I wish I could buy everything in the store. I’ve bought a few items here and there over the past few years and they are consistently some of my favorite items in my wardrobe. The quality of each item is outstanding. This is not a skinny tie, skinny jeans, tiny shirt collar, boy band type of place. These are clothes for grown men. If you are looking for quality garments that you plan on owning for the years to come, this is the place for you. I wish the price point were a bit more accessible, but you get what you pay for.

What happened to this place? I use to go to FSC on the regular. I moved away and on my visit back to NYC last week, I thought I go get a cut & a shave(this is three years later). I was surprised to see that they expanded to a larger space. Looks nice but it lost it’s cool vibe as a barber shop. I didn’t wait long and soon meet my barber which I can’t remember his name. My cut turned out really nice but the shave wasn’t as nice. He had little experience shaving as he went against the direction my facial hair grow in areas and he attempted to remove the little hairs around my ear and burned my left ear. I don’t know what he was doing. After that, I went to check out he charged me $ 90! It’s no longer that cool barber shop in the back. It’s become a hair salon that charges too much. I guess we can’t expect good things to last. I won’t be coming back. Too bad. I never received my receipt too.

About as good as it gets people. «Freeman’s Social Club is the kind of place that the fabric of dreams are made of. Tucked away off Bowery in the LES, this little shop is the birthplace of a sharp new look, the Bethlehem of the hem if you will. A smattering of vintage motorcycles, tattered Americana bric-à-brac, and perfectly patina’d objet d’art line the corners of the store as you pay homage in this cathedral of cloth(last one I swear.). The fabrics are nothing less than the finest you can find in the world; Italian silks, Tunisian linens and Japanese cottons in colors so genuine and subtile that Caravaggio would have used them as his pallet.» you can read«freeman’s social club. a perfect day» review here:

Small but interesting boutique men’s store. From suits to shirts to hats they have all manner of clothes for the dapper gent and can tailor most of their items. The selection and store are fairly small and prices are high though clothes are of good quality. Staff is very attentive and helpful as well.

A suit from FSC was my Xmas gift to my hubby. If you ever have a suit made at this place you’ll think they are taking you to Illuminati’s secret meeting room, yet it’s where they’ll measure you and where the actual FSC magic happens. And Alex is as British as it gets aka: *adorable*.

I just walked out of Freeman’s for my third time this week, without a haircut. And I don’t mind that I told told the pompous british receptionist to go F*ck himself and his two and a half hour wait. I lived above(literally right above) the barber shop for a year about three years ago. And back then you could call ahead to put your name on the list, now walk ins only. But how are you a walk in if you’re just making an appointment for 2+ hours later in the the afternoon. I’m a very busy male working in the fashion industry, the type of person you would think Freemans would like as a client, but it seems to be impossible for them to keep my business. Not to mention when I was there today to make an appointment two barbers were outside having a cigarette and a third was chatting with the pompous british fellow about his love life. All in all, I think the management of this institution needs to reassess the way they run there business, or better yet, be replaced. Also, bring back David. He was the best barber you guys have ever had.

Not the restaurant but a great splurge shop for guys. A barber shop is in back, so guys, make an afternoon of it and get your hair trimmed up and treat yourself to a little shopping. Great bags, snazzy shoes, sexy sport coats and collared button ups. Lots of trousers. Who says trousers anymore? They do, and i think it’s rad. The staff was kind enough to point us it the way of the restaurant. And they did so politely without any annoyance. If i had a guy, I’d totally spoil him with some wears and accessories from here.
