Brought by a local. Not overrun on a Monday morning, nice salad substitution, tasty upper west side omelet. Big portion. Liked it a lot.

When my gf suggested this place to have breakfast with a couple friends, I was very suspicious of the restaurants name-very suspect, and i was right to be. The food here was awful. Service was slow, and the owner or manager went to every table to ask if everything was ok except ours ;(. $ 8.50 for 2 pancakes? The biscuits had the consistency of pudding. Why do people try to «fix» something that’s not broken? The sausage gravy was eww, and the scrambled eggs were not scrambled. The food is a great example of school lunch. I don’t understand why people were lining up for this place… Also, The atmosphere was dirty, like a campsite. Maybe that’s what they were going for.

My roommate refers to this as «the best breakfast she’s ever had» and I don’t disagree one bit. Everything from the juice to the butter to the raisins on my pancake were fresh and you could tell. The locally sourced EVERYTHING is a really great feature on top of the amazing food and the service is great. Will definitely add this to the list for every time I’m in NYC!

My friend and I ate dinner here for the first time. The guacamole and chips we shared for an appetizer was outstanding. Good sized portion, as well. The waiter was attentive – asked if we’d like more chips when we weren’t quite finished the ones we had. The main course was lovely, as well – comfort food, indeed. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that it is a small and cozy place, but it can be very loud. There was a very screechy table of 4 that disturbed us – small restaurants have their charm and coziness, but this is one drawback… Summary: Great food. Great service. No wait for dinner(Friday evening). but noisy

Took advantage of the snowstorm to eat my first brunch there, having lived 6 years nearby without resolving myself to the nonsensical long line of sunny w/e mornings. Yes the omelette is good, pancakes and mac’n’cheese as well, people are very nice, it is the perfect neighborhood brunch. Would I wait 2 hours to eat here? No. But I didn’t wait. So I might be back.

Oh my yum! There is a reason lines are down the street in a blizzard, although I wouldn’t wait on it! But, I live a block away, so can go anytime. The turkey sausage is my favorite. Bloody Mary’s are unreal, although don’t really go there to have drinks, just eat! Everything is good. They are known for breakfast, but there dinners are very good too, hidden secret… Shhhh… I love how quiet and chill dinner is. They play jazz and it’s just so relaxed if you need a break from crowds at night.

A more succinct name has never been given to a restaurant as Good Enough To Eat. The food is just enough to offset the crazy wait this place is known for. Atmosphere is cozy, almost rustic, and the staff was polite and helpful upon our visit. I had the corned beef hash which I was thoroughly pleased with. The potatoes and meat were cooked very well and seasoned just right. The two poached eggs atop the pile created a delicious plate. Her lox omelette, however, was pretty bland. People seem to rave about the strawberry butter/spread for the bread but I suppose I’ll be in the minority in saying I wasn’t blown away. Again, Good Enough To Eat is just that. In light of the slightly above average food and service, your decision to eat here should boil down to how long you are willing to wait. I would not say this place warrants a +30 minute wait, but you could do a lot worse in this neighborhood.

The experience here was surreal. The bread was microwaved and extremely stale. The wine was old as well. Serving staff was rude and slow to respond. The greeter was amazing and very attentive. He clearly should be working in a better environment. I asked to charge my phone and he quickly did so. They gave my friend the wrong liquor in her drink and assumed she wouldn’t notice. WRONG. They actually had a server go and get the liquor and came back with it in a cup… From where I do not know. The burger tasted strange and like it has been refrigerated. The waiter had no clue that the mac and cheese was considered a meal. The salad was covered in mustard. French fries were half burned and mixed up. The owner or manager made an attempt to fix the issues by providing a sample of a different wine. However it was not enough to save the evening. We were only charged for two drinks to make up for the experience. I won’t be coming back but I have a hilarious experience to share

Pretty decent brunch spot. I was visiting from NY hoping to go to Jacob’s Pickles but with the wait being 2 and a half hours we decided to head to somewhere good enough to eat(annoying pun lol) The waiting situation was the first I’ve ever experienced. You line up outside(In this case in 30 degree weather) of the restaurant and wait for the host come out and call for specific party sizes. It was about a 30 min wait until 3 spot opened up at the counter. The food was good! I got the regular Bloody Mary. It was flavorful, very peppery. I ordered the corned beef hash for my meal. The corn beef was tender and the potatoes/home fries were seasoned well. I also enjoyed the side of fresh biscuits and strawberry butter. Overall it was a good spot but not one to stand outside and wait a long time for, at least not in the winter.

