Worst tour company ever. Got stranded on side of road because bus broke down… very unprofessional. Never ever would we use this company again.

If you want to know pricing, make sure you haggle. As a reference, we paid $ 200 for six people for 48 hr passes.
I wasn’t impressed with this tour company. They make it sound like it’s easy to hop on and off the bus so you can use it like a tour or just as general transportation. Their busses only go one way, so you have to plan very carefully.
The busses are old, their staff is inexperienced and unorganized, and they provide pointless information while you tour around. Only about half of the headphone jacks work, too.

If there was a negative review, this place would get it. DO NOT BUY THIS. They lie and you don’t get what you pay for. The sales people lie about the bus run times… They told us 10 to 15 minutes when they are closer to 45 mins. Their bus equipment are sub par so you can not even understand what is being said over the microphone. The tour hours are really short in comparison to wait times which means you cannot really get off at too many spots. Really, the bottom line is that they are liars and the tours are horrible. I wish i had seen Unilocal before we bought. Do not do it.

I had the worst experience of my life using this company. I bought groupons for my family and went to redeem them. No one wanted to help us. When finally someone did, he explained that we should never buy the groupon because then they don’t get commission. When he found out we had 4 he got upset and said we should buy only one for 4 people. I said groupon doesn’t allow you to do that and he said I just didn’t do it right. After all the huffing, puffing, and eye rolling, we finally got our tickets. As we were getting in the bus he was asking my husband for a tip. He was upset when my husband didn’t have any cash. He then tried again stating we needed to give him something because he helped us. I told him that he made this experience so horrible that he didn’t deserve a tip. It was our turn to get on the bus and he started yelling at me in Nigerian. His coworkers were telling him to be quiet and stepped in front of him as if to stop him from charging at me. I was so upset I couldn’t even enjoy the tour. Not to mention that he scared my two kids! I will never ever use this company again and have already complained to groupon. I hope that other families with kids will never have to experience what I did!

I’m currently being herded along with 40+ others on the lower level of an unairconditioned bus. Which doesn’t sound so bad except that it’s 90 degree heat and there are seats for 18 passengers. Unsafe and not customer friendly at all. We keep hearing it’s a 10-​minute ride. We’ve already been cramped up for more than 15 minutes, hoping the end is in sight. Being uncomfortable, stressed, and sweaty doesn’t make being lied to any easier. Ugh. Our first guide was amazing. Nothing else positive at this point.

I am giving this one star because I cannot go any less. My gut instinct told me, like every other city I’ve been in, to go with gray line. But I did not. I went with this company and they were completely unorganized, did not follow through with times and schedule as promised, up to and including a line of over 200 people who showed up for a night time tour with only one bus. When in time square, little green vest wearing men try to sell you the package, run like the wind! Go with either bring wine or look into a couple other tour buses it seemed much more reliable. MY BIGGEST MISTAKE IS I DID NOT CHECK OUT Unilocal FIRST. LESSON LEARNED.

As we are waiting for the green bus we have seen maybe 4 from each of the other companies pass by Wish we would have looked into this first before we got cornered in the street by the sales guys. Looks like any other tour bus would have been better than GO tours. Very disappointed!

