Luis is very good at what he does, takes pride in his work. He added a belt hole in a leather belt I had and made it look like it was done from the manufacturer. Great work and fair price.

This guy is a magician! He did amazing job with all my shoes.

The gentleman who recently took over this shop is amazing. Took 2 pairs of frye boots there after the rough winter and they came looking better than when they were new! Took patent leather shoes there that had a gouge in and he fixed them beautifully. Takes great pride in his work. Can’t say enough!

I had a pair of nearly-​new Tory Burch sandals with leather bottoms, which I brought in out of desperation, because they were very slippery when I walked in them. I was glad to see that they were open early, and hoped that they would be able to add the rubber soles while I waited. Sure enough, the man behind the counter said yes, then quoted me a price of $ 35. I gladly took them off, and sat on one of the shoe shine chairs to wait.
Fifteen minutes later, he came back with my now non-​slippery sandals, which thank goodness, matched the color of the original bottoms. Out of curiosity, I asked him why it cost so much (I have been in similar situations and did not have to pay nearly as much at other places), thinking that I had to pay extra because I needed them rushed. He told me it was because the bottom was plastic and some other things which I really did not understand (there was a slight language barrier). I found this to be a little irritating because the soles clearly said LEATHER BOTTOM, and I doubt that a designer would lie about the materials they used to make their product. But, hey, I was desperate, and in the end, my shoes turned out how I wanted them.
I would have given them five stars for accommodating my needs and doing a wonderful job, but took off two because I felt like I was lied to and they were on the pricier side. There are a few other shoe repair stores in the area, so the only time I would come back is if I was desperate.

A really professional Greek guy named Paul owns and operates this place. This guy used to own shops all over the city– instead of retiring he sold all of his stores and opened this shop to stay busy. I had two jackets repaired here. I needed a new zipper on one and the other one needed a tear repaired. Both were done perfectly at a very reasonable price and delivered to my place in a few days. This is a great shop and an asset to the UES.

The man behind the counter, who runs this shop and does all the work, is a rare find. I almost didn’t want to write this review because I wanted him to be my «secret!»
I’ve brought numerous designer shoes to him over a year and every time he does a great job with replacing soles/​heels, shining and cleaning. My Louboutins get red-​soled, my Choos get brushed up, and others have literally been saved from utter despair. I’d spilled candlewax on a pair of suede Tod’s loafers and thought they were going straight to the trash; I brought them here and he got all the oil and wax out and made them look brand new again. Incredible.
I also had a pair of leather Seven boots where I’d lost a key design feature from one of the boots: a leather/​metal stirrup which gave the boot its «edge.» He was able to re-​create this leather stirrup to a T; same style, same fixtures, everything. I mean, A-​MA-​ZING.

Man, walking to work the other day I looked down at my shoes and cringed. These things looked beat up and dingy. Dull black shoes do not look good on a well dressed man heading to the office. I needed a shoe shine — stat!
Heading down 1^st Avenue in my hood I noticed a new store had opened up — Green Shoe Repair. This little shop does everything — sales, heels, lifts, orthopedics, repairs, handbag & zipper repair, shoe dying, and shoe shine. Plus, they have a large selection of accessories, canes, unbrellas, shoe shine products, laces, etc. Even though there is merchandise everywhere the layout is organized and bright. Free delivery too.
Took a seat at one of the two shine chairs and the gent running the place gave me an excellent shoe shine. You could almost see my reflection in them! There is something to be said about getting an excellent shine while relaxing for a few minutes reading the paper before heading off to work. It just seems to start your day in order, and there is something that feels so «old-​school» about it that I love.
It’s a nice little new shop that hopefully will do well in this area if the locals support it.
