Pharmacist there is extra courteous. Spent time changing an incorrect prescription. Never have issues with picking up medications.
My go to pharmacy.

I want to thank the staff at the Duane Read Columbus location for always recognizing my family and our needs. Without fail, the pharmacy department has been super helpful, courteous and they ALWAYS remember our name and the meds needed! Sorry we moved, we’ll miss your great service!!!

The pharmacists here are COMPLETE IDIOTS! TWICE I’ve had serious issues with them filling the wrong prescriptions. If you want them to fill the wrong prescription, then go home and find out that THEY MADE THE MISTAKE and then call them about it, they act like you might get charged AGAIN for THEIR IDIOCY!!! This pharmacy needs to hire COMPETENT people who know how to READ AND KNOW THE LAW!!! If you fill the wrong prescription, you should take back the wrong drug and refill with the CORRECT ONE! They should be fined or something! I’m aghast at the arrogance of the stupid dumbo pharmacist who clearly crawled out of some rock to get his job. This is the upper west side. Please EMPLOY intellectuals at my pharmacy –PLEASE!!!

The store is big and beautiful, but the pharmacy is incompetent!
I have had three prescriptions filled here in the last six months and they have managed to screw up all three of them without a concern or an apology. The first two involved not reading the doctors orders correctly and simply filling them with the wrong amount of pills. The most recent incident was a refill that they again refilled without looking at the doctors instructions. Upon returning I was told they could not fix the problem because their «system» is down and they cannot see the orders. They hope it will be functioning tomorrow. I will definitely be looking for a new pharmacy and if I could give this business no stars I certainly would.

The store carries a large stock of food items which is what I like most. The layout is a little confusing, making it hard to find what your looking for. I find some of the people downstairs in the pharmacy to be very rude. I wanted to pay for 1 item there, this guy tells me «you know there’s registers upstairs dont you? The store was empty and no one on the line. Also another time I was charged the full price not sale price for an item, when I pointed it out to the cashier she was very angry instead of apologizing.

I really like the fact that they are open ²⁴⁄₇. Everytime I go there they have everything I need and the staff are always polite and knowledgable and help me find what I’m looking for.

I was in the store yesterday around midday to pick up meds for a kidney infection so you can imagine how awful I was feeling. From the front door to the pharmacy downstairs and back, every employee was so friendly. From a simple smile in passing to the gentleman who filled my prescription and handled the checkout transaction. After the transaction was complete, he introduced himself and also another woman behind the counter, telling me they’re there if I need them. Of course I forgot their names, partly from surprise and my current state of pain. It was so genuine and made me feel so much better.
I’m happy to cross the street and go to this Duane Reade instead of the closer Rite Aid any day. Very pleased to give them my business.

This is more of a 4.5, as the upstairs kind of tempers the delightfulness of the pharmacy. But never mind — this is a sweet Duane Reade.
Due to recent technical difficulties, there have been many trips to the pharmacy. And these guys are great. Far better than any sort of romantic notion of an old timey, independently owned druggist you may be harboring. Computers, man. That’s where it’s at. Everyone has always been kind, knowledgeable and super patient.
I heart my pharmacists!

Multilevel pharmacy that also doubles as a supermarket, open 24 hours. What more could I want?
Quite a nice store, and also large, they have a decent range of most things. I’m told their cosmetics range is quite good too, but I didn’t pay that much attention.

Love this Duane Reade! Has more upscale beauty items such as La Roche Posay sunscreens, etc, and there are actually beauty consultants who help you!
There is a grocery section where you can get canned staples, some produce, some frozen foods, milk, ice cream, condiments, a mini grocery where yes, you may pay a bit more for the convenience but but you’re in and out quickly.
They carry specials, and those are great to check out. They have a huge beverage section, and all the usual departments you expect in a Duane Reade, first aide, detergents, I could on and on.
Are their prices competitive with the Rite Aide on the other corner of 97^th St? It varies by item. You can comparison shop if you have the time.
Wide aisles, incredibly fast checkout (you can pay downstairs too), a Dr is listed as being there but I have not cheeked this out although there is section which implies there is one. Have to ask next time.
This is a very easy place to shop and luxurious for a Duane Reade! It is so convenient! And open ²⁴⁄₇ which is very handy!

Upside? This store has a great selection. Downside? The staff members seem to have been taken straight out of middle school. They’re incredibly rude, and also not very bright. If you have absolutely no questions, never need to return anything, and don’t mind getting snapped at once the casheirs stop flirting and gossiping long enough to ring you up, you’ll love it!

This Duane Reade is like a luxury department store! They have far more products and space than most drug stores in the city, the staff is friendly and helpful, and it’s aesthetically pleasing.

The store does not feel like a typical NYC retail store; rather, the isles are wide, the design is open, and there is a well designed flow to the store. I feel like I am visiting the typical drug store in suburbia. Well stocked and friendly and helpful pharmacy staff. Definitely my go-​to pharmacy/​convenience store.

I really dig this Duane Reade. It’s very large and includes a supermarket section in the basement. The make-​up and beauty section is also very large and includes DR specialists who will help you on the spot.
There are always good deals, which are placed in easy-​to-​see locations throughout the store.
This store is always well stocked, too.
I’ve also had some super nice check-​out people at this location. All smiles!

It’s a supermarket, basically. A lot more extensive than your regular Duane Reade.
Did I mention that they’re ²⁴⁄₇? Great for zooming right into from across the street. Mega convenient. It can get a little slow even late at night because it’s like people want to spend 5 days at the register, but besides that, this Duane Reade has basically everything you need from your usual DR, and then some.
No complaints. Never touched the pharmacy, so no opinion there.

It’s a Duane Reade, so how much can it really blow your mind, but this is a really large, well-​lit, 24 hour Duane Reade with all the drugstore stuff you could need, and lots of groceries besides.
This is not the DR I go to for rx’s so I can’t speak to their pharmacy, but it is a really handly location when shopping around the Sephora/Michael’s/Home Goods/​Whole Foods area. Be sure to head downstairs, where all their non-​food stuff is stocked.

Problem administering a time-​sensitive vaccine to my elderly husband treated in an uncaring, insensitive way with little effort to solve the problem by the MD in charge.
