I know nothing about Argentinian food but tried the lomito based on the Unilocal reviews. Maybe it’s because I was sober, but it was an «eh» to me. I just didn’t get it. If I’m ever in the mood to try them again, maybe I’ll go with the empanadas instead.

Unbelievably good Argentinian street food. I had a Lomito. Steak, ham, eggs, cheese, lettuce & tomato on a roll. Steak was grilled nicely and was excellent in quality and taste. Ham could have been hotter but why quibble. This truck rocks and the hard working crew ate nice. Definitely going back to explore more of the menu.

Que pasa che? lol —FYI That’s how Argentinians say«Whats up dude» in Spanish lol Anyways, growing up as a child I’ve always had the pleasure to indulge in these tasty and warm Empanadas as a snack at school. Most empanadas in Costa Rica where I grew up were filled with Beans, Cheese, and Chicken so I was curious to find out how Argentinian Empanadas taste like so I decided to give it a try for lunch today. The owners are really nice and very attentive to your needs. I got the Cheese, Corn, and Chicken Empanada. At $ 2, these were pretty big and were so good and filling! Corn and Chicken was good but nothing special but the Cheese Empanada, yes the CHEESE one was just SUPERB, it’s the cheese that they use, sort of like the cheese you see on Arepas I think it was Fresh Farmer’s Cheese or something. It had a semi-sweet taste and it was soft and chewy… YUM! They also have spicy sauce that they give out if you request and the spicy sauce is definitely spicy but a tasty kind of spicy! :) And oh yeah, please DO try their Argentine sandwich, that is one HUGE and SCRUMPTIOUS Sandwich with Steak, Eggs, Ham, and a whole lot of things stuffed inside the goodness!!!

Gotta love good empanadas on the go at 8AM. The people who work the truck are super-duper nice and accommodating. They do get busier during lunchtime and the lady recommends calling her beforehand to put your order in. $ 2 for empanadas($ 5 if you buy 3). LOVE their cheese empanada, it is so flavorful. I hear their steak is really juicy and delicious. They’re supposed to have great lunch specials as well, will have to give ‘em a try next time.

This food truck is definitely a hidden gem and worth walking out of your way to get to. I really wish I went with more empanadas instead of the argentinian sandwich, but don’t really regret getting the sandwich. This was the best empanada I have had. The outside tastes like fried dough, but a little less sweet. It’s really greasy so you know it’s good. I’d suggest not getting the ham and cheese and go with one of the other options. The argentinian sandwich has steak, ham, egg, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and mustard. It’s pretty big, but would’ve been easy to finish without the empanada as an appetizer.

This is a truck that is only in this location from Wednesday to Friday during the day. There being the south side of 26th St., just east of 6th Ave. I have never had Argentine food before, so I am basing this only on my personal taste of what is delicious. My colleague Rich who is known not only in the NY office as being the resident foodie, but among our Houston, DC and London coworkers as well, discovered this truck last week. He said the beef empanadas were worth walking 7 blocks to seek out. So, we split an empanada while we waited for our lunch orders. Rich knew to ask for a little container of chimichurri sauce to pour over the empanada. He said it was a little oilier than it should have been. It still tasted fresh and with a nice parsley and garlic kick. I had a moment of wanting to order the«healthy» option and considered getting the chicken over salad and rice. Rich said the steak was really the more authentic option, so I caved. This is my healthy eating downfall. If I have the opportunity to eat something out of the ordinary and it’s unhealthy, I will eat it in the name of adventure. So I went with the skirt steak over rice and salad and french fries. There were some beans mixed in with the rice. The fries were crispy and freshly made. The steak was cooked to order! And that big plate of food that I could not finish cost $ 7. Rich also advised pouring another whole container of chimichurri over the steak, which was smart because it was a teeny bit on the dry side, but still fairly tender. Other options include the Argentine sandwich, which had an egg over steak or something. As soon as I heard egg, I blocked it out. They have a few breakfast items listed as well, so the truck must be there in the mornings, too. I will definitely go back and I might even eat all 3 kinds of $ 2 empanadas(beef, chicken, cheese) in the name of adventure.
