I had such a great night at this place! I bought 2 tickets off groupon for only $ 20, that came with 2 complementary drinks. We got there ten minutes before the show started, and the place was packed, so the only seats available were directly in the front. Even though my date and I were a part of some of the jokes, the entire audience gets involved with the comedians and their jokes, so in my opinion it was the best spot in the room! We didn’t order food, but the drinks were fairly priced. The waitress wasn’t the fastest, but we never felt we were waiting for our next drink too long. But the comedians are really who made this place. They were all so hilarious, my cheeks were hurting at the end of the show. Would definitely recommend.

We went there on a Saturday around 8pm so parking was free since it was after 7pm. The comedy club is located in a bar. Upon entering the bar, you go down two flights of stairs. The comedians were very entertaining and the admissions price is well worth it. They had us laughing uncontrollably and falling out of our seats! There is a two drink minimum per person, which is the usual at comedy lounges. However, there was mandatory gratuity so two beers, a baybreeze, and a nonalcoholic tropical drink(which I forget the name of) with an appetizer was a little less than $ 65. It was much higher than anticipated. When we paid, the waitress gave us our change in singles, meaning she was expecting more than the $ 12 tip that was already added onto the bill. My opinion is simply that gratuity should be decided by the customer, depending on the service, and not mandatory, especially with a party of two.

Bought a Groupon for a Saturday show, they requires a 4 drink minimum. I recommend buying the Groupon with the drinks since the drinks will run you more. If the stand ups were a bit funnier I would’ve gave it 4 stars, but some of the acts bombed… Maybe I’ll use the two tickets for a future show if the line up is worth it.

There is no eloquent way to write this review, so here goes: the place is dingy and they pack it very tight; drinks are terrible(can’t comment on food as we did not order any); most comedians were boring and unfunny. Seemed like they had no material so they were asking questions of audience members and not even making jokes/insults based on the answers… Oh, and we were charged for an extra drink, but we decided it will be a pity charge and did not fight it. Maybe it was just a bad night, but I’m not willing trying this again to find out…

I went last night and Adam Strauss, Jason, Katie, Daniel, and Vincent James were absolutely incredible. Such funny comedians. There was another older guy that was also performing but I can’t remember his name. Of the 8 comedians, only 2 weren’t so funny and those two weren’t on for long. The comedians were so funny, especially their interaction with the ground, that my boyfriend and I were still laughing about some of the things said, an hour later on the subway. The drinks were okay, strong in alcohol so that’s good. I had the groupon that included 2 tickets, 2 drinks, and 2 tickets for a future date. Since the drink minimum is 2 per person I ended up spending $ 37 on top of $ 16 I paid for the groupon. Didn’t try the food, but it looked amazing. Only reason I give this place 4 stars is because of the waitress and the 2 not-so-funny comedians. I’ll definitely be back

I would love to give this place a full five because the comedians were outstanding. Great crowd control, and so entertaining. The host was also so funny! I’d love to see all the acts again. I am not sure if it was the waitress or just how it’s run but it was very disappointing. We were sitting for 20 min before she even said anything to us and we had to get her attention in order for her to even come over. We order our drinks and food(I was impressed that she could remember all 6 of our orders). But she comes back 20 min later because she didn’t remember our drink order. Overall it took about an hour to get our first drink. Claims there was a «printing error» yet everyone else had no problems with food or drink. The food came out more than halfway through the act and my friends burger was burnt but she was so hungry she ate it anyway. Mine wasn’t anything impressive either. Plus we thought if we complained it would take the whole show to get a new meal. Then we never hear or see the waitress again until she comes up to us as everyone is about to leave and informs us of the two drink minimum. Which, if we had gotten our first drink in a reasonable amount of time we obviously would have ordered a second. But we explained to her that we simply couldn’t wait another hour for our drinks. She luckily let us slide. Although our food order covered if we had just ordered two drinks anyways. TL;DR get comics, bad venue

Had a great time on a Friday night, definitely a reasonable price for tickets. Drinks are between $ 8-$ 14, and they also have a full dinner menu. To get there, go down 2 flights of stairs to your right. There are signs to guide you. The show was slightly over 2 hours, and we saw about 6 comedians. They get progressively funnier, saving the best for last. It’s an intimate comedy club, so you might get picked on :) Gratuity is automatically added at the end, so 4 drinks and tip was $ 50.

