Consistently great deli food at a super modest price. I had the sweet chicken sandwich on a roll. Great quality roll, super tasty and perfectly Cooked chicken cutlet. Roasted red peppers and grilled onions. They served it up in less than 3 minutes. Good stuff.

Absolutely love this place. There is a huge selection of hot food for lunch and all are delicious. Theres fruit, salads, and you can get some mighty good sandwiches here. Best of all, it is all decently priced. Its about two blocks from Hunter so pretty easy to get lunch on school days. They’re also good for breakfast. This place is a little gem in the neighborhood. I heard about it through my friend and would never have known about it otherwise. Overall, great food and awesome service.

Fresh salad and hot food bar. Had a salad and a Cuban sandwich, very tasty. Price was fair. I would go back.

Great value for this area. Lots of cold and hot sub options. Chicken philly, Italian subs, etc. They have a salad bar that looks pretty good. Grilled chicken, salmon, cod.

By far the best worst place in UES. I merely asked one questions«where is your breakfast menu and the chubby guy behind the counter said to me «you don’t see the board? Pay attention to the board. I merely laughed and left surprised at how rude they are.

I love this deli! They have the best buffet selection. They have this salmon dish that is amazing and they always have a variety of chicken to choose from. Elim is by far the best place to get a quick lunch for cheap in the city. There are so many options for food at this deli. You can get a burger, sandwich, bagel, buffet, salad, a muffin, so much more! I like to raid the buffet for lunch and the cost is usually around $ 6-$ 8. If you go for the buffet, I would try to get there before 3 pm because at that time they start to run out of food and they don’t like to restock the buffet past 3 pm.

The Asian lady who works here is RUDE! She does anything to prevent hunter students from getting the 10% discount and was plain rude. Go to Hunter Deli instead!

My son and were were on our way to one of our favorite food trucks near the corner of 68th St. and Lexington Ave. when we discovered it was not parked there that day. So we then went in search of a good cheap deli(and this place fit the bill thanks to Unilocal). We ended up going here twice during my two day visit in the city. On the the first visit we got roast beef hoagies. My son’s had cheddar while mine had swiss. Both were topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapeño peppers and spicy mustard — Delicious! And cheap. Perhaps not the best quality ingredients, but decent and fast. About 12 bucks and change with sodas. The were(are) a few scant tables in the place to sit and eat. Next to us were four or 5 young hispanic workers, off the clock, drinking tall cans /tall bottles of beer chatting away in Spanish. For the second meal(the next day) we had 2 breakfast platters here. They consisted of 2 eggs, bacon, toast, and home fries. My son had a club soda while I had a V8. Again, about 12 bucks and change. Good, cheap and fast. Decent quality. I am a fan and will be back when in the neighborhood. Perhaps this place really deserves 3.5 stars; however, it may not suit everyones tastes. The folks that run this place are nice people and they sell no-frills(yet good quality) product for a low price in an area known for vendors selling low /sub-par quality stuff at a high /inflated prices.

Don’t understand the good reviews. This place is in a food dead zone, so maybe it’s just desperation? Everything is at least a little below average. The sandwiches are slapped together without any care and the ingredients rarely taste fresh. There’s a large hot and cold buffet, but nothing really stands out and a lot of basics are done poorly. At least it’s cheap.

Their hot lunch bar is way better than most. The bbq pork ribs were tender and falling off the bone. They had rice tossed with mushrooms and fresh spinach, and good meatballs. The gyoza were pretty good quality. It also wasn’t painfully salty like a lot of lunch buffets and included a decent variety of vegetable options. I’ll definitely go back.

I’ve only been here for breakfast but it’s definitely an amazing deal for UES. It’s a very no frills place but the prices are good, food is quite good, and it comes out pretty fast. I usually get two eggs platter(l get scrambled, which means is almost like a naked omelet) that comes with home fries and basic buttered toast which is only $ 3.50. Home fries are actually really good here and I put hot sauce on the eggs and I have a complete delicious breakfast. It also comes with coffee but if you don’t like that like me, you’re allowed to get tea instead which they have a wide selection of. I definitely need to come back here for lunch.

Cheap sandwiches but these sandwiches lack quality. I ordered this in for lunch at work. I had the corned beef and pastrami sandwich and my coworker had the cranberry turkey sandwich. The corned beef and pastrami was completely sub par. The Cranberry turkey sandwich contained canned cranberry sauce.

Great NY deli. My wife had a classic deli sandwhich and I had a burger and fries. My burger was good and she could only eat half the sandwhich… looks like she’ll be having leftovers later. Would definitely recommend for a NY deli sandwhich.

Try the veggie quesadilla, and make sure to ask for guacamole and pico de gallo in it. Soo good. I also like the salad bar options, the seaweed salad, avocado salad and fruit selection is so satisfying.

Cheap, efficient, and polite. But my tuna salad sandwich was not very tasty. I would go back here, but it doesn’t seem to warrant back-to-back 5 star reviews. I guess in midtown, anything decent is exceptional.

Passed right by it! Was looking for a quick bite to eat and thank you Unilocal for being on point with this place. The selection is amazing considering I was deciding between a veggie quesadilla, a mozzarella flat bread and the veggie bibimbap which won out in the end. Lots of drinks and snacks to choose from and service is wonderful though I can see it being busy during lunch time and not many tables to sit at. Takes credit cards $ 5 min.

THISPLACEISONPOINT. Everyone from my work goes here on break for sandwiches, salads, quesadillas, or hot prepared food. It’s always good and reasonably priced. Staff is efficient and cordial, exactly what I’m looking for on a short lunch break.

I was in need of a good deli while taking classes in the Upper East Side and found this place thanks to Unilocal. You would never guess it, but Elim may have the best fried chicken cutlets I ever had from a deli in Manhattan. Seriously. I guess it’s not that much of a secret because they ran out of fried chicken cutlets one weekday around 12:30PM, but even their grilled chicken cutlets are fresh and packed with flavor. I also like the variety of snacks along the counter(snapea crisps!). Wonderful customer service, extremely quick, and very delicious.

I literally just ate the most delicious spicy chicken sandwich and now I’m writing this review because I’m so happy I discovered this place! For less than $ 7, I got a spicy chicken sandwich on a roll that included mozzarella cheese, jalapenos, caramelized onions and tobasco sauce. Considering the area that this deli is in, this place is a steal! It’s your standard hole-in-the-wall deli but has a plethora of food options – you can get an assortment of food at the buffet stand, get a salad, cold cuts or hot sandwiches, burgers, as well as a bunch of other things. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

Great spot !! Has a deli and a small buffet! I tried the Cuban panini and the club panini!!! They were both delicious! They have coffee, no expresso but just regular brewed coffee. Plus a lot of other drinks(sodas, teas) If u get a chance and your hungry this place is a must!
