e.l.f. Studio

Today I just happened to stop into The E.L.F. Studio and Im very happy I did. I picked up a few goodies (more like a bag full but under $ 30.) Two very helpful and sweet ladies helped me. Nadia did a full face demo and her Manager Nayasha was very helpful as well. They use their products and also gave me a few tips. Their lipsticks have built in glosses for $ 3 & the matte lip pencils also have a sharpener attached!!! I know silly that im this excited but not only do the lipsticks look pretty they have a sweet taste as well and now I found out I have glosses too. Its rare these days to find patient and genuine people in customer servicce. Thank you ladies!!!

Products are very affordable n the quality is great for the price… But the employees in this location are very annoying and overbearing. I was in the store for maybe 15 min and got asked by the same guy 6 times if I needed help… It’s makeup not rocket science I think the customer can handle themselves if not then we’ll ask… Another girl kept staring at me n asked also if I needed help to ask away. I paid and left

Had a great time with my daughter yesterday getting out faces made up for an event. Stephanie and Amanda were Great! They did an amazing job. It was a crazy moment in the shop, with lack of Artist and a teen birthday celebration going on. But I must say Jason was very professional at handling the khaos.
So Kudos to Amanda, Stephanie and Jason from Elf on Broadway.

STAFF CHANGES!
After reading the reviews, I figured I’d get mediocre service at best but I knew what I wanted, so it wouldn’t be a problem.
I went in around 1:00 — prime time on a Saturday — and it was bustling with activity. Here’s the great part — despite how busy it was, every employee greeted me at one point or another, without being pesky. They answered my questions, made suggestions and were terrific. One even apologized for having to assist someone else while I made up my mind.
On my way out, I stopped at the makeup station to grab a wipe and mentioned to the associate cleaning brushes there how pleasantly surprised I was by the service. Turns out she was Nyasha, one of the managers, and she said they’d changed the staff over the last year. She was lovely to chat with and the attitude of the management is always reflected by the employees’ behavior, you know?
I worked in cosmetic retail for 30+ yrs, and saw hundreds of sales artists at work and these e.l.f folks are outstanding. I’ll be going back to load up even when I don’t really need anything! :-D

First of all I must say that I didn’t even know that e.l.f. had a studio in Manhattan and I was SUPER excited to find out that not only do they have a store but they offer makeovers. When I called to schedule a makeover, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. At first they didn’t have availability for the date/​time I needed, but they didn’t immediately tell me «no» and after looking into it they were able to book the makeover for me.
When I arrived to the store, I was amazed at the selection of products offered in a rather small space. There are so many items and colors to choose from! I was used to the small e.l.f. sections offered at my local pharmacy, beauty supply shop, or chain store. The products are very reasonably priced and more importantly for me is that e.l.f. is animal cruelty free (approved by PETA).
The 2 ladies that greeted me were very friendly and one immediately went and got Jason, who was going to do my makeover.
Jason is truly awesome! He is a beautiful person, and in my opinion would make a wonderful model/​spokesperson for e.l.f. He was so friendly to talk to and made me feel right at home as I sat down for my makeover. He answered any and all of my questions that I had while he applied my makeup. He often checked in with me to make sure it was the look I was going for. He explained every product he was using and even gave me suggestions how to apply them. I must say that I went in to e.l.f. looking and feeling very blah/​gross — I was actually feeling a little down that day. But when Jason was done I felt and looked like a whole new person! He worked magic! I will definitely be back to try new looks and new products!
Since my first visit, I am slowly switching all of my makeup products over to e.l.f. I have been telling all of my friends and colleagues about e.l.f. and persuading them to try some of the products. Visiting the studio and talking with the super friendly & fun staff is a GREAT way to be introduced to the line of products. I can’t wait to shop there again!