It was funny! The show had 5 comics and a great MC to tie the show together. The drinks are weak and the food is ok but quickly on the table after you order. The place is undergoing renovations and is in the basement but you forget that when you’re there. It was a good 3 hr show. They covered the usual topics from life in NYC, relationships to(too much and usually in poor taste) religion. Sitting close to the stage WILL make you easy pickings for their funny target practice. Before the show started one of the comics was trying to attach a camera holder to the ceiling — right over my seat. He is a better comic than mechanic. Took him awhile to properly use the drill — but it was funny to watch — he gave us a show b4 the show. See pics on how he held the drill.

Came here on a groupon deal and it was well worth it. My boyfriend was dying to visit a comedy club and we decided to try this one out. The location is a bit difficult to navigate. When you walk in you have to go through the bar towards the back and there was a man there taking the reservations. He then escorted us downstairs where the comedy club was located. We sit upfront but not too close, didn’t want to risk being the butt of anyone’s jokes. My boyfriend got a drink and we ordered the nachos to nibble on while we wait. The service was terrible as the server had a lot to deal with and he wasn’t too good at managing all the people. The nachos arrive and they were good but they were the kind of food you eat and regret immediately after. It was definitely all store bought… I could literally taste Costco in the salsa! The comedy show was good! We definitely shared some laughs of course some comedians were funnier than others… Overall it was a good time… Come for the jokes, and I don’t mean the food.

I purchased a living social deal a few weeks ago and we decided to go! Firstly, my rating has more to do with the SHARPPLASTICOBJECTFOUNDINMYFIANCÉSMOUTHASHEWASEATINGTHENACHOSWEORDERED. The waiter didn’t even apologize when I told him we aren’t paying for the nachos. Instead he had a nasty face as if it was our fault. Who knows if there were other sharp plastic objects in our food which we probably swallowed. So if the manager or whoever from this comedy club is reading this PLEASEMAKESURETHISDOESN’T HAPPENTOANYONEELSE. Otherwise, it was a really great show. Too bad it ended up being a bad night due to the situation.

I came here on a livingsocial deal with a few friends and had a great time overall. Here are details: Livingsocial value: $ 19 for two people, two drinks, and two tickets to a future show. However you should not that there is a two drink minimum(so you will each have to buy a second drink). Also, Livingsocial automatically adds a ~$ 4 gratuity so you shouldnt have to add additional tip. A few of my other friends bought three deals(as a party of 6) and had some trouble sorting out their bill(Dark Horse charged them an additional gratuity of some sort). There were about 5 comedians, each of which had about 30 minutes on average. Their names were Zach(/Zack?), PJ, Vinny, Jessie(/Jesse?), Adam, a ginger female and the headliner(for the life of me I cant remember his name, but he was hilarious). Zack was fantastic, PJ was underwhelming, Vinny was phenomenal, Jessie was fantastic, Adam was witty and fantastic, the ginger was underwhelming and the headliner was AMAZING. I would come back again, but not unless I had the same living social deal. Tip: Make a reservation! the place was completely packed when I went. You’ll likely be thigh to thigh with the people sitting next to you, but my seat neighbors were pleasant and we shared a bunch of laughs together. Also, they say that the doors open 45 minutes before the show. They actually opened 10 minutes before the show, but it is likely that they ask you to come early so that you patron the bar that you line extends into.

We saw the comedy show with Adam Strauss and some other very talented comedians the other night! It was one of the best comedy shows I have ever gone to! I definitely recommend this place! Best kept secret in New York when it comes to comedy shows! Can’t wait to bring my friends to another show soon!

