Hands down the best money I spent in my life. Spent the first quarter of my life self conscience about taking my shirt off in private and public. Dr Jacobs changed that for good. I have since redone my procedure with another doctor who had amazing bedside manner and charged me only $ 1500 for what this guy charged me almost $ 5000 in the end because he had to redo because he couldn’t do it right. Stay away from this guy he is a ripoff artist and has no Integrity. Go to dr Thomas loeb. He is amazing and his office is beautiful! I should say that he originally charged me $ 3500 but when He messed up he charged me another $ 1500 to redo it and when he did, the stitches came out. He would not and still has not refunded me for the $ 1500 for the second procedure that he did a horrible stitch job as they fell out. He did not care. I’ll remove this review when I receive my $ 1500 back from this crook.

When I was a kid, I was exposed to enormous amounts of radiation, which eventually screwed up my hormonal levels and caused gynecomastia and nipple hypertrophy. Things became worse when a doctor put me on Clomid in the hope to raise my testosterone levels. For ten long years, I suffered with such a severe case of gynecomastia that I felt embarrassed to even wear a bathing suit at the pool or on the beach. During the summer, I would hide my chest behind several layers of shirts. I never thought that plastic surgery could help me since I thought that plastic surgery is only for vain people who want to look beautiful, but one day I realized that my belief was wrong and that plastic surgery can be an amazing solution to correct serious physical problems and make people regain self confidence and self esteem. I made my own research online and I realized that Dr. Elliot Jacobs is the number one expert in surgical correction of gynecomastia. He has operated on thousands of men, developed his own surgical technique, created specialized tools for aggressive liposuction and removal of breast tissue, and devised a smooth recovery strategy that does not require drainage. I made an appointment with Dr. Jacobs and immediately knew I was in the right hands. He encouraged me to interview other doctors but I told him that I had already done my research and I did not have any intention to even meet other doctors. Perhaps he is more expensive than other doctors, but since I wanted to heal from a disfiguring condition, I realized that it did not make sense to save money with a cheaper and less experienced doctor, who would perhaps correct the problem only partially or cause some other type of disfigurement. Dr. Jacobs cares a lot about his patients and understands the psychological pain they endure as a result of their disfigurements. Dr. Jacobs’ staff is also very compassionate and respectful, and never once did I feel embarrassed to discuss my condition with his secretary or nurse.
Dr. Jacobs is not only a doctor but, I can say, an artist and sculptor. At the end of the surgery, he showed me that he had removed about a pound and a half of breast tissue and fat from my chest! My nipples were also shaved in order to reduce their projection. I followed Dr. Jacobs’ recovery directions scrupulously and, in spite of the large amount of tissue he removed, the skin of my chest retracted completely, and seamlessly adhered to the underlying muscle tissue. I cannot believe my own eyes: when I flex my pecs I can now see my chest muscles’ striations. A small amount of scar tissue developed under the right nipple and Dr. Jacobs reduced it with some injections of a drug called Kenalog. This drug must be injected with care since it could erode muscle tissue and even the skin, but Dr. Jacobs skillfully injected only in the scar tissue and no other tissue was affected. I got so enthusiastic and self-​confident about such a great improvement in my body that I started working out intensively. At the age of 45, I have the body of a 21 year-​old man. To my surprise, a lot of guys at the gym, who have no idea about the gynecomastia that had once affected me and the surgery I had to undergo to eliminate it, now come to me to congratulate me on my body shape saying things like, «Your chest is your best body part.» I can honestly say that my chest looks perfect. There are no visible scars, no asymmetries, and no traces of breast tissue or fat. My chest looks better than if I had never had gynecomastia and surgically corrected it! I could not be happier for the results of this surgery. I only regret that I waited ten years to go to Dr. Jacobs. I am very grateful to Dr. Jacobs. He literally saved my life from poor self esteem, insecurity, and lack of confidence in myself.

Dr. Jacobs did a great job with the gynecomastia surgery. This is not a simple procedure — so I took my time to research different Dr.‘s across the country and after a long list ended up going with Dr. Jacobs. He is more expensive than the others but I didn’t want to risk a sub-​optimal outcome.
The most important thing I can emphasize is patience. The first month after the surgery, it looked bad (understandably so) and having to wear the pressure vest was annoying especially with work and business travel — but I got through it. Roughly 3 months after the surgery I started lifting weights and bench pressing again and the scaring was still visible. 10 months have gone by now and it is not even noticeable that I had surgery.