Obviously I didn’t have a great experience with Go NY Tours…
To clarify, while I was on the bus was fine, the tour guide knew a ton about NY.
But the sales guy — oooohhh the sales guy… boy did I get sold a bill of goods!
First, I was told going to the Statue of Liberty was included (not even close, you can get off where the free water tour docks but that only goes BY the Statue, and it’s a long water tour so you’d be on the boat for 2+ hours and the last one had already sailed by the time I got there, around 3pm I believe.
The only way to actually get to Ellis Island is the water taxi but that costs an extra $ 30+ and I was told getting to the Statue of Liberty was included in my cost of the tour I was buying (several other things were included as well — free bike rental, NYC Museum).
Next, I wasn’t told when I got off at the ‘Statue of Liberty stop’ that it was the close to the last run of the ‘day’ trip and that I’d be stranded if I didn’t catch the next bus — it was before 4pm at the time — and that the night trip not only did not go by there but also didn’t have on/​off privileges like the day trip did (it’s printed in tiny, fine, fading print on the 5-​foot-​long receipt they give you when you sign up, I discovered later). So I got off to make my way to the Statue of Liberty (which it turns out I could not do as I mentioned above) and stranded myself.
I ended up taking a cab to get back to a different stop to take the night tour and ended up just bagging it. To create the perfect trifecta on my experience, I called customer service and discussed the above issues — and was denied a refund.
So the sales guys will tell you whatever you want to hear to take your payment and I get NYC has hustle, but these were just flat-​out lies. They’ll also try to undercut each other if you don’t pay the first one you run into.
At the end of the day, the tour guide part is pretty cool. I impressed New Yorkers by the knowledge I learned — so THE IDEA of the guided double-​decker tour is great. But I would recommend avoiding the green bus!!! The red buses (Big D Tours or something like that) seemed much better organized, had WAY more buses, you could always find one of their people and I even had to ask one of them to give me directions to find the green bus stops, which he did cordially.
If I were to take another guided NYC tour — it would definitely NOT be on the green bus. I advise the same for you.

Here’s what you do. Prepare to negotiate. You should pay much less than they offer. Get 25% off at least. They’ll make kids free and all sorts of stuff, just be ready.
Anyway, our guide, Sterling, was really really good. Funny, informative, and personable. My recommendation is to start early, dress appropriately, and prepare to put your Fitbit to the test. Not bad, just negotiate.

Biggest waste of money! Buses are supposed to run on 15 minute intervals at the bus stops. We waited 45 – 1 hour for buses. Do not use this company. The red bus company had many buses running all the time.

My friend and I just did the 48 hour tour this weekend and we had a great time! We originally bought our tickets online, but later found a better deal with one of the guys selling tickets on 34^th. He walked us to the main office and we were able to upgrade our tickets. All our tour guides were very knowledgable. Our night tour guide Sterling was the best! He made the ride fun and made me forget how cold it was. I would totally recommend this tour bus to all my friends and family.

Horrible experience with this company !! I brought family to NY from South America (they don’t speak English) and I decided to take this bus because they offer me good deal for two days for 5 people and the most important thing for me was the multilingual guide system.
The multilingual system doesn’t work at all in all the busses, we been in different busses and there was a lot of people making complain about it. The only answer from all the drivers was: take the next bus !!
Busses really bad maintained and dirty.
The one star in because there was a guide guy on the night tour (I don’t remember his name) and the driver (the Obama guy), nice and funny people.
Language system also was broken in the night tour, so i have to be the guide for my family.
No more with this company, spend a few more bucks and take Big Bus company or any other companies!

Its Absolutely a big fraud service. Very corrupted agents and rude staff. They won’t issue or give tickets in whatever location they mention and you can’t collect from their agents unless you pay extra money to them. I had to dispute their transaction checking with bank.
Never try this!!!

I’m adding an edit to my review and one extra star. I emailed our experience to their customer service and they called me within a few hours apologizing for our bad experience. They have offered us some complimentary tickets for next time. If my next experience is better, I’ll edit again.

