Just ran a 10k and they kicked us out of our seats. They also took 20 minutes to microwave quiche. We also got quiche because they ran out of eggs to make breakfast sandwiches. They also burnt two breakfast sandwiches while we were waiting for our quiche. They also ran out of coffee.

Love the Epicerie Boulud! The raspberry chocolate croissant tasted as good as it looked! The freshly made sorbet of cherry and pistachio was marvelous! I also really loved the imported nougat that they carried it’s one of the most amazing noughat that I ever tasted from Montelimar!

You might think Epicerie Boulud would be a nice place to stop for a drink and snacks after a Lincoln Center performance. You would be wrong. At 10:30 pm the bartenders informed us that beer and tapas were no longer available, served us terrible pinot noir and a rancid tasting beaujolais villages, and wouldn’t even give us almonds. Next time I’m going elsewhere; you should too.

In the picture are 2 chocolate croissants with nutella, a rasberry chocolate croissant(notice rhe rasberry stripes!) and 2 canneles de bordeaux. Excellent… excellent…wonderful done pastries. In New York there are a lot of bakeries… and I have been to a good number. But I have NEVER seen a rasberry croissant WITHRASBERRYSTRIPING! And never came across a croissant with Nutella. These are just a few of the phonemenal artistic delectables on showcase. There is a wonderful assortment of small meals that will rock your socks also!

Located on «Boulud corner» on Broadway is this awesome French bakery. I make it no secret that I am a huge fan of Mr. Boulud. After all he is one of the few chefs that I give credit to for getting me into food. This is always a must stop for me when I’m in the city. I come here to stock up on macaroons before departing back home to Florida. I usually get an assortment of two dozen. They are sooooo friggin good, that I usually end up eating about half of them during my cab ride back to my hotel lol. I love the madelines as well. I’ve also had several of his other items and have enjoyed each one of them. As others have mentioned the service is pretty disappointing here. While I’m not a regular here, I’ve generally had to stand around and be ignored for several minutes by the employees. At that point I turn into a true New Yorker and start screaming at them for assistance. Then they come over and help me. I don’t mind though since I am only able to come here a few times a year, so I happily put up with it. The space here is pretty big and they have a large assortment of pastries, sandwiches, chocolates, oysters and other items. It is quite modern and bright inside as well. It has been spotless on each one of my visits here. All in all this is a great French bakery in my opinion and it is worth a stop in if you’re in the area. I’ll be in the city again in a few weeks and I can’t wait to pop in and try some things that I haven’t experienced here before. Merci Monsieur Boulud.

This is a good coffee spot with decorative snacks and select lunch menu. The location is kind of hidden in the mix of restaurants along Broadway. There are tables to stand by but nothing inviting. The outside appearance could use some work!

Cons: 1) the shop doesn’t have seats, only tables, where is not so fun to stand; 2) the food is ok; 3) too expensive for this kind of quality of food. Pros: 1) French style of music; 2) have the oysters bar, wanna try next time if I back.

America is not known for good coffee. Occasionally you’ll find a place that does a pretty good job though. PLUS then you add the baked delicacies, in house gourmet Hot Dogs, Chocolates, sandwiches and more, you’ve a great place to call into for a coffee, snack or lunch.

Their raspberry croissants are huge. Not the best croissant ever in terms of buttery, flakiness(think Bien Cuit). But the inside is filled with a raspberry chocolate cream, which is an interesting variation from the usual plain or almond croissant. They have a flourless chocolate cookie with hazelnut. I ate mine on the next day, so the cookie was dry outside but still chewy inside. It has big pieces of hazelnuts and chocolate chunks. I had to try it because I like flourless baked goods.

I have been using this place mostly to pick up quick breakfast items(pastry and coffee) for about a year, sometimes for a oyster bar, and rarely for a lunch items. Pastry and food is good. Coffee is decent if you are not too picky. But people works there does not pay attention to the customers or what they are doing regardless to the crowdness of the place. They seem to enjoy colleague chatting more, or being mind elsewhere state, or simply don’t care. No improvement for a year and can not expect any for the future unfortunately. After all, this is the place to pick up good quality of breakfast/lunch items, but you just have to be bit cautious if the staff is not forgetting/misunderstanding you’re order.(Or not making coffee flavored soy milk instead of soy latte or being over charged for their mispacking of items…)

The Customers service at this place lately is really bad. The only person that used to be good is Ramon, I believe was his name. Really good supervisor. Now it takes longer for you to know where you need to pay, where to pick up you food and every one seeing to be unhappy, giving you attitude.

