I am so sorry to see this restaurant closed. We were in NY for our honeymoon last July and I would vote GG as the best meal in NY. Everything about it was great.

I’m sad to hear this place has closed. I stopped by once with a group of friends. I always remembered this place because I ordered the mascarpone pancakes which were amazing.

I had some trouble finding the Guilty Goose at first(the entire block is covered in scaffolding right now). It’s technically part of The Inn at 23rd(a bed and breakfast). I missed the sign for The Guilty Goose at first but it’s there on the door. Not very clear but you should see it. Tip: Guilty Goose is directly across the street from the Peloton Cycle store in Chelsea. This is a great little spot to grab some drinks and food after work. I went on a Tuesday evening around 6:15 and easily found a spot at the bar(the bar area filled up shortly after so get there early). There are a couple of pub tables in the front, parallel to the bar as well as seating in the back. While there was only one server/bartender that I could see, she seemed to do a pretty good job servicing those of us sitting at the bar as well as those people seated in back. Pretty impressive. Happy Hour Specials included $ 5 draft beers and select glasses of wine(1 red, 1 white and 1 sparkling) for $ 6. Happy Hour goes from 4−7PM but the server gave me a beer at Happy Hour price at 7:15 after I had 2 glasses of wine. Nice of her for sure! While there were no food specials, my friend did get a nice looking burger and fries off the food menu. I’d definitely come back. They apparently have a Bottomless Brunch on Sundays from 11 – 3! UPDATE: Apparently this is the last week the Guilty Goose will be open! Sad!(Week of 12÷14÷14)

I’m glad I finally got a chance to come here before they end up closing shop for good… this weekend. A bunch of us came here for dinner/drinks last night and as soon as we walked in, we saw that there was one person doing EVERYTHING — hostess, waitress, bartender, server, and any and every other position that is in a restaurant/bar(except for cook). She was a one-woman show and she was extraordinaire. She was the only person all night and we told her to take her time, and she was appreciative of that(and she was in a great mood). It’s a pretty nice place and I’m kind of curious to know why they’re closing. I believe there’s an upstairs, but we didn’t check it out. They have a decent wine list, but their beer menu could be a bit better — it was random and all over the place, and mainly had stouts/ales. They have a lot of veggie menu items, which is nice. I ended up getting the veggie burger, which was OK. It was really dry, but I liked the fact that it wasn’t your traditional garden black bean burger or a homemade mishmash that random restaurants do. I think there’s was homemade, but it was thick, had a crunchy taste/texture to it and if it wasn’t so dry, it’d be decent. It comes in a sesame bun, which I really liked. I opted for the market salad instead of the fries, and it was fine — your standard salad with some goat cheese on top. We also had the shishito peppers which were really good(and not spicy at all), and the hummus and chips. The hummus was thicker than normal, but still OK. Overall, it’s a nice place and you only have a few more days to check it out.

Randomly stumbled upon this dive-ish joint in New York. I was looking for a quick bite and Guilty Goose caught my attention. Good beer and wine selection, but food didn’t quite stand out. They did have some interesting combinations though: duck fat Brussels, spicy lamb meatballs, duck cassoulet. Most people were seated at the little bar during the evening time. Cute little place, but maybe not so much for a second visit.

Leron’s Lesson: Unspectacular restaurant. Solid food and nice service during brunch. Full Review: Had brunch here recently with my GF and had a pretty good meal. I ordered the philly cheesesteak, which came with outstanding fries. The sandwich was pretty good, lacking cheese though. They have a decent bottomless brunch deal that could be enjoyable as well.

I’ve been here twice for brunch and the food really is excellent. I love the apple pancake dish and they have a solid beer selection. I love the idea of a bottomless brunch with mimosas and craft beers as an option but at $ 35 it’s just way too expensive. Both times I went I felt like I couldn’t justify that price, despite opting for bottomless at almost every other brunch place I’ve been to. The service was alright the first time I went but it was abysmal when I went last weekend. I showed up about 5 minutes late for my reservation and they had decided not to seat my friends until I arrived, which was fine. Then we had to wait about twenty minutes to be seated which seemed ridiculous. We could barely flag down a server to check if they were even getting us a table. The place gets really loud and waiting was pretty unpleasant. We didn’t have a problem ordering food but the service went downhill after that. A server accidentally refilled our mimosas despite us not having bottomless(I’m not complaining about that, that was the best part of the service!) and then they basically forgot we were there. It’s not that we were just loitering and taking up space, each of us was still eating and then we really wanted a second round of drinks but no one ever came to take our order! We sat there for about 30 minutes trying to get someone to take our drink order before giving up. I had to walk around and find a server to bring us our check, it was a mess. We ended up not getting more drinks simply because the service was so bad. I’m not usually one to complain about service but when it actually impedes you from ordering and paying for your food, it’s pretty bad.

Decent spot we found after Chelsea Flea. Not the best not the worst. We had Greek salad which was good. Then pulled chicken sandwich. Didn’t have much chicken. I agree with others that the service is not great. You don’t need to make a special trip to eat here, but if your are in the hood and looking for a bite, go for it. Also, 35 $ brunch includes bottomless mimosas.

