I wish I could give this place a one star rating. They are the ABSOLUTE worst!
They are constantly losing our checks, they never answer the phone and the management office is only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays when everyone is at work.
Dorimar (the management office secretary) seems to be as smart as a doornail. She barely understands when you speak to her and hardly EVER answers emails.
Their billing office is the absolute WORST. Sandy, the lady who handles collections is a mean and miserable old bag. She screams at you on the phone and she’s always just so damn rude.
DO NOT live here.

For a huge management corporation, this company is the most ruthless, evil, miserable worthless bunch of human beings I have come into contact with in any management situation ever.
I should’ve known from the day I signed my lease with a moving van outside the management office and told the woman i was not suppose to pay a fee and her reply was «then give me the lease back and don’t move in» and slammed the door on my face. Obivously I had to pay a fee, and moved my stuff into my apt.
As time went on I was informed this builindg use to be Mitchell Lama and there was really NO amenities at all. The residents had lived here for 20 years and very all extremely nice. Eventually i had notes from lawyers put under my door and delivered in my mail about the class action law suit that the residents had against Grenadier Management for trying to unlawfully evict them from their apartments. This also meant my neighbors and about 90% of the building were paying of the rent I was for a larger or similar sized apartment.
As I looked into this issue more, i found that they had illegally jumped the rent on my apartment a few years back and began a lawsuit against them myself. One which to this day goes un answered. The BEST part about Grenadier is the good look lawyer who represents them in housing court. He’s really understand (said he never heard of ANYBODY paying as much rent as i do in that building) he offered me a solution that they would have to move me to another apartment that is more affordable and within the rent guidelines as long as i am current on my rent.
I was current on my rent and the lady at the real estate office, I think her name is Sherry, basically told me to f-​off. she said it was up to her and there were NO apartments within their company that were at the price of $ 1700/​month. THEY MANAGE about 100,000 apartments throughout manhattan. She said its up to her and she doesn’t have any available. I went to the office a few times and nobody would speak to me, I would sit around for awhile and eventually have to leave.
Thats all the money issues lets talk about the «management» issues. I moved in in May 2010, and my hydraulic cabinets were broken they wouldn’t stay open and would slam on me when i used them. I filed about 15 complains and when I moved out 2 years later they were never fixed. Managements said maintenance had to write an order to get a part and maintenance said management wouldn’t allow them to purchase the part without approval.
I had electrical issues the entire time i lived there. I had 1 – 2 sockets that just wouldn’t work at all times Including my microwave which forced me to run an extension cord across my kitchen.
My electric bill was about $ 350.00 month even when i didn’t live there for two months so I wonder if something fishy was occurring with my electric .
Maintenance could never seem to solve the problem.
I had my closet door fall down on me with nails exposed on my head and almost knocked me out. They fixed it by hammering my closet door shut. Needless to say that didn’t work too well so i had to repair it myself. I did a better job fxing it on my own and i know nothing about carpentry.
My bathtub drain constantly had a black substance that would come up the tub that was NEVER fixed.
*in defense of the maintenance team, they were VERY nice guys and I know they must deal with a lot of negativity working for this company and i don’t blame them at all, they were always as responsive as possible on their part
these are the few things that stick out from my mind, but there were many more.
I highly recommend not renting from Grenadier Realty especially if you have to deal with the office on 600 Columbus Blvd. But if you do and you run into the evil miserable woman in the office there, tell her I hope she rots in hell.
What they are doing in that office is morally incorrect, illegal and she is 100% aware of it. I am sure its much worse then what I saw from only living in one building for 2 years. Her and the entire company need to be reviewed by some type of federal government system because they are scamming innocent NYers and basically robbing them of their money and trying to evict them from their homes to illegally charge the new tenants rent and never fix anything.