It’s not good at all. Food is mediocre to say the least. I would rather go to Franco Payard or Maison than this. Dissappointment!

Okay but a little bit expensive, a hot dog is eight dollars and a veggie panini is ten dollars… One thing is very good: I met a old couple there, we talked about the movie, there son who went to school in Yale although he was also admitted to MIT… and the face that the old woman is from England and the old man is form Hungary.

Epicerie Boulud fits in just right in a row of badly overpriced, not-quite-great restaurants that flank Lincoln Center. If you don’t want to fight the crowds at The Smith, and you don’t want pasta at Fiorello’s, by all means, grab a fantastic croissant for $ 5 or whatever at this bakery. But don’t expect to sit down, because there aren’t any chairs, just chic little standing tables just astride the cashier lines. And if you do want to sit down, the menu is totally different, so beware that, as well. You’ll probably like whatever you get here. And if you’re a tourist, you may love it, and the prices may not offend you as much as they do me.

This is a really cute shop. The family and I stopped in for coffee and treats and what a great assortment they had! A gentleman carving up prosciutto gave me and the hubby a sample which was quite delicious. The girls had croissants and we had coffee. We were very pleased with the quality of our goodies. We will definitely pop in again for a quick lunch.

I LOVE the food. Succulent. But the experience is ruined by POOR unpleasant service over and over again. Not Boulud style. Daniel can do better. Train your staff to smile and listen. After all we pay for that too.

We were looking for something quick to eat for lunch that was notch better than fast food. Epicerie Boulud seemed to meet the need. I ordered the Parisienne quiche. Even though it was obviously warmed up it still tasted pretty fresh. Just the right amount of tasty ham, mushrooms, and leeks. It is served with a fresh arugula salad on the side. It was too cold to sit outside(even though they did have heaters). Instead we chose to have a drink with our food while standing at the bar. While standing at the bar I noticed they have a nice cheese plate, oysters, and freshly sliced charcuterie on the menu at the bar. I could see myself stopping into this quick place to get a cheese and meat plate and a glass of wine to take a break from shopping. As a bonus it seems like they don’t have a bathroom but you get to use one that is shared with another restaurant next door.

Great place for many things in one place. If you want a quick to go bolud experience, this is the place to go. Hypes: — Pastries: seriously amazing. Those fancy high end ones, cookies, cakes, croissants. We always get a box here when having company or grab a box of desserts when going to someones for dinner. — Coffee: legit — iced and regular. — Ice cream: definitely get the black cherry pistachio — Hot dogs: LOVE the lamb merguez. Its my favorite. The Banh mi dog is pretty good as well… a bit on the salty side here but perfect spice to both these dawgs. The bread is crispy and warm as well — oyster bar Gripes: — No place to sit — so prepare to get to go or stand at the tables set up — can be overly crowded with prissy people at times — go when its not rush AM or lunch time — personally, the sandwiches aren’t worth getting — too small, not flavored enough

Great little French bakery and shop near the Lincoln Center. They have lunch specials like soup and sandwich, great prepared salads, outstanding panini choices and wonderful baked goods. Everything we had was great… the soup, the peach tart, the croissant, the panino. Stop by if you are in the area, you will enjoy anything you get…

Outstanding! Went twice today lol first time forgot my phone so no pictures of the oysters and boeufbourguignon :(but I went later to have a Cuban sandwich and it was incredible! A little different then the traditional but I personally prefer the one. The beef burgundy was amazing, soft and with the taste of real wine! The vegetables were not over cooked but tender as they should be in this dish, and of course it was served over mash potato!(Buttery and silky that married the sauce of the meat to exquisite perfection)