Went 11÷15÷14. The groupon deal is not bad: $ 19 for two admissions plus two drinks included. Must buy two more drinks during show(one per person). Our bill came to around $ 35 including gratuity. So calculating the original $ 19 groupon, total $ 54 for 2 ppl and four drinks is a good deal. The problem was the comedians… not funny. Out of like 5 or 6 comics(counting the emcee), maybe 2 of them were decent. The rest sucked big time. The short filipino comic was the worst, kept yelling into the mic and not funny at all. The other asian comic with glasses was also awful. The tall one claiming to have OCD was funny at times but mostly a miss, for some reason he had the longest time on stage. Last two comics were pretty good. I understand the«picking on the crowd» thing, most comics do it, but they did it way too much in this show, focusing on the audience is an indication of lacking material and talent. Kudos for the bravery to try comedy, but it’s not for everyone. In summary, the show had an amateurish feel and was awkwardly silent way too often. Need better talent.

First, if you go without a Groupon, Livingsocial or other deal the joke is on you. There are times when those deals are not worth the hassle or judgement at the redeeming establishment — not the case here Dark Horse appreciates those deals and there is an ease of using them. Walking into the bar you got a nice vibe. Felt pretty Irish, though that could have to do with the lovely Irish man tending to the bar. The very spacious location has plenty of seating though it wasn’t ever clear whether you could only order at the bar. Nobody came over to us once while we were waiting for the show to open. One thing I appreciated about the show was that the comedians themselves played a role in making sure it happened — from seating the guests to taking tickets. I believe this helps to ensure great customer service, you don’t want an agitated heckler. I suppose I was a pessimist that night because I recommended we sit in the hightop tables closest to the door. Turns out that was a great decision. There are only so many two person tables and while you may be comfortable sharing others might not. I heard many a guest complain about the seating arrangements. There are some inconsistencies with the menu for example there are two posted outside and both have different offerings. With the two drink minimum we wanted to order something so we opted for the Nachos since there weren’t too many other shareable options. Neither of us wanted chili on them, but in what turned out to be a clutch move we got it on the side. BESTCHILIEVER. Take that capitalization and make it yell even louder because I typically don’t like chili. Overall the nachos were good, broiled to perfection though the salsa was lacking. Opted for the Absolute Lemonade. Was planning on switching to beer after one — didn’t her cause it was that good. As for the comedy I appreciated the line up(I attended the Saturday, October 18, 2014 show) — I’d rather have variety than one main act. Overall, the acts were good and considering the tickets were essentially free I can’t complain… but I will. By the end some of the jokes were getting a bit played out, but not bearable. There was one act though that just was not having a good night. Nobody in the crowd was receptive to him both in the words they were saying or the lack of laughter. It was almost painful to watch and I do wish someone one would have pulled him early. Overall, I would go back. Because of my deal I basically only paid for the drinks and food so it was like getting the show for free and even bad comedy would give you a memory.

We came here with a groupon and chose a night when a comedian we had seen on TV, Carmen Lynch, was supposed to be the headliner. The only reason I gave this place four stars instead of five stars is because the advertised headliner never appeared. However, the 6 comedians that did perform, as well as the MC were all excellent and my husband and I were laughing almost the whole time, which is not the case at most comedy shows. A real treat was that Colin Quinn showed up as one of the comedians, and he was fantastic and so exciting to see. The staff there are all very nice, the drinks are reasonably priced and there isn’t a bad seat in the house. I don’t know why the headliner didn’t show, but nevertheless it was a very enjoyable evening and we would go back.

Funny comedians for a cheap price. Just with they had better food & drink choices. We got a pitcher of Sierra Nevada for $ 24. However, the specific show was advertised as influenced by the work of jerry Seinfeld starring one comedian tony something… Which is why I bought it but I saw no similarities or mention of Seinfeld or even the other comedian that it was supposed to be there. There was a funny host and maybe 5 – 6 other comedians some funnier then others. I guess maybe all NYC comedians are inspired by Seinfeld on some level??? so it seems like they just say whatever to get you to go-it worked for me-but expect the unexpected.

This comedy club is located in the basement of a bar which I think its a great idea. I did like that they have regular tables not comedy club tiny round tables. You have plenty of space between tables which is great. They had food available which is a plus, I tried the buffalo wings and nachos and both were decent. Like any other comedy club they had two drink minimum which is fine and the drinks were actually decent price. The reason I took off a star is because the comedians were so so. They had about 6 different comedians and only two were really good.
