Fleurimond Catering

Recently attended an event catered by this company and was sorely disappointed in the quality of the food. It was quite obvious the food had been prepared at least two days in advance, everything tasted old. The meats were tough and in some cases appeared to be spoiled (or very close to). Additionally, the food lacked flavor and it was apparent the cheapest ingredients were used. It appeared as if everything was thrown together in a hurry and then preserved until the event.
I really wanted to like the food but it was incredibly under-​whelming, although the servers were kind.

I have participated in 3 different activities here. My friend had a wedding back in 2007 that I attended, and they did the food, and it was amazing. Their staff was courteous and dressed really nice I thought. For the wedding, they all wore black cocktail dresses with a flower in their hair matching the brides colors. Everything was on point. I added myself to their mailing list and from there I found out about their other events.
Didnt have much time, until recently. Mid July I attended an afterwork dinner party they held and it was so fun. For $ 25 bucks, I got 3 appetizers, a nice entrée dinner and the most amazing bread pudding I have ever had!
They even had a band and they were great. They had this fun cover band with a cool name I can’t remember. Did I mention the food was really good and I met some fun folks. It’s a nice different way to network.
This not too long ago, I attended a Thai cooking party as well and had an amazing time. The class is really fun because they allow you to do your own cooking for most of the items. We all did our own chopping and prep in our small groups of 4s and then we prepared our individual Thai chicken curries. The rice was done communally, which was a bit disappointing at first, but really, who really needs to make 20 individual pots of rice. LOL. It was cool it was in a restaurant and we had to wear some ugly hair nets, but it was all part of the fun. The instructor was very sweet and the owner, is super funny and made us a laugh quite a bit.
I always find myself meeting people at their functions and thats big for me, cuz im a total connector!
Looking forward to attending another dinner party or at least another cooking party.

I had a great time at the Thai cooking party in July. Yes, the kitchen was a bit cramped, but that’s how kitchens are in restaurants, usually, and you have to work around people.
The food, though, was amazing! Our chef guide encouraged us to be experimental and trust our instincts, which was challenging for me (a guy who always has a recipe), but it was also very liberating. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to become more confident in the kitchen and wants to make themselves a yummy dish with cool people.

I was deciding between 2 to 3 stars, and decided on 3. The cooking took place at a restaurant on lower east side, but the kitchen was just too small to fit a group of 20 people. So unfortunately, we weren’t involved in preparing and cooking the meal as much as we wanted to. Our menu that day: stuffed mushrooms, shrimp salad, chicken marsala, and tiramisu. We split up into groups to prepare different things, but that was a huge turn-​off because I wanted to learn, and I expected to have a good grasp on how to prepare a 4 course meal at the end of the day.
The stuffed mushrooms and shrimp salad was okay. But the chicken marsala and tiramisu didn’t hit the mark. My friend was really looking forward to learning how to make the tiramisu, but the recipe was bootleg because they substituted lady fingers with pound cake so it tasted like pound cake with coffee syrup on top.
To their credit, however, they explained the steps to everyone during the cooking process, and encouraged us to shuffle around to see what everyone else was doing.
It wasn’t what I thought it’d be but I still had a good time. They tried to make it fun and interesting, and encouraged conversation, and gave us drinks & snacks. 3 stars because they did what they could given what they had.

I recently hit a milestone birthday and wanted to do something different & intimate with a group of good friends. I thought a cooking party might do the trick and I’m so happy I did! The only challenge is my apartment isn’t really conducive to this type of experience. I reached out to Nadege (through a friend’s recommendation) and immediately knew I’d made the right choice. She’s personable, professional, and flexible! I originally planned to host the party at a friend’s home. The friend experienced a family emergency & I had to update the location 3-​days before the event. Nadege didn’t break a sweat and even offered to host the party the following weekend if I needed more time (it’s the little things!). I ended up renting out space in Park Slope so it all worked out. I think there were a total of 15 of us (a minimum of 12 is required).

Dessert — Rum Soaked Fruit Ambrosia
Absolutely deeelish! And, the overall experience was a blast. I had a range of people there — some who didn’t know how to boil water and others who were more advanced — and Nadege made sure everyone got involved. I personally learned a lot and all my peeps really enjoyed it. Did I mention the wine was flowing throughout? Good times indeed! I would definitely recommend Nadege for any hosted cooking parties. She will not disappoint!

I recently attended a cooking class with my boyfriend. I had received a Groupon, which offered $ 40 for an $ 80 class– so $ 80 total. We had ultimately signed up for it based on the reviews that we were seeing on Unilocal,which is why I felt that I should post my own.
Perhaps I set too high expectations for the class, and am partially to blame, but I was quite disappointed. Don’t get me wrong– I had fun, but I probably would not have done it if I had known more about what I was getting myself into. Here are the things that I wish someone would have told me:
1) It takes an hour and a half from the UES to get here– the class is pretty far into Brooklyn The class is 4 hours. That is a total of 7 hours of your day. That is a bigger part of my weekend than I realized I was committing to when I first signed up.
2) The class is literally in a house. At first, my boyfriend and I thought we had the wrong place.
3) You do not have your own cooking station. You are chopping things up at a large table with about 20 other people. Then the instructor puts everything on the stove and cooks it. For me, getting the food cooked is the hardest part. I know how to cut fruits and vegetables.
4) The recipes are not that sophisticated. We cooked Uncle Ben’s rice. Yes, we opened a box of rice and put it into a pot. To make it «homemade» we added cranberries.
I should say though that I loved the instructor. She was very funny and knew what she was doing. Again, I did have a good time… but because I would never do it again, I am only giving it a 2 star rating.

i had the best time at my very first cooking party this summer. The menu was well rounded utilizing ingredients and techniques from all over the world. From the fried plantains to the Cornish hen to the freshest guacamole ever, I was in food heaven. Also, on the menu was a bulgar wheat recipe which was surprisingly addictive. I had a friend try some leftovers and that bulgar wheat dish was enough for her to sign-​up for the next class! Did I mention the wine was a-​flowing? Yup, all inclusive. You can’t find a better deal than that.

I was introduced to Fleurimond Catering as part of one of their yearly food events. I went to the event with no real expectations and left absolutely blown away not only by the quality of food but also by the variety. Since then I’ve worked with Fleurimond catering in two different capacities.
First, they worked with me and my non-​profit to put together a fundraising event. They were reasonable about pricing and their connections to quality establishments helped us find viable venues for our event.
Second, I worked with them to plan a pre-​theatre event for my job catering to about 20 people. They worked with me to figure out a menu that would meet everyone’s dietary needs and that was well within my budget. They were on time and set up without any hassle and of course the food was absolutely delicious. My co-​workers are still raving about the food and we definitely plan to continue using them for both big and small events.
Whether you are looking for catering for a fundraiser, a corporate event or even a dinner party, Fleurimond catering provides quality service and wonderful food. I honestly recommend them every chance I get.

Went to Fleurimond’s Thai cooking class in June and had such a blast! I am a lean cuisine kinda girl, so learning to whip up a spicy beef salad was such a breath of fresh air for me. My boyfriend asks me to make that salad for him weekly now.
The best part about the night was I met really awesome people– Fleurimond went out of her way to make sure we all got to know each other and we all went home laughing and smiling (prob because of all of the wine, but whatever).
Next time I am bringing the bf so he can learn how to make me something yummy :)