Hello, I was a customer and we had a tour guide name Witney. I think it was a terribly ride. some of the reasons why I think it was terrible because she didn’t really tell us anything about the places we went by. She was really loud and she was screaming and it felt like she didn’t know anything at all. Another reason why I think it was terrible because she took a break and she was smoking with 2 other customers and she took a really long time. Another thing she did on the break is she went inside a store and bought pizza while we were waiting for her and she didn’t even tell us it was going to be a break. The 2 customers she was talking to was saying bad language and whitney was letting them say that while there was a 10 year old on the bus so that the ten year can her those people saying bad language. Whitney point out something and she said this thing. Which i thought she should have known what that thing is. The only thing she told us about was the flat iron building and she said the flat iron building is called flat iron building because the flat iron building is shaped like a flat iron that you iron your clothes with. So I think she should had a better explanation of why the iron building is called the iron building. I almost forgot once she got off the break and came back up to tell us more two customers asked whitney where were you and she said I was nowhere but she was actually taking a break smoking with two customers and grabbing pizza. She also let two customers give her a packet of cigarets and she excepted it. She and the 2 customers that i have talked about in this writing they were also talking about drugs. Which I think that is very inapropte for a ten year old like me hearing that. Then me, my mom, my grandmother, and my grandmother’s border she came to new york city and we caught a new bus to go to time square. So are guider Andrew was excellence. He was much more better then whitney. He told us all of the stuff we went by. he wasn’t yelling. He also asked us if we had any questions which whitney did not give us an opportunity to ask questions. Thank very much my name is Havilah moon and I am 10 year old and I wrote all of this. I think the beginning was very disappointing.

This bus service was bad. I think they only have about 2 buses for the whole of NYC that’s how rare they are. When we bought the tickets, they said buses are every 10 minutes. The bus stops are almost impossible to find and you think you’re in the wrong spot as all of the other companies red buses keep driving past you. We waited over an hour for GO NYC on 3 separate occasions. They are always delayed and the ticket sellers on the street have no idea where the bus stops are.
You cannot even use them as a hop on hop off service because there is no guarantee when the next one will be. One of the tour guides we had spoke English but he was barely understandable and kept asking for tips. When we did the Brooklyn tour, our tour guide literally did not speak 1 word the whole journey. Wtf. The positives were that the boat cruise was really good and a bus tour guide named Marc was really nice.
Spend the extra pennies and get the other buses (red in colour) that are everywhere and run much more frequent. You’ll have a better time!

If I could give a negative rating, I totally would. 8÷4÷2015 I was wandering around East 42^nd Street when I decided to see if the Go New York Tour would fit into my schedule. I asked Elizabeth Conception if the tour would return to the same spot in one to two hours. She said no problem. So I paid the full price, got on and started trying to enjoy the tour.
The tour guide was very nice, so I am not blaming them, but the tour itself is very minimal as far as interesting facts. It felt like he would say maybe one or two things in a ten to fifteen minute period, just before the next pick up spot was. And there was a lot of stops. When I got into the SOHO area, I started to worry about when we’d be getting back to the starting point. The guide said it was at least another two hours (I had already been on there an hour and a half roughly), which would make me late for my next appointment. So, I jumped off the bus and had to call Über to pick me up as the driver and the guide didn’t know where the closest Subway was. $ 50 later, I got back late and missed an important meeting.
I felt like they were SO interested in just selling, that the sales girl just told me whatever I wanted to hear.
Also, the tour itself was just terrible as far as information and «tour» points go. Plus they couldn’t help me fix the problem by giving me directions on how to get back (or to Subway).

I confidently told myself before visiting New York that I would never get scammed. My family and friends even told me to be careful of scammers. I’m usually pretty good at detecting BS, but I have failed when it came to this bogus company. The people selling the tickets are African guys with their thick native accents and in green jackets (just to give you a description of what they look like — no racism here). The bus essentially doesn’t exist. I wasted an hour… ONE HOUR waiting for a bus, but the guys in those green jackets kept on telling me, «It will arrive in 10 minutes.» Thirty minutes later, nothing. They tell me again, «It will arrive in 10 minutes.» I ask for a bus schedule, and they don’t have one! I demanded a refund, but the office address on the receipt does not exist. The 2 phone numbers provided were non-​working numbers. It was a scam all the way!
Well, no wonder it was being sold for only $ 29. It’s TOO CHEAP. I was so upset. I managed to prevent a sale from their potential customers they «hooked» by telling them the bus never arrives and that I’m disputing payment. Ha, that’s what you get for cheating me a ticket! One of the guys yelled at me in front of them, «You go back to Korea!» I just nonchalantly told them I’m not from Korea and walked off. Karma works like a charm.
Don’t say you haven’t been warned.
Edit: The bus actually does exist, according to other reviewers. I just assumed it didn’t when it didn’t arrive every 15 minutes, as promised. Still, there’s no reason for me to wait 1 hour.

