Great Food! The owner is adorable. Me and friend went there and I got the pumpkin porridge! It is to die for. The portions are large and come with Kim Chee and vegetables! My friend liked my porridge more so the owner gave us another dish for free! The service is amazing and food is excellent. I have been there four times already! It is great every time! Love it! Will be going back for sure !

I ordered the dumpling rice ball soup. I love how good and big the dumplings are, and the nice white peppery broth which clears your sinuses but I’m not a fan of colored rice balls. I prefer rice cake and of course, noodles! I’m a huge noodles person and I’m totally biased because of that. All in all, a great experience in this noisy food court that has all my favorites on one floor and in one mall/food court. The people here are super nice, from the Koreans to the Spanish speakers. If you miss mom, come here and eat.

I love the ajumma there and the food! It’s like your eating your mother’s home cooking(if your mom is Korean). I love it there!

The most awful service I’ve ever been subjected to. Three of us sat in a small table and because it was so busy we pulled a chair that no one was using so we can sit together. The old Korean lady who worked there came up to us and started yelling in Korean. I politely told her I was not Korean and didn’t understand. A horrified neighbor translated that she said we weren’t allowed to move chairs. So we gave her the chair back and found another seat that freed up that fit 3. However that was not enough for her. She decided to follow us and started another confrontation yelling in broken English«what happened?» as if what she didn’t understand how rude she was. We explained that we gave her the chair back and moved, so we didn’t know what else we could have done. She mumbled some other words in Korean(none of which were polite I assure.) I’ve never been treated so rudely before. Coming from an Asian family I understand a clash of cultures with the older generation and things get lost in translation. However this was not the case. This woman was rude, hateful, and belligerent. Everyone around us who witnessed the confrontation felt equally uncomfortable at the rudeness. I would not spend another dime at this place. I pay to enjoy good food and the company of friends. I don’t need to be yelled at as a paying customer.

Someone needs to give the owner her medication. The old Korean lady who works there is super rude. I see her speaking politely to other Korean patrons. But when she tried to tell us something in Korean to my friends and I and my Chinese friend explained he was Chinese and did not understand Korean, we can immediately see her demeanor change. I guess if you’re not Korean you get shafted. Getting yelled at in broken English is not my idea of good service. I don’t care how good the food is. DON’T SPENDYOURMONEYHERE!!!

Delicious! I had the duck and chicken soup. Super filling. Amazing flavor. Comes with two types of kimchi and a bowl of rice. A bit pricy for lunch $ 16, but totally worth the splurge as the flavors kick ass. The lady that worked there is super sweet, even brought me a little soy bean paste app thing to start. Location: This is on the 2nd floor of the food court. New area. Same mess hall /open seating as downstairs. Great for lunch! Huge portion. Cash or Credit accepted.

This became my fav one in food café. Perhaps my fav bean stew place in the entire Korean restaurants in New York. What a surprise! I had no expectation b/c of given the price tag and it was a pleasant discovery!

Ever since arirang closed, I have been looking for a good kalguksu and sujebi place. I think I found it today when I tried Dadam for the first time. True Korean home cooked taste. The restaurant is located on the third floor of the Red Mango cafeteria style food hall. Well worth the climb up the stairs! Get their perilla seed or seafood noodle soup. The perilla seed kalguksu can’t be found in Manhattan and the only other place I’ve seen this on the menu is in Flushing. I also had their spicy chicken drumsticks, which at $ 10 for 5 drumsticks was a steal. Other things on the menu looked good as well and are things that are rare in a typical Ktown Menu(duck soup, Chung gook jang, etc). The place does not use MSG and you can actually taste that difference in the food.

I really liked this place. Their rainbow rice ball is really cute and chewy.

Found a piece of plastic in my snail soup, for $ 13 I would expect at least a little cleanliness. I didn’t complain about the soup being overly salty or the snail was def not fresh and had a expired seafood taste to it. Def won’t be coming back here for lunch.

I might have came at the wrong time since the dining area was disturbingly crowded and loud, so loud I couldn’t even think. So note to self, avoid this food court on Friday nights. The duck and vegetables in chicken bone soup was ground breaking and there I found my soul nourished and at peace with the chaotic background. The meal came with the soup in a hot stone bowl, a sauce that you mix into the soup, a generous bowl of rice, and two helpings consisting of kimchi and daikon kimchi. However the squid and rice combo was mediocre in taste and not carefully prepared since I bite into some hard pieces of the skeleton. It also came with a basic fish cake soup and the same kimchis.