I stopped by here on a whim with my friend before dinner. It was a memorable experience to our luck we met Jason the make up artist. We wanted some makeup but we were overwhelmed with all the choices. We stopped Jason who helped us with some foundation choices & offered to help us apply the makeup, thankfully he had an open space due to a no-​show appt. He was so helpful & patient. He left us looking amazing & we ended up buying almost every product he recommended. He was so detailed & his personality is awesome! Thanks so much Jason hope to see you again this upcoming summer !!

OMG I love this store the products are amazing and at such a great price. I went in do a full makeover by a employee by the name Jason when I say I came in to the store look a mess and came out looking like a million bucks. I knew little to nothing about makeup he made me feel very good about every single thing he made sure he went over each detail step by step to make me satisfied love elf thank you… A+

I was helped in finding an eye primer, face primer, correct color of foundation for my skin tone, contouring kit and corresponding brushes all products were sampled on me prior to purchasing. Michelle then applied a lipstick which I wasn’t looking for but it love it with the look so I got it and is currently my favorite lipstick lol. Nyasha was also helpful.
I haven’t had the make up long enough to have a strong opinion but so far so good

Walked in for the first time ! Great experience. Learned a lot of great things thanks you MICHELLE. She was awesome, very patient, gave me options. Thanks to her I got everything I needed !

So I just want to say that compared to any other makeup shopping experience;this wad literally the best one I have had.
First off the amount of available products was fantastic in all shades of skin tone (including my pasty white ass thank god) and I went in terrified and really not sure what I had to do.
So I went to the cash register and talked to Nyasha and told her I had no idea what I was doing and needed help figuring out what would be best for me because I wanted to wear makeup for my graduation coming up in May
. She straight up walked around the counter and escorted me to the makeup chair thing and reassured me she would help me find everything i needed.
She was so nice even though I was really nervous as first but her friendly personality helped me break open and chat freely without feeling insecure. She walked me through every step, explained in what order and what strokes I needed to do while she showed me (she was so patient with me having to put on and take off my glasses each time) and she made sure I left understanding what I had to do with each product.
I bought damn near everything she threw at me and then some and I havnt felt so confident in putting on my own makeup.
The prices were AMAZING, literally almost everything I bought was 3 dollars or less except for the foundation and foundation brush which were 6 bucks each and I bought at least 15 things and only spent 42 bucks. HOLY CRAP.
This place was amazing, everyone there was so nice (but not in a patranizing «let me make you buy out our store: thing), and I cant recomend Nyasha enough. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Granted the products are ok, but the staff is terrible. Just about every time I go to that store no one greets me or asks if I need help. The only time someone asked me if I needed help was when they had like 6 people on the floor and one person wasn’t doing anything.
Same experience today, not one person acknowledged me. I got to the counter to pay and no one was there for about 5 minutes. A man came out from the back and I said hello and he didn’t say anything. I gave him the stone face so he knows I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but for him to not even say hi… forget it. After he hastily scanned my items, he asked me if I’ve been waiting for a while and I said yes. His voice was so low I could barely hear him. He said something about 20% off my next purchase… not sure why I got that or if it’s a regular thing… I couldn’t hear him.
I’ll probably come back if I need to or I might just go to their store in downtown Brooklyn

the store is great but e.l.f. cosmetics is doing me something aweful in the delivery dept.
i placed an order that was to arrive via #usps after being shipped via fedex smart shipment and… i have the tracking… the order says ‘shipped’ and delivered! however… it’s no where to be found. ok so now it gets punitively painful. so i call cust. srvc. and their response was that my order is ‘lost in translation’. so they shipped out another order. i wait for that shipment and it was sent via fedex same smart shipment route thru unreliable usps and that was the 10^th thru the 15^th. it’s still has not arrived. i was at the post office until 8:30pm last night and i had no assistance!
e.l.f. what’s going on??? where’s my 1^st shipment?