I wanted so bad to give 1 star, but i don’t think any other surgeon could have done a better job with my gynecomastia problem. That being said, i agree with David J. review saying that scar tissue WILL form and may be frustrating to see almost no improvements after surgery. Unless you are a doctor, you don’t know what a «scar tissue» is until you see it. I thought it was a «scar» problem rather than a «tissue» problem and i think this should’ve been explained better. Seven months after surgery i can say that i see GREAT improvements after injections by Dr. Jacobs and minimal scars in the sides of the chest. Dr. Jacobs is a great surgeon and it could have been a 5 star review if it wasn’t for my last visit to his office. There is a little be of scar tissue left and i wanted to know if there is anything i could do to remove it (including another surgery) because i wanted it to be perfect. He snapped. He said if he continues with the injections, it could open a hole in my chest and he wouldn’t do it (i totally agree!). Then he opened the door and said if i look for other surgeon to fix it i would be STUPID to do so… if he had called me stupid in private i wouldn’t be so offended. But he didn’t. Everyone from his office heard and i left that place embarrassed. I have nothing against Dr. Jacobs and i think he is the best surgeon for gynecomastia in NYC, but what he did was unprofessional and immature.

What a pleasure! The office is beautiful, spotless and elegantly lush. The staff was superbly kind, attentive and knowledgable. Dr. Jacobs was thorough, patient and meticulous in his examination and explanation.
The entire experience both with the staff and the doctor was calm and unhurried, not like the pushiness of some other places. I felt like I was a valued patient and not just another dollar sign surgery to book.

I was a former competitive athlete whose lifestyle was always centered around the gym. I always had a big appetite and never had to worry about my weight because I was always in great shape. After I stopped playing, I put on a lot of weight and I developed gynecomastia. It was a big blow to my self esteem being that I was always in peak physical condition. I was afraid to wear a t-​shirt or pose in pictures with my shirt off. I finally decided that I needed to do something about it. I went to Dr. Jacobs’ office for a consultation. He and his staff were warm and professional. He answered all my questions and was very descriptive in terms of how was going to approach the surgery. His anesthesiologist was also extremely nice. I went in for a 3 hour surgery and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. Follow up on post-​op was great, the healing process was much quicker than I expected. Dr. Jacobs did a fantastic job and it truly changed my life. My self esteem is back and I am back in the gym now and I feel amazing. If you have gynecomastia Dr. Jacobs is the best surgeon in New York City for it. Hands down.

…It takes an excellent staff and Physician to WOO me over, as I am 41 years old and have seen just about as many doctor’s as I have hamburger stands. Might I state that ELIOT W. JACOBS and staff were the most courteous, effiecient and proficient I have found in my lifetime. I went in for an elective 3 hour surgery and left feeling like a new person, and like I was royalty. The pre-​procedure meeting was as comforting as the surgery itself! The results were BETTER THAN EXPECTED, and I give 10 STARS for outcome! The ensuite surgical facility made it easier to come and go from the procedure, and all major equipment expected was present. My entire surgical staff, including the Anesthesiologist were versed, explanatory, and kind and left me so renewed, that when I was awakened and sent in to recovery for an hour or so, I felt as If I wanted to go eat and then go for a run in Central Park: of course that would have been a bad idea following such a precise surgical procedure as mine. Lastly, I recommend Dr. Eliot W. Jacobs, and want to extend a formal thank you to Kathy and Jennifer for handling all of me pre-​surgery calls and post surgery follow up visit. I’ve been to Dr. Jacobs 2x for fillers and botox. He is definitely the best cosmetic surgeon I have visited overall! I just turned 50, and although I love myself, I felt I needed a bit of a «lift», pun intended! I have been a botox and filler patient for a few years now, and have visited quite a few different surgeons over the years. I never felt like the doctors’ really cared about my face … it was as if they were going through the motions, and doing the same for each patient, Dr. Jacobs is different … he actually looks at my face and tells me what I did and didn’t need. in fact, I wanted more and he said no … that’s what I call a doctor who actually cares about the individual, and not his bottom line. Dr, Jacobs is now my permanent go to guy when I feel as if my face needs a pick me up … have no doubts if you decide to make an appointment with him … he is better than good at what he does!

Had Juvederm and Botox done after purchasing a Gilt City certificate. I was very happy with the results and would recommend him to others looking for the same. The office staff was professional and helpful and even gave me some cover up after my procedure to hide the redness on my way home. I will be going back for more!

I arrived on with time to fill out my paperwork and Kathy at the front desk was wonderful. She had me in on schedule. Dr Jacobs is nice and asked a lot of questions to do a through evaluation. I was then treated with a numbing cream and asked to wait the 15 minutes to have it take effect. Next Dr Jacobs took me back and injected a syringe of Juvederm. He reminded me to watch for bumps and gave me a gel ice pack. Kathy gave me another as I headed out. All were professional and it was a great experience. I would definately suggest Dr Jacobs for your filler needs. I am starting to really look fabulous!!! I didnt have any swelling or bruising. It was great experience.
