This place is the worst. I have crappy insurance, and this is one of the only places that will take it. I called in September of 2013 to find out how to get my kids added to the patient list. They said I had to schedule an appointment. OK, fine, that sounds normal. I explained that they had just had their well child visits, so the scheduler suggested they get signed up for their flu shots in the Fall. I agreed, and made appointments for both my kids. My son’s appointment was a couple months later, and it was one of the very first of the day. Even so, we waited. And waited. Getting that simple flu shot took 3 hours. We waited in the lobby, which is disgusting. It’s tailor-made to spread germs. Old people were hacking on newborns, everyone was crowded together. And there was no soap in the bathrooms. At a DOCTOR’S office. Even after we were finally called back to the examination room, the doctor kept wandering off. It was crazy. A nurse took pity on us and finally went to retrieve her. Because we waited so long, and we had my daughter with us as well, she offered to go ahead and give my daughter the shot and enter her into the system too. At least, she said, we’d be spared another visit and another long wait. When we left, we had to stand in another line to give some paperwork to the front desk. More waiting. And when we finally got to the front of the line, the woman there took our insurance cards and disappeared into the back. Ten minutes later, I saw her in a coat, leaving the building. I asked her what was going on(there was a big line behind me at this point), and she said she was going on break and I should ask somebody else to find my insurance card, which was lying around somewhere. WTH? Fast forward a few months. My daughter has strep throat. I call to make an appointment, and they tell me that the doctors won’t see her because she hasn’t had a well child visit there. They tell me this NOW? They suggest I take her to the ER. Thanks guys! This place represents everything that is wrong with the US healthcare system.