If I was to give this place negative stars I would. Literally if you come to New York and want to do a Hop On and Off tour, which I totally recommend as New York has so many areas and sites to check out, DO NOT, I mean really DO NOT go with this tour. When you think of a hop on and off bus tour, you automatically assume there will be tour guides who give you fun, funny, interesting facts while driving through the city, unfortunately this tour company does not believe in having one. All you get is a recording of New York History which is on repeat, and even that if your lucky to have a radio box which is working. 50% of them on all the buses with went on we’re not working.
I am here with a group of 8 and everyone of us agreed this was a big mistake, a waste of our time and money. We were better off taking a self tour and hitting up spots which others had recommended to us. You might want to save money and end up bargaining with the sellers and think wow I got a great deal $ 25 per person as oppose to $ 50, but now we know why it was so cheap. I finally realized, you get what you pay for.

This tour company felt to me like an episode of Seinfeld, I’ll call it Debbie does New Yo-​yo-​York! First off, this is NYC– you need to have a sense of humor about these things otherwise you’ll get into a fight with everyone you encounter!
First off, these tickets were given to my family and I as gifts– for the boat tour and night tour– prior to heading out I read the fine print carefully as you should with everything. I printed out the vouchers — the website clearly indicates to pick up tickets from one of the specified pick-​up location.
Here’s when the comedy begins– we went to 3 different locations and no ticket agents– it was almost like a scavenger hunt (luckily for us we were in a car), after the third location I finally wised up and called their office– «oh ya– we only have 1 guy working today and he’s on 46^th and 8^th.» So off we go to 46^th and 8^th– there were 3 guys there working the crowd– I asked one guy to print out my tix for me– another guy starts arguing with my guy telling him how selfish he is for wanting to print out all my tix — I get caught in the verbal spat until I finally break it up and asked him to just print out my effing tickets! And so he does– the argument was hilarious!
I dropped my girls and husband off at Pier 36 299 South Street– easy peazy– picked them up an hour and 15 later– then off we go to the 7pm night tour.
I’ll admit it it was a bit chaotic trying to get on the bus but this is NY man! We finally get on– the tour was funny as hell! When you get a crew of excited tourists and an impatient NY native tour guide together– it’s pure comedy! Debbie was knowledgable about NYC architecture and other trivia fun facts– she kept telling people to sit down– I thought she would’ve blown a gasket! I don’t blame her!
The night tour was cool– if you are going in the summer– make sure to get your ass on the 7pm bus ride in order to catch a spectacular sunset.
In the infamous words of Debbie the tour guide– find your ‘tude– this is NYC, Yo.yo.YO!

ZERO STARS! This is the worst tour in the planet! I should’ve read the reviews prior but I didn’t. No thanks to you Groupon! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND WALK AROUND NEW YORK… It’s better than taking this tour. AWFUL!!! And the «sales guys» aka hustlers… Smh.
The tour bus was filthy, the windows were all scratched up and foggy, the audio were not working at all. The live tour guide ummmm kept on ummmm saying «ummm» every other word, no exaggeration. The facts being spewed out were so totally genera and uninformative. She didn’t cover all the facts as we pass by each site. UNREAL! Back to the pre recorded audio guide– not accurate to the sites we were passing and it would skip to some random facts about Coney Island which we were not even in the vicinity of! Then it would skip back to whatever it wants. So weird!
The 2^nd tour guide (according to my son):
When I got in the bus at 10:00 am the tour guide was silent. Around 10:30 he started talking specifically to the tourists in the back of the bus, but it wasn’t about the history of New York, it was about his life. For the next 2 hours he has still been talking about his life, but nothing about New York. In that 2 hours my son fell asleep, so did I!