Best bacon in the UWS, maybe the city. 1 slice = 3 slices of regular – get it crispy and you will literally be in Hog Heaven(I simply can’t help myself!). My family and I stayed on the UWS this weekend and found Good Enough through Unilocal and thank goodness – they make a breakfast we Southern folks would claim as our own! Locally sourced ingredients, generous portions, stout yet smooth coffee mean that we have come back for a second time and don’t expect to be disappointed(or leaving hungry)! Try the Lumberjack – that mesmerizing bacon, fluffy eggs, and pancakes(though sweet Marcus at the bar let me sub them out for the delectable Pumpkin French toast – such a good call). I had the Astoria omelette on the second visit – fresh local sausage, spinach, and feta – so fresh and the perfect fuel for a day of sightseeing. My mom had the corned beef hash and she raced about it being full of big chunks of meat and seasoned potatoes – a far cry from your usual canned variety. I have a feeling that anything you’d try here will be delicious and the waitstaff and managers will work to make your visit happy. Enjoy folks, and eat local always!

I don’t usually do this, but when I do. It’s important. I googled best omelette on the upper west side and this place came up. I just moved here and wanted an omelette and a Bloody Mary, I’m hungover but still in a cheerful mood. So I went it to this crowded cute quaint place and sat at the bar where there was ample seating. And after my experience I know why. This bartender just slapped a menu in front of me and didn’t even make eye contact. It was kind of like he brushed me off(this guy was not even busy — I’d understand it a bit more if he was). So than I called him over and had to ask for a water and also got a bacon bloody(delicious). He seemed irritated that I did not know what I wanted to eat yet. I ordered the Deep South omelette(so GOOD). The bus boy brought out my food, the bartender did not check on me ONCE. Not even a how is everything or can I get you anything else. Then once I was done with my omelette he placed the check in front of me before I was even done with my Bloody. Honestly, I probably would’ve had like 3 more bloody Mary’s and a side of biscuits if this bartender was more cheerful and friendly. GREATFOOD. Bad service today. No Bueno big man. You and your tattoos need to realize that your job is to make patrons happy. A little effort and a smile go a long way.

Very solid tasting food but nothing that makes me go «OMG amazing I need to eat this again!» I got an omelette that comes with two buttermilk biscuit. The biscuit was very buttery, soft, and not crumbly. I usually don’t like biscuits because of the crumbly texture which makes it taste dry. But this was not the case for the biscuits here. I tried some bacon from my friend’s dish and I like how it’s a thick cut piece of bacon. Cooked a bit hard on the outside but still a bit soft and meaty inside because it was a thick cut. I also tried a bit of my friend’s dill toast. It was a pretty thick piece of toast. I thought it was interesting that dill was incorporated into the bread. The taste of dill was very faint but you can taste it. The toast came with two sausage patties and poached eggs. The egg yolk and the toast was a good combination but once the toast is soaked in egg yolk, you can’t really taste the dill anymore. The sausage patties taste like it was missing some salt but the meatiness flavor was there. My favorite part of this dish was the toast.

When a resto serves up food that is on or below par with what you or your guest could easily create at home for 5 – 10 dollars less, it isn’t a good sign. Omelettes were bland, pumpkin French toast was dense but on the dry side. The stewed pear and cranberry topping was a lovely touch. One star for cozy-eclectic, but somewhat dull décor. One of the waiters was attentive, but another was quite curt with my friend when she patiently and politely asked for hot sauce. May come back to see if this was a one off bad brunch experience.

Place was full on a Sunday afternoon. No shock here. We took advantage of the weather being chill and sat outside. We ordered bacon n cheese omelette with a side of house fries. Done to perfection. Wasn’t sure about the alcoholic drinks, the bartender surprised me with his special, enjoyed it very much.

