Nice atmosphere here. Noise level is conversational, candlelit tables, so it is a good date spot. The clientele is more upscale. Cocktails are very good — strong — but expensive. They will make you anything you want if you ask for it. The wait staff is knowledgeable about drinks which is a plus. The attire for women varies — I wore dark jeans and a blouse which was fine, but there were other women there in heels and dresses. Make sure you make a reservation!

Great happy hour option if you’re in the neighborhood and have the best job in the world, where you’re free from 4 – 6 pm hah. Full prices are pretty expensive though considering the space is just a long, mega dark lounge. I guess others describe it as Gatsbyesque and sexy? The downstairs space is fun for a special occasion though. Some of the drinks taste like gross, overly sweet, beach resort cocktails. But others were surprisingly delish — I recommend the Velvet Breeze and Highlander. There’s also a decent selection of wine and beer if you’re not in the mood for cocktails.

When I was asked if I was double fisting to make the happy hour cut off and that came without judgment I realized I was at my newest«Cheers» like spot! And… the drinks and service are good.

Enjoyed my time here. This place has a nice ambiance. Dark and chic. They have a few options for draft beer and I only had the beer here and it was delicious. They also give you some peanuts to munch on which is always nice. Overall, a nice bar/lounge. Will be back again!

This place is for you if you want to relax and enjoy someone’ . It’s so comfortable and relaxing. Come here if you you especially want to enjoy Someone one’s company, particularly someone you love. They play music from the 1920 and 30s. Such a romantic atmosphere.

One of my favorite cocktail lounges. It’s sexy, it’s old school and it’s delicious. The best seat in the house is of course at the bar — nothing beats watching and breathing in the aroma as the herbs are being muddled and your cocktail being poured. The clientele is usually well behaved: no debauchery from the shots-shooting drunken crowds. That’s for another night. =)

Flatiron Lounge is the epitome of swanky! I’ve been here twice, the first time for happy hour around a year ago, and more recently at 10pm on a Saturday night. This place probably gets a lot more crowded later at night because it was crazy packed the second time around and my group of 5 had to wait around 30 minutes for a table. The price of their cocktails has increased since I was there last year, but the quality of the drinks are well worth the price methinks. They have very interesting concoctions and you can expect your drink to come with a flower inside. The waitress informed us that the petals can actually be eaten! They have a wide variety of cocktails and both times I was there, the waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and able to recommend drinks according to our individual preferences. I’ve enjoyed every single one of the drinks I’ve had there so far — Prospect Park Sour, Dead Bastard, Hawaiian Sunset, Velvet Breeze, and Beijing Mule. This is definitely one of the better and fancier bars around the area and I’d recommend it in a heartbeat. P. S. They give you free snacks that are really addictive and even replenish the snacks if you’re out. Two thumbs up!

This place salvaged a night that could have turned out to be really disappointing for me. It’s my birthday weekend and we were looking for a nice place to have some drinks and our experience at the flat iron lounge made it a really good celebration for my friends and I. We had to wait a little to get a seat. But we were there without a reservation and there was space to hang back with a drink and chat. We eventually got a really nice booth albeit away from the crowd in the lounge so it wouldn’t be the right booth to be in if you’re there to mingle with others. It was perfect for my friends and I though(5 of us) and the service was excellent. The lady came to check on us every so often and they provided snacks. And the drinks were really good. They have a lot of citrusy options(lemon, lime) and a couple had cinnamon in them. But they accommodated my preference to not have cinnamon with my choice of rum cocktail which I definitely appreciated. I also had a dead bastard which is a mix of many different liquors with juice and it was done really well, as in strong without tasting just of alcohol. My friends enjoyed their drinks too and we all have very different tastes when it comes to alcohol so it’s a place where you will be able to find something that you would like. Highly recommend this pretty lounge and definitely hope to be back!

This is a great bar, very sexy and intimate. At bars, I don’t often order cocktails these days(usually stick to wine), but I was intrigued by the Beijing Mule, which the menu describes as being made with Jasmine Vodka, Lime Juice, Ginger, and Pomegranate Molasses. So fancy and delicious! I lost track of how many I consumed. Good crowd, good vibe, good service. Highly recommended.

A sexy bar, no doubt about it. I’m a sucker for Art Deco décor, so I really enjoyed this place. The cocktails were seriously on point and a perfect respite from the freezing winter night. Also, we walked in at 10pm on a Friday and were able to snag two seats at the bar, which is always a plus in my book.

Went here for some drinks to celebrate my sister’s birthday. The atmosphere was classy and chic with a speakeasy-like feel. Music was a bit dated, but was not too loud so that conversation was possible. We ended up sitting at a booth that I reserved that fit 6 people comfortably and 8 at a tight squeeze. No food for purchase is offered here, but they did provide a nut mix free of charge. Service was average. Drinks were creative and had equally creative names. Mine was called tick tick boom which combined strawberry flavors and heat from jalapeño infused liquor. Great drink if you like spicy drinks as it had more spice than similar drinks I’ve tried at other places. Prices are average for Nyc cocktails being between ~$ 12 – 17.

