Not so sure about all the older negative reviews here — but we really enjoyed our meal here. The margarita pizza was delicious — lighter thin crust with no oily or salty taste that others mentioned previously. Also had a great local IPA on draft. Staff was friendly and efficient. If you haven’t checked out Girello yet, you really should!

The place is all attitude. This is the most unfriendly kids restaurant in the neighborhood which is shocking as it is also owned and physically connected to Walkers. And what Italian restaurant doesn’t have ice cream/gelato??? When we asked for ice cream the waitress actually made us walk next door to Walkers and order it ourselves. Classy

This is a hidden gem in Tribeca! Great Italian at a great price. Great service, fantastic pizza, and my favorite lasagna. I love happy hour here. Bartender Aiko is a cool dude. The chef Reagan, is an undiscovered genius.

Ate here for the first time this evening… service was great… server/bartender was really friendly and helpful. Got the meatball app… average…arugula salad… a little better… pizza was very good, would definitely get the pizza again.

We stumbled upon this location when we had meetings in TriBeCa, now it is a location that will bring me back. We arrived for a simple lunch and was overwhelmed with the quality of the food and the service. Let the staff guide you through your food journey, they are amazing!

I’ve passed in front of the restaurant multiple times, and I’ve seen that most of the times is not very busy. But today I decided to try for the first time. I went for lunch and order a sandwich, which came with a salad. Both were really good and made for a great lunch. The stuff is also very friendly. I’m definitely hoping to come back soon to try the pizzas

Food is expensive for what it is and distinctively mediocre to bad. Sister restaurant and bar Walker’s next door is far better. There’s never anyone in this one and it’s a mystery how it keeps its doors open.

No wonder this place has been in the neighborhood for years and always manages to be empty whenever my fiancé and I pass by. I’m certain that there wasn’t a single customer in the restaurant(there never is) and somehow we waited over an hour for our order when the woman on the phone told us that it should arrive within a half hour(our order only consisted of one pizza after all). After about 40 minutes we called to check in on the status of our delivery and the woman on the line told us «it just left». We live about 4 minutes from the restaurant so we were glad to hear that our food would be arriving soon. Weeellll, 15 minutes later we called yet again to find out when our food would be arriving. The woman on the phone told us(yet again) that the food had just left. LIE. We waited yet another 15 minutes for our stone cold pizza to arrive. It’s somewhat hard to find a bad pizza in NYC but Girello has mastered this like no other. Gross, gross, gross. Don’t bother with this place. There are at least a million other places in the neighborhood for you to choose from.

I’ve always wondered why the Unilocal reviews are pretty good yet the place always seems incredibly empty… so we gave it a try — just a margarita pizza and arugula salad. Neither was particularly good. The pizza was salty and oily, with a crunchy and dry crust. The salad just didn’t seem fresh. We prefer saluggi’s in the neighborhood.

Had dinner at Girello last night, the place looked wonderful from the outside, and the décor was wonderfully charming on the inside. Very romantic and date appropriate. It was not a busy night, and our server, though professional, was extremely sarcastic, which normally I can appreciate but it was just a little too much. We ordered the shrimp pancetta and then disappointed when we saw Pancetta was actually pork. Yes — we’re idiots, we should have known, but an explanation on the menu would have been nice, and a warning from the waitress would have been even better(since we couldn’t even pronounce it correctly). We also ordered the swordfish entrée, unfortunately both dishes came at the same time which was very disappointing. Wine came in thin water glasses, not in wine glasses, which made the whole thing feel a little cheap. Swordfish was underwhelming, Shrimp Pancetta was overcooked. Maybe it’s my fault for going to an Italian restaurant and not ordering anything with dough.

Overall; Mid-high end pizza spot with a great bar and attentive, welcoming staff. Food/Drink: We had sausage and mushroom pizza, served neopolitan style. The food was excellent and served expediently, granted we came when it was slow. Ingredients were high quality and fresh, and we were greeted with a plate of bread and spicy olive oil. Decent beer selection and a well-stocked full-service bar captained by a knowledgable barkeep. Service: Quick and professional. No question goes unanswered. Atmosphere: Welcoming, sparkling clean, and well-decorated. Nice wooden furniture, big shiny bar, and tiled floors. We had the entire place to ourselves at 5:30pm on a Saturday, so it was pretty quiet. Very enjoyable, and relaxing even.

I went for lunch on a weekday, its nice because its less crowded than most other spots in Tribeca. My friend and I got the prosciutto sandwich and a sausage pizza. I’d recommend the pizza over the sandwiches. Tasty, simple food. Just a nice spot to enjoy catching up with a friend.

Decided to try out Girello. I only tried the cheese lasagna. It was very light and not greasy but it did not seem to have any character. The cheese was good, the portion was a nice size, it tasted fresh, but it had no tang or interesting flavor. And the sauce was clean tasting but bland. The bread was some kind of white italian style bread which also had no character. There are so many good, more hearty breads in the city. Why cant they serve that here? I can get white bread with olive oil almost anywhere. The olive oil with the bread was good. The lasagna was very reasonably priced but I would rather pay a little more to get something more compelling. The restaurant space itself was very nice, sort of like an old style West Village café.

Great food and staff, classy décor. I’m from Boston, but the pizza here is better than our North End. I suggest getting in before it really gets discovered.

The office just ordered 10 Grande pies with loads of veggie and meat toppings, as well as 4 salads. Nice thin crust with no excessive oil. 80 slices served 37 satisfied people with nothing be great things to say. Pizza was hot, salad cold and delivered on time. Best in Tribeca by far, and no more expense than the greasy neighborhood joint. Thumbs Up!

Great place. Can’t work out why it’s always empty. The pizza is the best in TriBeCa(the only good pizza in TriBeCa) and the wines are reasonably priced. The apps aren’t bad either.

This place is in the smack center of Tribeca. Maybe not smack center, but off a really cute area and serves delicious pizza and sandwiches for lunch. The place is generally empty and is associated with Walkers next door. The sandwiches are huge and tasty – and maybe have a little too much meat for my liking. Haven’t said that in a while. Their wine list is reasonable and they will let you try anything by the glass.