Always a pleasant experience when I come here.
Everything is always neat, in order and never messy.
Products are easy to find and if you can’t find what you’re looking for there are plenty of people you can ask.
The staff seemed very eager to help.
I was shopping for about 15 – 20 minutes and was asked at least 4 times if I needed help in finding something in particular.
Makeup products and brushes are extremely affordable. Prices range anywhere from $ 1-​$ 6. You can’t beat that!

ELF products are affordable and of decent quality. Some of the products can be a hit or miss but they won’t make a major dent in your wallet. I have purchase a couple of items on their website so I was thrilled when I saw they had an actual store to test try products. The store itself was clean and nicely stocked. Upon entering, no one really greeted me even though there wasn’t anyone else there nor did they ask if I needed any help. One of my biggest qualm though, the products are regular price in the store while online they run a promotion almost everyday. I would definitely visit here more often if they ran any type of promotion.

Now the many fans of e.l.f. who have adored it for many years in Target can experience this one stop shop for all their cosmetics goodies! The store is extremely clean and the staff are very helpful for any questions you may have. This is a great addition to Broadway and is perfect for all those who need to make some makeup purchases. With e.l.f. you can get a bang for your buck since they are extremely price friendly. This is a dope addition to the city that make up junkies must experience at least once! I like that the store associates don’t follow you around and bother you at this store. They were readily accessible to answer questions, though. I’ve never tried their products, but their prices are ridiculously low. They also have a pretty large selection of items. The store is clean and well-​stocked.

e.l.f. is just a few blocks from my apartment so I tend to go there a lot. Their prices are super low ($ 6 for face primer, $ 2 nail polish, $ 6 foundation, etc.) and being able to try out makeup lets you find unexpected items. But this isn’t Sephora and the quality is much lower.
For example, I was super happy with there poreless face primer ($ 6), when I was using it bare minerals. But then I tried using it with their stick foundation ($ 6) and it was a mess. I’ve also tried it with Sephora’s airbrush foundation and it becomes too runny.
In general, my experiences with their foundations hasn’t been good. The mascara I bought also dried out very quickly and then the applicator broke. But some of their products like lipstick or blush (that you can easily retouch if needed) are good buys.
The staff can be helpful if the store isn’t too crowed, but I’ve asked for help selecting a blush color several times now and was not happy with their selections. But their prices are often a ¹⁄₅ of Sephora so it’s hard to complain.

Love e.l.f cosmetics, decent quality and you can’t beat the price. The store is a bit small and the place is always packed with people. I always end up stopping here and getting something when I am around the area. The eye shadows might not be the best of quality, but their lipstick selection is pretty solid. They have a lot of beautiful colors and are very pigmented. Also, I have to say that I love their brushes. I’ve bough e.l.f brushes years ago and still use them now.

My daughter, two friends and I went here to pick up a few things.
The positive; the store was clean. Everything was in the correct section and you can’t beat the price.
The not — so– positive; the staff was inattentive. Several times I had to practically grab a shop girl by the arm in order to ask questions.
Overall the lack of efficient customer service left me yearning for Sephora.

$ 3.00 makeup brushes! Who, what, why… Why didn’t anyone tell me about this?!? I’ve been wasting all this time, energy and MONEY with Sephora.
I will admit that I did have to tighten the e.l.f blush brush head to the body, but it still hasn’t come loose again. Plus who cares??? 3 bucks vs. 28… I don’t care if it doesn’t last 6 months. I hate cleaning my Sephora foundation brush and if I had only paid $ 3.00 for it, I would have tossed it bought a new one by now. You know… for hygiene purposes. Not because I’m lazy and wasteful.
Sure this e.l.f Studio isn’t nearly as large and comprehensive as Sephora, but I’m nobody’s makeup artiste, so it’s not that serious. I’m still buying Revlon ColorStay when it’s BOGO50% at CVS. Hey, don’t knock the ColorStay. It’s pretty damn good coverage and lasts all day. But at e.l.f Studio’s price point, I feel freer to experiment with new products and techniques. If I don’t like it, at least I only paid 3 bucks for it.
