Is this the same truck thats on 97th and Columbus in front of Whole Foods? If not, they should have a Unilocal profile for them! If so, then I’m tots living in the Twilight Zone. First off let me start of by saying that I stumbled upon this turck when shopping at whole foods one Sunday afternoon. I was getting tired of the same old spread in whole foods and decided to try this bad boy because I always see a long line out front. To my surprise the food is actully really good. The prices are decent but all in all its so better than chipotle. Im tired of dealing with chipotle thots so this was a refreshing take on mexican food. My one peeve of it all is that they still charge me the same price as they would with a burrito stuffed with meat. Now dont get me wrong, the ingredients are on point and fresh but why would I get charged the same amout for a burrito with no meat. Ive been a vegiterian for eight years now, and this is just a plain let down. Im just saying take off a dollar or two when I dont want any meat in my burrito. #justsaying #sorrynotsorry #givemeadiscount #veggiepower Or better yet make a veggies burrito that doesnt cost eught bucks ;-)

Yummy goodness! Short rib burrito is huge and delicious. It’s filled with large chunks of short rib which is probably why it weighs like a brick, glad they didn’t skim on the good stuff. I also tried the Mahi Mahi taco which was also really good. It was spicy marinated fresh fish and a sweet pineapple salsa which supposed my tongue. Since I’m no pro at eating super spicy food I kinda wished there was some more pineapple but overall it was good! I’ll be going again.

The lengua taco was just okay. Even though it wasn’t outstanding, it was actually pretty tender. The salsa verde had more star power. The short rib taco was awesome!!! The BBQ sauce balanced nicely with the watermelon salsa. The little girl I’m babysitting tried it. She said, «Mmmmm… I like the meat! It’s a little spicy.» LOL

The El Paso Taco Truck may be new but El Paso’s «sit-in» restaurant has been around for some time. I had visited their locale in Spanish Harlem with some friends and always lamented we didn’t have a place like further down the UES. Imagine my surprise when I saw this truck for the first time last week! Today, I finally tried it. Just had the Mahi-Mahi and the Al Pastor tacos. Both were yummy in very different ways. Neither one of them was very spicy though, I don’t mind just putting some Tabasco sauce on them but just FYI. The service was pretty fast and cordial. The truck looks spanking new and very clean, in fact they were getting inspected as I got my food. Obviously their menu is more restricted than their other location but both tacos were just lovely :) This will probably be a big hit with the hospital crowd!

I can’t believe the El Paso truck is not on Unilocal. This is easily the best express Mexican experience in Manhattan. After months of frustration in trying East Side Mexican food(I tried almost everything south east of 5th and 85th), I desperately took the advice of Dean B and ventured towards E.116th with a few equally dispirited friends. We walked down the block a few times looking for the«sit in» El Paso Tacqueria(of good repute on Unilocal) but in the end decided the taco truck between Lex and Third Ave. had all the right signs of authenticity: a)little kid offering refreshing home made horchata, and lime aid. b)$ 2 tacos packed with your choice of freshly grilled Carnitas, Al Pastore, Steak, Tongue or Chicken. c)Owner of the truck business catching up with neighborhood folks while cradling his young child. d)Friendly tattooed fellow cooking up the meet! Add a condiment bar with radishes, cucumber and salsa and you’re in Mission St., SF. There is simply nothing to complain about. Guac wasn’t great, but who the hell cares. El Paso is a local gem.