Exactly what we were after — cosy, romantic classy bar with tasty cocktails for a pre-dinner drink. They take reservations and have big booths so I imagine this would be a great place for groups.

This has become one of my go-tos for the area. Nice, large space, great happy hour, and good service. It’s pretty quiet before 9pm, so it’s a great place to bring a friend or date if you want to get some actual conversation in. They give you lots of snacks with your drink, so don’t worry if you’re coming on an empty stomach.

Me and my fiancé love cocktails but unfortunately this place was incredibly disappointing. I started with the Bird of Paradise, a gin based drink with raspberry, lime, and some other stuff. Lime was the third ingredient but it may as well have been the first– it seriously tasted like lime juice and club soda. My fiancé got the Blue Hawaii and it was ‘okay’. We always get two drinks just in case the first are flukes so we got the Silver Surfer and Da Funk. The Silver Surfer should’ve tasted almost like an absinthe-y piña colada however, this drink tasted like… college. There was something about it that reminded me of a whiskey sour and it was disgusting. Likewise, Da Funk wasn’t great. We switched our drinks and the server noticed and asked if we wanted to try anything else(which was awesome!). I decided to to a gin-based drink, and I told her I liked St. Germain and NOLIMES. They brought back gin, aperol, lemon juice, st. germain. The aperol ruined it(again– college), but it was better than the other drinks I had. For $ 15, you can go to any of the other big name cocktail bars and get waaaaay better drinks. So, for taste, they get a 0. The only reason why I’m giving them any stars at all is because our server was so nice and tried to work everything out and even said, ‘I’m not going to make you pay for something you don’t like!’.

This was our Plan B for when Raines Law Room was going to be a long wait. My friend had always wanted to come here so we decided to check it out. It was sooooo pretty. The seating and just the entryway itself. We felt really out of place even though we were dressed up for the night. I forgot what drink I had but it was extremely strong. I actually had to sip it, and knowing me… I don’t usually do that. My friend picked the bartender’s choice and asked our waitress for something fruity and sweet and she got exactly that, but still was buzzed afterwards. I’d come back again.

Flatiron Lounge is a solid cocktail spot. Wonderful loungey feel, without being too gimmicky. Had a handful of cocktails on my most recent trip there. I stayed with whiskey and had: — Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test(named after the Tom Wolfe book). Had pineapple, cacao and Fernet and was served in a coupe glass. Strong but not too strong, and you could definitely taste the Fernet. — Devil went down to Georgia(Tabasco and peach). Loved the spiciness paired with the sweet. — Some off-the-menu lemon/honey/whiskey drink. Light and crisp with a bit of bitterness. Very well balanced. They also give you a fancy assortment of mixed nuts at your table(and will refill it as long as you keep ordering drinks). Waitstaff is super nice and service is relatively quick. Good times were had.

This place is cute. It felt like a Mad Men-sort of bar. Very old-school New York. I could totally see myself wearing a 60s shift dress, swigging a retro cocktail and meeting someone for a secret tryst. If you like fanciness and cocktail bars this place is perfect. It’s low key and perfect for happy hr. Plus they have this delicious Chex-mix like snack that they serve to everyone. I honestly could eat the whole bowl. I don’t normally like sweet drinks but I loved the Beijing Mule especially as ginger and lime are my two favorite things. Next to chocolate and dive bars.

Came here for a birthday party not really knowing what it was all about. For me I would expect a lounge to be a little more laid back than a club but a little more upbeat than just a regular old bar. Upon entering the bar is one main floor with a coat check and bathroom downstairs. The birthday girl had a booth reserved which was fairly small considering the size of the party and unfortunately right next to the door. On to the drinks: they have a very cool menu with a large variety of options, we had a waitress which was great and she was very knowledgable about the drinks and offered some suggestions and recommendations. For my first drink I ordered the Beijing mule which was awesome, definitely recommend trying that. A little while later it got really crowded and I decided to go to the bar to order a drink, bad idea, very slow service. I decided to be daring and go whiskey this time and order the port light, I’m not much of a whiskey drinker but my thought was whiskey and grenadine and passion fruit can’t be so bad, nope it was bad, very lemony and gave me heartburn. Music was eh, not my cup of tea. I’m really still trying to figure out how I feel about this place, interesting drinks, more of a romantic ambiance(i think it would be a great first date place. except its really dark), service was so-so. Overall not too thrilled, didn’t really understand what all the hype was about but willing to give it another shot.

The devil went down to Georgia and must have returned sloshed, cos you can’t just have one. The bartender knows his stuff. The waitress was accommodating and friendly. The retro interior and lighting was pleasant for an easy evening with pals. The cocktails were just great! Would certainly go there again.
