since they already had the fan in stock, for just $ 90.
D&Q are a cut above their competitors.

Absolute 5 stars. I’m a power user (3D graphics) so my computer needs are pretty strict. D and Q are the only computer technicians that I know about who really know their stuff in NYC (hard to imagine in a city of 8 million, right?). I’ve had both my computers in for repairs and I’m saving up my $$ for a custom computer by Don.

I took my computer to D&Q Computers after it was damaged at IPhone, IPad, LapTop & Smartphone Repair Center on W46th St. The two stores were like night and day. While the technicians at the first place were low-​class, unskilled, despicable and unable to speak proper English, the folks here at D&Q actually speak English and clearly know their stuff.
They are honest as well. While the previous place told me the both base and the hinge of my laptop needed to be replaced, D&Q indicated that there was nothing wrong with the base and no need to waste money replacing it. The hinge, which broke while the idiot woman technician at the previous place on W46th was messing with my machine, was the only thing that needed to be fixed. And D&Q replaced the hinge successfully and gave me back a laptop that was as good as before.
They also gave me an price estimate and stuck to it, and fixed the machine within the estimated amount of time. I noticed that they also cleaned the screen and the keyboard for me during repair.
Can’t ask for much more than that. I would highly recommend this place,

I had a nightmare situation where my graphics card died on me and my laptop wouldn’t turn on. These guys were able to pull everything from the HD and put it on an external within only a few hours. They even indulged me and took off some files I needed urgently and put them on a flash drive 10 mins after walking in the door.
These guys are extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating and most importantly are local and provide a great one to one experience. I would recommend coming here for any issues big or small. I can’t speak highly enough of their service.

Amazingly fast and affordable service. I spilled water on my Macbook Air, and waited months to get it fixed knowing that the service was going to cost me half of the price of the computer. I went in, told them exactly what was wrong, they had the part and fixed it for half the price anyone else had quoted me. On top of that, I had my computer back in less than 24 hours.
I will be returning here for anything I need in the future!

Tony and Dong made my year! this was gonna be the worst of 2014! and they JUST saved me!
I recently went to AppleGeniusBar because my MacBookPro won’t turn on. Found out it was because my hard drive was failing and was referred to an «Apple Supported Retailer» to recover my memory. they told me it was gonna take 2 weeks UGH! and quoted me w/​lotsa dollars. so I reached out to my geeky bro, and he referred me to D & Q. fyi I’m NOT completely helpless and hopeless, it’s just my last backup was 6 months ago and I admit. I’m not very good when it comes to computer stuff. BUT ALL THE 6 MONTHS OF COMPUTER ILLUSTRATION WORKS YIKES
I dropped it off at D&Q Sunday with my sweaty fingers crossed, and I’m using it right now (Tuesday) to write this review with all of my memories + picture + lotsa more junks IN IT! They got everything! EVERYTHING! ALL OF MY MEMORIES! and I was able to upgrade a few things while I was in the shop! THANK YOUUUUUU!!! It’s a small shop, but I was their priority, and I was face to face with the Tony who worked on my baby! I didn’t have to leave all of my personal info with a bunch of people I didn’t know or met for TWO WHOLE WEEKS!

Meh is the perfect word to describe this place. I brought my laptop in for some power problems. They wanted to charge $ 35 for a diagnostic test to see what was wrong with my computer even though I already knew, this $ 35 diagnostic test was an additional charge on top of whatever it cost to fix the laptop. I would expect the cost of the diagnostic test to go towards the total cost of the fix but it doesn’t. Since I didn’t want the test, they charged me $ 140 to fix the problem as I described it and if I was wrong and it was a different problem, I would have to pay an additional fee for the diagnostic test AND for them to fix whatever the problem is.
As for the problem with my computer, it wasn’t charging and I highly suspected it was due to the power jack so I forked over my credit card, and paid the fee. They told me they would either fix the part that was broken or replace it. I thought it was strange that it was the same price even though they may not have to put a new part in.
The second thing that I thought was weird, was that they told me there was a problem with my charger and wanted me to pay $ 25 for a new charger. When I got to the store to pick up my computer the next day, I plugged my old charger into my computer and it charged just fine. They told me that it hadn’t worked a minute ago, and maybe it didn’t, we’ve all had things like that happen, but it any case, I left the store feeling uncomfortable and a bit confused.
Looking back I realized they never actually confirmed if they fixed the jack or if they put a new one in and I still feel like if they just fixed the jack, it should have been cheaper than if they put a new one in. I also felt uncomfortable with the fact that they charged me BEFORE they fixed my computer. I’ve thought about it and can’t come up with any scenario that doesn’t include charging people upfront so that even if they’re unhappy with your service, it doesn’t matter because they already paid. Thankfully they take credit so if you’re unhappy you can report it to your credit card company. This place was the highest rated computer repair place on Unilocal,so it could be that the competition in the city is even worse, but in any case, I probably wouldn’t go back here again.

My hp laptop (had for 4 years worked great all four years), decided to die about three days ago! The cooling fan on my laptop stopped working :(. I know, horrific. But it can’t die! I have one more semester at penn state, needs to last me a bit longer until I can afford a new one for grad school :(.
Sooooo… I Unilocaled several places. I was very close to going to another that was charging 200 dollars! for what they charged me 85 (which he did say the price would vary depending on model and age but that was the price for my specific laptop).
I came in as soon as they opened, told them my issues with my laptop. And they did give me a much longer estimate. I told them I’m leaving back to PSU in a couple days for good :(, he responded «oh okay, I’ll make a note of that and we’ll do the best we can»
PSH! and the best they can they DID! Within 4 hours my laptop was ready! :) UGH these guys are lifesavers! I love them so much now! I recommend them, their affordable and speedy! :)
So glad I didn’t give up hope! :)

These guys are seriously amazing. I’ve been to these guys with multiple PC issues and I’ve always walked away 100% satisfied. (Even when it was a problem that could not be solved)
This is Good, Honest service at a fair price. Would recommend them to anyone who has issues with their PC.
