I love the Chelsea Door Store.(THISLOCATIONONLY). The staff is friendly and helpful, and you can find a lot of the same pieces that you would find at other furniture stores, but at rock bottom prices. Where else can you get an quality oversized silver floor mirror for $ 129.00?(they usually cost from $ 300 – 800), and no one will know the difference. You do have to look around, not everything in the store is fabulous, but you’ll find it. Have some imagination. Good things will follow. Cheaper than IKEA, and no trek over to Brooklyn. Staff has always been very helpful and amazing to me. Tip: Buy everything at once, so you can bundle your delivery order into one charge.

Ordered a bookshelf and picked it up in store, however, when unpacked it at home, realized that the pieces were all worng(wrong size shelves). Called customer service, and they delivered a new one a few weeks after. However, this 2nd one was not good either. Pieces still did not fit together. When I called customer service to complain again, they told me that they cannot do anything, and that I should have paid for their assembly service. It’s not the assembly that is the problem, it that the pieces inside do not correspond to what’s supposed to be in the package! better buy furniture elsewhere…

I walked into this store quite by accident and really liked their furniture and the prices were pretty good too. I impulsively decided to buy a few pieces and paid for them. I was told I could pick them up the next day. When I went back the pieces hadn’t come in and I was told to come back the next day. I did, still no deliveries so I waited a week and went back. Nothing came in yet so I asked them to call me when the pieces actually came in. 2 more weeks went by and no one called me(though they insisted they had called me several times) so I went back and lo & behold, the pieces were in and I could take them with me. Unfortunately they were not what I ordered. The color was wrong. I ordered black and they were telling me that I ordered white! As the salesperson tried to convince me that they were what I ordered I took out my receipt that clearly had«color: black» written on it. After about 30 minutes of trying to convince me to keep the pieces — she told me the right ones would be in the next day!!! I demanded my money back at that point. It just wasn’t worth the hassle any longer. Frankly, an impulse purchase should never take over 3 weeks to fulfill and I felt like I was just getting a runaround.

DONOTSHOPHERE, we bought a love seat here for $ 900 and it fell apart after a year and a half. When we called to have it fixed, they said they had declared bankruptcy even though they seem to have reopened. One of our ottomans we bought from them fell apart as well. The wood warped after six months and will not fasten to the leather top. If you want to throw away expensive furniture after two years of use, this is the place to go.

Don’t shop here this store has declared bankruptcy and continues to take people’s money with no intenthion of fullfilling their order. The sales people here are not sympathetic like the other review noted. They are criminals who lie and deceive people so they can pocket their comission. When I bought my furniture back in October the sales lady convinced me to pay in full saying she would give me a 15% discount. I told her I don’t normally do that because I had a bad experience once with a furniture store going out of business. She promised me that door store was a solid company which had been around for years, and that was not a possbillity. Ha! they were declaring bankruptcy at the time she told me that. So now I’m fighting the charge through my credit card company as they won’t give me my furntiure or refund my money.

I bought a great table here, and was happy w/the price, service, etc. Very happy. Then, I bought a large wall unit. I paid cash — they were having a 5% off deal if you paid w/debit card. That was back in November. It’s now the end of MARCH and I have neither the wall unit NOR the money — $ 2500. I asked for a refund two months ago, after the shipment was delayed and delayed far beyond the 4 weeks they promised back in 2008. I just called to ask where my check is, and they said the order has STILL not been officially cancelled, after I talked to the twice about cancelling. I feel almost scammed, because i’m afraid they’re going to go out of business before I get furniture or my money back.
