I really like this hidden treasure. It is tucked into the Morningside area of Harlem and has a working waterfall. The pond is full of swans and turtles. I didn’t give it all the stars because I feel it still has some work to restore it back to it’s original glory. It sits at the base of St. Luke’s hospital(be sure to visit the original wing of this hospital!) and St. John the Divine(another must see). I would have to say that Morningside and the Harlem Meer are my two favorite parks in Harlem for sitting and relaxing. Go up on Morningside Drive(up the stairs) to get a bird’s eye view of Harlem. A sprawling lawn that stretches from 123rd all the way to 110th makes it a favorite picnic/cook out destination. This is another city park that allows grilling but only on the northern end of the park.