I came here around noon on a Sunday and wasn’t feeling particularly hungry for anything. Because this place is relatively new, I thought I would try it out. I got the ox-knee stew, which is really similar to seolleongtang. They were very explanatory and eager to serve — the stew came with rice, two types of kimchi(cabbage and shredded diakon I think), salt to taste, and a vinegary soy sauce to dip the knee tendons in. Very warm and filling, but perhaps not worth 12 $, especially given that it’s in a food court? I would probably return, but will wince every time I check my credit transactions. They gave us complimentary hot ginger tea as we were finishing up our meal(we sat really close to them), which was sharp but not overly ginger-y.

Guys, lets just start of by saying, I’m Korean and a very very picky eater. I’ve been searching for some of most ‘common’ dish you can find in local Korea with authentic taste. It’s surprisingly hard to find in K town. Many restaurants have the usual bulgogi and bibimbap but rarely I saw something that intrigued me. Now, this place has wild sesame Kalguksu(wide noodle with savory soup) and maesangee Kalguksu(wide noodle with savoury soup made with sea weed and oysters). You don’t usually find these dishes in NYC. Pretty common in Korea but I guess people thought they weren’t special enough? Anyway, I’m sitting here with my wild sesame Kalguksu as I’m writing this. I devoured it so fast I didn’t get a chance to snag a pic, but oy this is good. Hearty and thick soup with crushed wild sesame! Try it with their sliced radish side dish, which comes with your order for free. Last time I was here I tried chicken feet broth duck soup. Yeah, sounds bit weird but don’t let the chicken feet part scare you. It’s only used for broth to make it more flavorful. And it works! As you are eating the dish, you can almost feel energized lol. After the food, lady will bring out your complimentary ginger tea. It’s not like other watered down, sugar packed tea. It’s saturated and you can feel the tingle in your throat as you drink it down. This place will be my to-go place for cold winter day lunch. Location is little tricky and more ‘food court’-y but eh. Good food makes up for it. I hope this place gets popular enough to get a space of is own.

this place is a hidden gem in the food court! there is no korean food like this at ktown. They all use too much msg you feel sloggy after eating but this place was different. Also the service was great the cute girl working would introduce down the whole menu and also the service beet rice punch was excellent. i had the duck and vege soup which had a great flavor and my friend had the three colored noodle soup which she really enjoyed. if your looking for some real authentic korean food this is the place to be. two thumbs up

I get so tired of «regular» korean food. The bbq the soft tofu soup… That’s why this restaurant was such a nice surprise. I think it may just be one of the most interesting Korean menus around. It just feels so authentic and the old lady owner is such a movie star… she is awesome. I had the duck soup and the bento box, it was really quite tasty. And I must say as a Korean I’ve never had Korean duck soup. I especially LOVED my Korean kimchi side dish and the radish spaghetti was all wolfed down by my co-worker who wants a jar of it so she could put parmesan cheese on it. Seriously though, I think this restaurant is one of the freshest, most authentic around. I’ve been looking for a restaurant like this… something only found in Korea.(I think the critics will love this place, so we better enjoy it now.) Also the fresh herb noodle soups look so inventive. I can’t wait to try it.

This place is really fun. Just started out with some ginger tea. Like nothing I’ve ever had. I ordered the duck in chicken feet soup and my wife got the pumpkin soup. We lived out meal. If you’re looking for ambiance forget it. If you want excellent Korean food try this place.

Most authentic Korean food in Manhattan. Forget the overrated and expensive sit-down restaurants in K-town, this is clearly the best by far!

This is a new place and the current 16 five-star reviews overhype it. I got the mushroom bibimbap and did not find the gochujang spicy enough. I approve of the fresh namul ingredients used in the bibimbap, but didn’t find it special. In fact for $ 12, this is overpriced. I sometimes just buy namul from H-mart for $ 6 and make my own bibimbap. I like that DADAM is MSG-free but shouldn’t bibimbap be anyways?! I appreciate that the dish came with some side dishes. I liked the radish kimchi the best. Everything else kinda so-so. I tried my friend’s squid bokum bap and really enjoyed it though! The squid was tender, elastic, and chewy. Full of spicy gochujang deliciousness! But still not totally impressed…

One of the best Korean restaurants in Manhattan! It is a hidden gem! If you crave for MSG free mom-made Korean food, you MUST try this place. Love this place: no MSG taste, authentic, delicious, fresh mom-made Korean food, reasonable price, super nice lady owner, free ice shaving beet rice drink and etc. I am definitely coming back.

Having right now the stir fried pork over rice which comes with 2 kimchi &1 broth soup sides, very delicious. On fl 3 so come up for truly mom-made homecooked goodness across a varied menu. Its happy hour with 3 rotating foreign beers is a holdover from the layout from its previous occupant, Angry Chicken.