I would recommend their baked goods, breakfast items(like parfaits, etc), and their iced coffee. Especially the latter — I never really enjoy iced coffee, always feeling like it’s too watery but their has really good flavor and isn’t easily watered down. It’s nice this place is open super early so you can grab some yummy breakfast, and chill at one of their standing tables. I’ve had the chia pudding(which is good, not too sweet but a little interesting/strange with the brazillian nuts), the pretzel with caraway seeds, and the plain crossiant(they have a decadenet looking raspberry/chocolate one). Everything looks so pretty. they have the usual French and also the non usual French pastries here. Both the baked good were delicious — the pretzel very soft, fresh, and the crossaint was very buttery and well constructed. I feel like I judge all French places on croissants. I also tried an assortment of macaroons and I find these are well constructed — and a bit softer and sweeter than other macaroons I’ve tried. they have very standard/classic flavors.

Got two macarons(peach verbena and pistachio) and they were both delectable. The outer egg white shells were perfected and the inside filling was not too sweet. Will come back again.

They have a great selection of take-away salads and pastries and sandwiches to order. When I’m on the UWS and need a light breakfast or smack, this is the perfect spot. My go-to snacks are the berry fruit salad or the pea salad. I feel a little too guilty to go directly from yoga class to buying croissants but have purchased some croissants that were very well-received. It’s never particularly crowded and service is always very fast.

I’m a macaron bloodhound! I find and destroy(by voraciously eating) macarons. In my off-time, I correct people when they say macaroon and actually mean macaron. So, suffice it to say that I’ve had a macaron or two in my life. When my friend told me we had to visit Daniel Boulud’s for some macarons, I jumped on the idea. The only problem was that we were 35 blocks away. Normally, walking far out of my way for a treat creates unreasonably high expectations that nobody/nothing can live up to, but OHMAN! These little macarons are damn good. Light crispness on the outside, slight sponginess and very flavorful ganache.

Hands down a refined patiserrie, confit, flower, wine, lunch café for slow-fast food. From quiche to grill cheese or salads it is totally French and quality delish. It gets crowded and its standing room only inside very Euro and So American style but there is limited outdoor seating with a view of the plaza. Daniel Boulud has literally cornered that market with its two other locales right next door and around the corner. I’ve been to all his venues and this is the only one with a consistent quality of service and food… Oddly enough. Great for a quick bite before a matinée, with more options than you will find in the theater cafes for sure.

I have to say wow!!! Great job on the décor. Just when I thought the bucks, the beanie, and other various Café start up saturated the upper West this pops up. The coffee is tasty and the sweets are up there in price but it’s justified from the outside looking in. Literally, I didn’t want to walk in to buy coffee cause the place looks very trendy and uppity but I walked in anyways cause I thought to myself how expensive can coffee really be. I bought my coffee and was impressed with everything. They have really nice jug handles for the milk, three flavors of honey, and brown sugar. There are no chairs so standing room only. Smart, great way to phase out the people who loiter. The staff was friendly and facilities were clean. They serve a wide array of food so I suggest all who walk by to give it a test drive. If you don’t like the food at least you’ll feel like a million bucks trying it.

The only thing I would be happy to pay for here is their amazing brownies. We had a disappointing lunch here but the coconut chocolate brownies we got to-go from the counter is so good. It was moist, chocolatey and just the right amount of sweetness. Everything at Epicerie Boulud is quite pricey even for Manhattan. We tried 2 of their sandwiches — the Suckling Pig Cubano and the Banh Mi. I’m used to paying less than $ 3 for a Banh Mi sandwich in LA so paying over $ 10 for a below average tasting Banh Mi. The Cubano was $ 13 and actually was a better value for the price. The restaurant is more designed for quick bites and to-go’s. There are some high tables available but no chairs. You can stand and eat only. They have a cold case with several items. They have several different types of pâté and other items ready-made. They also cater too although I’m sure it’s quite expensive. I would recommend skipping this place. The taste is average while the price is high. The only thing I would recommend is their baked goods.

Pricy food but good to try once if you are ever in a need of a snack before a show at the Lincoln center. I tried the bahn mi hot dog, it was good but not worth the price tag. It came out to be 11 $~ but the hot dog is underwhelming. The twist on a banh mi was interesting, but eh =/not worth the try again. The dulche de Leche éclair was also pricy! Was just okay though, was hoping to try the strawberry éclair next time.
