Don’t bring in more than 2 people and order more than one thing each. On two different days Friday and Monday our family of of 5 ordered here. Both occasions nothing came out right! They need a better system or one at all. Won’t be back.

Delicious daily coffee spot. Employees are great, but manager is stoic. Their baked goods always smell delicious!

Dear Demarco, Your business hours state that you are open Monday through Sunday 6:30am to 8:00pm on both your website and Unilocal. Due to this presumably true statement, I believed that when I walked to your coffee shop that it would be open(on 3:00pm on a Sunday), and yet… It was not. No notice or announcement on the website –I was disappointed, a little hurt even, that you didn’t mention a cancellation of our coffee date. Ergo I cannot give you a good review nor a second date. Don’t call, I guess I just liked the idea of you. Regards, RJ

Strong coffee. During the workdays it’s best to go at an odd hour otherwise there could be a longer wait. The coffee was strong as mentioned, not some crazy artisan coffee but much better than average. The pastries look good too, never tried them but can recommend this place solely for the mid day pick me up espresso.

Needed decent coffee in a huge way. Popped in here and got awesome stuff! Fast service, great product. A good latte is worth it’s weight in gold.

Awesome coffee and great muffins as well! Very friendly people working! I stopped in a couple times and was great both times. I would highly recommend! They were very quick as well which was a major plus.

Organic drip coffee and teas. Plenty of sandwich choices, oatmeal, fruit, and Greek yogurt. Upbeat music and bright atmosphere. Reasonable prices for the city.

Every time we come to NY I am on the hunt for one delicacy: crumb cake!!! And every time I head home I am disappointed and surprised that I can never find it. ONE place in the past served it(it was fantastic) but it was in Bay Ridge. Well DeMarco, welcome to my heart! The other thing I love to do is visit the smaller independent coffee specialty shops/cafés and give them my business. DeMarco met the mark for me on both accounts! We went in to grab coffees for the ride home and what do I stumble upon as we head to the register??? CRUMBCAKE!!! Naturally I had to indulge in the delight! And it was everything I look for in a crumb cake. The cake was light and tasty without being too sweet and the crumb topping, thick and generous with streusel and just the perfect balance of sweet and cinnamon. My vanilla slim latte was everything a larger chain would present but half the price and with that little personal foam heart over the top. I hated to have to cap it. DeMarco will get my business whenever I am in the neighborhood! TY for making my day!

I went here for a cappuccino and was hoping for foam art. This cappuccino was so thick and yummy!!! The medium cup is huge. They have seating which is a plus. They tried to do foam art but the one I got wasn’t clear. I would come back.

A rare Unilocal miss in that I don’t see why this place has such high ratings. It was acceptable but not worth trekking out for and no better than Starbucks.

5 stars for the coffee, 2 stars for the pastries, settling into 3 stars for all around including the service. This was the best local coffee location near our hotel, and i’m VERY glad i ventured in for that cup of coffee. Delish! The pastries were over priced and nothing to write home about. Service was typical NY. If you’re going for the coffee, you won’t be disappointed!

I’m a sucker for punishment. Every time I go to DeMarco, they manage to lose my order in the morning rush frenzy. And every time, I end up coming back. Their coffee and food is worth it. They have a very interesting ordering system at DeMarco. When you walk in the door, you walk to the back of the store to place your order. As you walk towards the counter, you pass by the typical bakery-style glass window full of delicious-looking baked goods, as well as the large espresso machines. So far, it’s like a quaint little bakery and coffee shop. Then, you place your order. The friendly cashier will take my order and yell it towards anyone standing remotely behind them. If that person is lucky enough to hear the order, they will write the order down on a small Post-It note. The Post-It note then gets pasted onto the nearby coffee machine or the oven door. All the Post-It notes are lined up in the order that they are received. Most of the time, you get the coffee without issues. The baristas are generally the same people every day, and they know how to make a damn good cup of coffee. The food line is where it all breaks down. When the cook opens the oven door to put food in and out, half the Post-It notes fall off. Sometimes, they notice that the Post-Its have fallen. Most of the time, they do not. Chaos ensues while they ask me what I ordered after seeing me waiting for 10+minutes, and then run around trying to frantically make it. A potential 5 minute order can quickly turn into a 15 – 20 minute wait. It’s still worth it. The food, when it comes out, is delicious. It appears that do a lot of their baking onsite. In the mornings, you can usually find the baker in the corner kneading the dough and placing it in a baking oven. Most mornings, I get their Spinach Pocket($ 7) — I very highly recommend it. It consists of spinach, tomatoes, boiled eggs, and American cheese on fresh croissant-style bread. It is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. So, when you go — be prepared for lost orders and long wait times. However, between the good coffee and the great breakfast, it is all worth it in my opinion.

I’m a supporter of non-Starbucks coffee shops and I loved Demarco for a while as it was on my way to work… That is until they served me burnt coffee. I had never tasted burnt coffee until that day, and wowwweee was it memorable! My taste buds were assaulted, I made all my coworkers taste it. It was that bad, it was just impressive. Also, they advertise this gorgeous breakfast sandwich with fresh sunny side up eggs outside their store, them serve you inedible microwaved egg patties. Nope. Not today, Demarco.

Guess the best way to start a Friday would be a freshly baked toasty plus a cup of coffee — Demarco provided a variety of pastry choices and among all, the almond croissant seemed to be suggested by the most Unilocalers; though the chocolate one also looked tasty. Next time I’m looking to try their house-made smoothie. TGIF.

This place is right next door to the Doubletree Hilton. I ended up coming here because out of all the various coffee places in the same area that I wanted to go to(Little Collins and Bluestone Lane especially), Demarco was the only one that opens at 6:30am whereas all the others open at 7am. So it worked out perfectly for me as I needed to head to the airport early to catch my flight. It’s pretty good coffee and they have pastries. If you need to grab coffee before 7am, this is your option.

Recently on a trip to NYC my hotel was 2 doors down from Demarco, so this became a little morning habit before our day out. I found their staff to be SOOOOOO friendly. I found it a little surprising compared to some of the other places during our trip. Not that I found unfriendly people in NYC, just these people were really nice! The cashier even started to remember me and was so sweet. My vanilla latte was delicious and had a cute little design in the froth! Nice touch for a busy place! They have a nice selection of fruit, yogurt, pastries, bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Mom tried a sesame bagel with cream cheese and really liked it.

Going to Demarco was my Sunday morning routine pretty much the entire time I lived in NY. It was kind of a trek since I had to walk down to 86th street, catch the crosstown bus or walk from Broadway to Lexington, and then take the train or the bus down(there were a few mornings where I walked the whole thing but then I was very late-I generally met friends there) but it was always worth it. I never had something I didn’t like when I came here but I had to have a dirty chai latte every time even if I had something else first. I haven’t had a chai latte that compares before or after. I also would get a breakfast sandwich-usually the bacon one. When my dad came to visit me we went here every day I wasn’t working because he wouldn’t leave the UWS without me but wanted to come here as often as possible. The best day was when we went here during a snowstorm and watched it out the window while sipping our drinks. What an experience we could never get back where we’re from. If you’re in the city, you’ve got to check out this coffee shop, I think it might be the only non-chain coffee shop in the city or at least in midtown.
