Unassuming place. Heard they are closed but may reopen. 6 – 7 dollars for an platter of rice and meat. Highly recommend the pernil(roast pork) which is available on Wednesdays. Great lunch spot.

Very good! Obviously, don’t go in expecting gourmet food, or an amazing shopping atmosphere. But, if you want a ton of pretty tasty food, for a very cheap price, DDG rules! I had the yellow rice, beans, and meatloaf for $ 6, and couldn’t finish it all, there was so much food. I wanted to! Also, the man behind the counter was very kind.

The Cuban is legit. It’s simple but packs a lot of flavor and the baguette tastes amazing. Total steal for $ 6.

Horrible service, little meat with tons of rice, doesn’t look like the delicious food photo in front page. The street food is better and cheaper.

Was a day early for pernil, so had beef stew with yellow rice and beans. Nice sized portion for a big guy, and enjoyed it all. Still $ 6, which is great for Manhattan. Never would have known if I did not read about it here. This deli is on my list for whenever I am in the area.

This is my main go-to place for lunch. The food is delicious. they cook like my mom does and thats why i love it. Ive poked my head into the kitchen area and its small but clean. Those women are wearing gloves and hairnets. If you are looking for good spanish food in the GrAmercy/kips bay area you need to come here!!! Also stop in the morning to get you a nice hispanic cup of oatmeal!!! Delish!

Gimme more! Came here for the first time with a few friends, and I definitely come back by myself whenever! I shared a silver container of yellow rice, baked chicken, and fried chicken with a Jarritos each with a friend; our grand total was $ 9. $ 6 for a huge container of rice and beans + whatever meats you want? Yes please.($ 4 for a smaller container; I’d get this when coming alone.) The food was delicious and filling and the people working behind the counter and throughout the small deli were so nice! I love Spanish food, and I know for sure this will be my go to place around school.

I’ve lived across the street from this deli all my life and I love it. It’s a small deli but it literally has everything a deli should have. They have everything from housing products to Arizona to one of their greatest perks the food. The food is one of cheapest, delicious Dominican food you’ll find right in Manhattan. Their super cheap but oh so filling. I’ve been noticing throughout the years now that their business is growing due to the fact that the community around is hearing the buzz about this place. The owner actually has a brother store in the 30’s. If you’ve got $ 6 in your pocket and are dying of hunger I totally without a doubt say come here. In my senior year of high school I would opt out to hang out with my friends to come home and get a cup of food. It’s so so simple that it just cant disappoint. p. s. the workers are super friendly

Well priced very filling Spanish food Not too much flavor, I’d suggest adding lime juice and hot sauce to everything 6 $ gets you a large circular metal takeout pan full of: 1. Rice(yellow or white) 2. Beans 3. Choice of meats of the day — you can ask for a little of each Staff are really really friendly — we tried the Gizzard, pork chops, baked chicken — gizzard was soft tender and delicious — baked chicken was tender, not much flavor — pork chop was slightly dry

This place is as inconspicuous as they come. Tiny bodega that serves hot food. I live 5 blocks away so I’ve been meaning to check this place out for a while. Today, on my way to work, I figured I’d pick up dinner at this place. Walked in and found a couple of old guys chatting and just hanging out. There were a couple of people getting food to go. The menu today included beans, rice, baked chicken, BBQ ribs, beef stew, and fried chicken. I asked for a little bit of each and the guy was more than willing to accommodate. He packed the container so full of food I was surprised he could even fit the lid on. The whole thing was $ 6. It was a heavy bag. The amount of food can easily last you 2 meals. As for the quality of the food, I thought it was just average. Nothing was mind-blowing. It fills you up for cheap. If you look for nothing else from this place, you will not walk away disappointed.

Décor: 2⁄5 –not much, its a deli/grocery store Service: 3⁄5 –average Food: 3.5÷5 –Like the other reviews have said, the meal is hearty and slightly heavy. –For $ 6 though, you can tell him to give you a little of everything. –On Monday they offered pork chop, gizzard and baked chicken. –All three were tasty. The meat on the baked chicken came off with ease. –The gizzard was surprisingly the best of the three. The pork chop was good but slightly on the dry side. The yellow rice helped balance out the oily sauce.

When I first started working in the area I would see my coworkers with heaps of amazing looking Spanish food. I soon realized that there was an establishment on the corner of 25th and 2nd where this food came from. This place isn’t for the yuppies, its a bare bones establishment that serves heaps of hardy food. I honestly couldn’t find the place at first, I thought this spanish food came from a restaurent, but it doesn’t. The palce looks like your average hole in the wall NYC bodega, but once you taste their food you’ll be hooked. To my coworkers and I this place is simply called Spanish. They generally have 3 or 4 dishes along with rice and beans. I usually opt for the large $ 6 plate and tell them to put a little bit of everythign in there(which they always happily oblige). I usually eat half for lunch and bring the other half home for dinner(yes, for $ 6 I do occasionaly manage to eat lunch and dinner in NYC). The guys that work there are so damn nice, always cracking jokes and happily explaining what all the food is.

Looks like just any convinience store from the outside looks can be deceiving. This is a Dominican deli that has amazing food for ridiculously low prices. $ 4 for a BIG aluminum bowl of rice with giant chunks of pork or chicken with a delicious hot sauce. Do yourself a favor don’t look in the back where they prepare the food or you may not want to eat there. Never had any episodes of gastroenteritis there despite eating there multiple times. On Mondays they make a stewed chicken gizzard dish that sounds really chewy but is fork tender. My co-workers were all amazed at my lunch and were pissy that I hadn’t told them about the place. Great value for a pick up and go.
