Fractured Atlas

Putting up a show in New York City is a herculean task, as everyone knows, and having a titan like Fractured Atlas on your side can make it all happen. I’ve produced two AEA Showcasese with FA so far in the past 18 months, and I couldn’t have done it without them. From the supportive customer service to the resources they offer to first-​timers, to the ease of their fiscal sponsorship dashboard, I can’t say enough good things. Being able to run an Indiegogo campaign in conjunction with FA Fiscal Sponsorship is also a great advantage. In this economic environment, with the arts losing support every day, it’s good to have an organization like FA in your corner.

My production company has been fiscally sponsored under Fractured Atlas for the last year and a half. With outrageous membership fees and a recent increase in the percentage of donations they take from small arts organizations and emerging production companies you would think Fractured Atlas could at least afford to assist in helping these artists with sales tax exemptions for products and services. However, even though they clearly state on their website they offer tax exemption, they refuse to actually do so. Save your time and money artists! With the work you have to do on your own anyway and terrible customer service, it’s easier to start your own non-​profit.
As for the production and health insurance they offer? I found it overpriced at best.

I am the lead organizer for a grassroots, all-​volunteer community music festival outside of the NY-​area. Our event was first introduced to Fractured Atlas by our local artist alliance who partnered with FA to provide insurance to creative individuals and endeavors. We have found the Fractured Atlas’s online interface and actual-​human customer service (yes, speaking people still exist!) to be incredibly helpful and responsive. AND our event insurance rates were the lowest we found by far. Their willingness to partner with Indiegogo campaigns means that we’ll most likely be switching to the FA 501©3 in the coming year.
