Disappointing. sloppy work. truck looked dirty inside and the man serving us wasn’t wearing gloves. Will stick to the brick and mortar groms downtown instead. two thumbs down.

Closest gelato to Italy as you can get in NYC. Loved all the flavours especially the tiramisu and niccola.

Great option before or after a park jaunt, or a museum visit.

Overpriced and underwhelming. Why so expensive? Because its near Central Park! Buy your gelato elsewhere and just come here for a walk.

This review is based on my experience today, 9÷29÷15 just after 4pm.
I stopped by the truck and ordered a vanilla gelato. While the guy was putting together my order, I noticed both the kitchen gloves he was wearing were dirty with what looked like chocolate gelato (nothing important yet). He handed me my gelato and when I handed him my money, he took the money with his gloves still on and handed me my change. I stood there for a few seconds and realized that he had no intention of changing his gloves after my transaction. You can wear the same gloves all day long while serving ice cream, but once you handle money, they are supposed to be changed. DUH. Since he was alone and he had chocolate on his gloves and I didn’t order chocolate, I realized he was not changing them. AT ALL. I asked him if he was going to change them for the next customer. He kind of looked at me. I pointed out that he had just handled dirty money and they were now dirty. He said he was going to change them, which I knew was a total blatant lie, since he clearly hadn’t changed them before me. As I walked away, I glanced back and low and behold, he wasn’t changing his gloves.
Who knows how many transactions he had processed with this disgusting pair of gloves today. I walked away with my gelato, had a few bites and was so grossed out, that I threw it in the trash at the next corner.
This guy needs to be re-​trained or fired. He clearly knows better or he wouldn’t have lied and said he was going to change them. DIsgusting.

Definitely worth the walk. It’s everything that u expect from gelato. Limited flavors though

Almost perfect! A bit too sweet (for someone who is used to subtle Asian desserts), portions are a bit too big (for a non-​American), and was melting too fast on a hot day so I had to eat it quickly, but still giving it a top rating cus its that good, especially the chocolate hazelnut flavor on a cone.

Fancy Shmancy Gelato Food Stand. Would it be uneducated if I called it an Ice Cream stand? Since, well, you know the feud between Gelato not being Ice cream and all. People take that stuff seriously man! Anywho, A friend of mine was telling me he had tried Grom Gelato before and it’s all the rage, so obviously we had to give it a whirl… On a cone ofcourse.
It’s smooth Gelato that is scooped and chilled right in front of your eyes by «Gelato experts.» At $ 5.75 for two moderate sized scoops that look and taste more rich than ice cream in my opinion. Not as rich as Mr. Softee, but still gave me the impression I was swallowing creamy ice cream.
Worth a try, but 2 scoops are more than enough, and get them in a cup. This stuff melts very quickly!
I got the pistachio and Vanilla mix. I preferred the vanilla, and that usually never happens.

I loved this place! So cute!!! And the price was not bad at all for the quality and quantity of the gelato. Get the Torta Siciliana if you’re looking for something unique. It’s their speciality gelato with sheep milk, pizzuta almonds and candied citrus fruits. Of course, if you’re not as bold, you can always go for the basics. My boyfriend got the Cioccolata Fondente (which is just a fancy way of saying chocolate) and it was soooo creamy and rich!

Amazing gelato. Get the salty caramel! You will not be disappointed!!!

THEY HAVE A MINI-​STAND???
We were actually heading to the mortar-​brick Grom shop but found ourselves walking past this ‘lil thing of beauty. It was a hot, sunny afternoon and a trek around the Upper East Side left us in bit of a gelato «emergenza».
Their flavors are limited but they have the basics: vaniglia, pistacchio, nocciola, tiramisu. Plus a seasonal sorbet. They’ll whip it into a milkshake (frappé), or drown it in hot coffee (affogato al caffe).
As evidenced by the crowd around the stand, ‘lil G was a nice sweet reprieve for all and a must visit if you’re ever in the area!

Just a food truck with minimal flavors – i expect vanilla, chocolate standard, chocolate chip & pistachio when I stopped, affogato. But nothing close to the full Monty. Exquisite creamy flavorful gelato if you are lucky enough to like the flavors on offer…

Wow. Amazing gelato. I actually found this place with sheer chance while walking around shopping in the UES. I figured, I have the time to go to the Met, so why not just walk there? Well, on my way I saw this random gelato truck. I proceeded to, of course, Unilocal it to see how it was, and it was legitimate enough to warrant a shot. One of the cool things about Grom is that the flavors offered change on a monthly basis. This way, you can keep on coming back to get that gelato fix.
I decided to go with a cup of gelato, split amongst two flavors. For just under $ 5, it was about what you’d typically pay for gelato. I went with the Vaniglia and Mango as my two choices. I must say, the gelato here was pretty on point. Each flavor was nice and creamy, and rich with flavor. Plus, where else are you able to get some nice desserts around 72^nd St.
Due to the fact that this spot is so tiny, you might just walk on past it and not even know. Nonetheless, when you do finally make your way, whether it be on your way to the Met, you won’t be disappointed. New York City has a billion trucks around the city, and this is just one of the select ones that offers up some legitimate food.

Hands down the best authentic gelato you can stateside. I have been craving for really gelato ever since my backpacking trip and nothing comes close to Grom. The prices are a bit on the high end but definitely worth it for authentic gelato.

Grom’s chocolate gelato ‘drowned’ in espresso is one of a kind. It made my chilly walk through Central Park 10x better.

Yummy gelato flavors at this stand location, but I would skip the milkshake. The milkshake took a while to make and wasn’t very good.

Grom’s gelato goodness makes it way to the upper east side. This mini stand offers a few of the delicious flavors of gelato and sorbet as well as some baked goods.
Found next to the Central Park entrance this location is great if going for a walk or coming out from a run.
A welcome addition to the neighborhood.