Is there almost always a line on a weekend? Yes. Are the pancakes and other stuff here worth an hour wait? Probably not. However, if you can push yourself out of bed early and come before the crowds, you’ll be happy you did. Order yourself a nice bloody mary, the lumberjack or french toast and go to town. The eggs are super fluffy and the french toast comes with strawberry butter. This place may not be as good as it was 5 years ago, but the food is still solid and for UWS, the prices are actually pretty decent.

What can I possibly say that the other 950 reviews haven’t? The Upper West Side omelette with lox and cream cheese was really good and I get why people are willing to give up their first born for the strawberry butter. Their pancakes were alright and I won’t front on the Bloody Mary with all the ingredients, it was spicy and brutal… I can’t wait to try it again. The service was alright but once you order your food, give your waiter a kiss goodbye. The busboy came out with our food and had no idea what anyone ordered, he just fired off the dishes to us and we passed everything around. Was it good enough to eat? Absolutely. Was it great enough to eat? Ehh not so much. P. S. Stop whining about the line to get in. Just like Obama taking 40% of your paycheck, you’re going to have to live with it.

I’m really happy I stumbled upon this place. My best friend and I came here after Jacobs pickles didn’t work out. There was a line out the door and we aren’t about that life so we walked over to this place and couldn’t have made a better choice. I had the Mac and cheese with a side of bacon and a dirty Belvedre martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives. Everything was cooked to perfection and I ate every last bite. I’m actually surprised the bleu cheese stuffed olives were here. This is the first place I have found that carries them. So good! Overall I will definitely come back. This may be my fave brunch spot in the UWS.

Came here for brunch, and the the name of the restaurant really suits it well. Most of the food here was good enough to eat… but not great. I say this because I actually went to IHOP the day after, and was just as satisfied. The menu items are too simple to stand out, and the only real notable distinguishing feature here is the strawberry butter, which people seem to go all gaga over, but didn’t really do anything for me(to be fair, I’m not impressed with the strawberry maple syrup at IHOP either). The menu also uses the word My table ordered the pork sausage patties, corned beef hash, and bacon to share. The sausage patties looked good, but came a little dry. I can see why people would like the bacon because it’s thicker than typical, and had a different flavor to it. The only thing is it was just like Chinese bacon, which is what I survived on in college when I was broke(along with white rice). The corned beef has was solid though, well flavored and very moist and tender(the meat and the potatoes). I ordered the almond strawberry waffles for myself, which came with some of the strawberry butter. The waffles were a bit disappointing; they weren’t fluffy at all, being somewhat hard and dry actually. I’d come again if i just happened to be in the area, but otherwise, any other brunch spot, or even random diner would satisfy me just as much, or more.

The wait was surprisingly not too long. And the food was fantastic. I got the Lumber Jill(eggs, sausage, strawberries, and silver dollar pancakes) and my friend got the Blueberrie pancakes(yes, that is purposely misspelled). Service was quick, waiter friendly, and pancakes were nice and moist and fluffy. One of my favorite things was the strawberry butter. I’m not big on maple syrup and the butter was perfect for my baby pancakes. Wish they would open one up on the east side because it’s kind of a trek for me to get there. Will definitely be returning soon!

We arrived around 11am and put our name in for a table. It was freezing and pouring rain, but we were told we had to go wait outside. They do have an awning, which shielded us from the rain, but we were already soaked, and it was very unpleasant. I’m not sure if this is a thing in NYC or it’s just this place, but it’s not very welcoming to customers. We were seated at a table near the back room and another large table, so throughout our meal, I was constantly being bumped into by servers. Space issues are something they really need to work on. Our server was an older woman, and she was really friendly and provided efficient service throughout our meal. We started off our meal with Bloody Marys, with bleu cheese stuffed olives. We had just come from enjoying Bloody Marys at Jakob’s Pickles, so these really couldn’t compete. The menu was huge, and I had trouble deciding what to order. I ended up going with the migas and subbing flour tortillas for their biscuits at the recommendation of the friends we were with. My breakfast was really good although I wish they would have brought out the strawberry butter with my biscuits. After reading some Unilocal reviews, my boyfriend settled on the corn beef hash. He didn’t seem too impressed with it, even though others on Unilocal had raved about it. Good Enough to Eat was good, yes, just good. There are so many amazing food options in NYC that I probably wouldn’t return. Also, the whole waiting outside in the cold and rain was really off-putting to the whole experience.