We came to the Guilty Goose for brunch on a Saturday and had reservations for 1 pm. We were a party of three and even though our third person hadn’t arrived yet, the staff seated the two of us, which was nice. The servers were courteous even though they were obviously very busy… the restaurant was packed pretty much the entire time we were there. I ordered the veggie burger with the mixed salad. The patty was homemade and delicious. The salad had goat cheese on it, which was awesome. Overall, I really enjoyed my food. One of the girls I was with had a burger and she said it was really good. The unlimited brunch($ 35) allows you to have mimosas, beer, and another beverage(I believe it’s called michaeladas). I had never seen a place offer beer for unlimited brunch, and I’ll definitely be bringing my fiancé back to have brunch here. We were never rushed to leave(there’s an 1 ½ hour limit to the brunch) and had a great time at the Guilty Goose.

I was at a local bar and wanted a place to eat so I did a Unilocal search and this came up close. First off the ambience and Decour of this place is very nice. Our server greeted us and Satus and we received a wonderful selection of craft beers promptly. For dinner I ordered the big pig sandwich. I must say the serving sizes are perfect you don’t feel like you over eight but the taste of the big pig was incredible! I also had the cream of cauliflower soup, and I sampled one of the other guests muscles. Both the food service beer and wine selection of this place is a big win! It was not too loud in a very good place to take a date to. I will definitely be visiting this place again in my future travels to New York City

This place has decent happy hour and nice selection of drinks/beer! We came here a few times to watch the soccer game and just hung out at the bar. I like this place since it’s not too divey looking and the bathrooms are clean and big! The bar tenders are nice and the best part about this place is that they have Lambic! They have raspberry, peach and cherry. I don’t see this often so I was glad they had it here since I am not a beer/wine drinker. Their beer assortment isn’t too bad either so that combined with their HH specials makes this a good bar to kill some time or just hang out.

Happy hour till 7pm everyday where the first line in the sparking wine and wine sections is $ 6. Quite a good deal as I have been coming back for the sparking wine for $ 6 even on the weekends! It’s quite a small space though and hard to bring a big group.

I came here recently on a weekend trip to NYC looking for bottomless brunch and delicious eggs benedict — the Guilty Goose delivered on both. Now the experience didn’t start off great — the place is small and they pretty much looked at us like we were aliens when we told them that no, we did not have reservations. They kind of told us that we could sit at the bar… or not eat there. OK? Although usually at this point I would just eat elsewhere, we were pretty committed so we went for the bar seats. This turned out to be a great choice. The experience completely turned around as soon as we sat down. The brunch menu is small but well done — they pretty much have a little bit of everything. For $ 35 you can get your choice of brunch entrée and bottomless mimosas for 1.5 hours — which is a great way of not having to tell people — no bottomless if you’re not eating. Also, a pretty fair price for a full meal and a good buzz. Both of these things ended up being very satisfying. I chose the uptown benny with poached duck eggs and a potato pancake and it was AMAZING. One of the best benedicts I’ve had in recent memory. I’m telling you — order it! It was so so good. Also, as much as mimosas say 1.5 hours, they’re not incredibly strict about cutting you off. I guess that’s in place more to keep people from getting rowdy/outstaying their welcome, but regardless we appreciated being served an extra glass or two. I would definitely return the next time I’m in New York — and I’ll head straight for the bar this time.

Stopped by on a Monday night with a friend and parked ourselves by the bar. Struck up a conversation with a regular who couldn’t help but overhear the crazy stuff we were talking about. A good time was had. They have an excellent beer and wine selection and some of their food smelled great. The burger in particular seemed to turn heads. I do have to warn you that the fish dish(whatever it was) smelled SUPER fishy and the odor filled our lungs for a solid 10 minutes — or at least until we got used to it… not a good sign. Also, the meat/cheese plate is SO dreadfully overpriced. We got two small chunks of comte and four meager slices of coppa. all for $ 8.

Based on reviews, I expected the Sunday brunch to be a bit insane, but it was incredibly enjoyable. I met friends for a 1pm reservations and we were seated in the back in one of the comfy booths. We opted for the $ 35 bottomless brunch, which is a deal if you drink more than 2 mimosas or beers. I had a delicious burger and fries while my friends both polished off their steak and eggs. Everything was yummy, and the service was great. Highly recommended.

Lovely to be given corn cakes as soon as we sat down. They’re like savory cheese & chive muffins! For our meals we ordered pancaked with caramelised cinamon apple. The pancakes with lovely — thin & delicate. I did ask for seasonal fruit on the side but that never came. My hubby ordered the pulled chicken roll with salad. I tried that too — the roll was delectable. French press coffee was pretty good too. Overall a good food experience — is recommend you try it!

We were not in the mood to stand in line for Sunday brunch in the city and the fact that we could make a reservation for a party of 8 here was a very bit factor to why we paid this place a visit. Oddly enough at around 1 clock, this place was not jam packed or anything and we had a nice long table with half a booth towards the back. Unfortunately for us, we were right below the loudspeaker and the loud house music really killed our conversational abilities. Getting down to the nitty gritty, we were first handed a plate of cornbread muffins with, wait for it, honey butter. Amazing! I haven’t had it in a while and it tasted amazing. The brunch special they have is a large plate and bottomless mimosas or select draft beers for $ 35. Most of us opted not to go bottomless and ordered a single mimosa. The glass it was served in was really tiny compared to the other glasses when we scanned the room but we figured those were for the bottomless deal. I ended up ordering the bacon rissotto fritters and the mascarpone pancakes which were both very good. The fritters were nicely fried golden brown and not too heavy and the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. I want to pat my self in the back for stealing some of my girlfriend’s fries and dunking them in the syrup that came with my pancakes. It was so good. In the end, we had a great time here. I want to give it a full 5 stars but that really loud music really bothered our party. We all enjoyed our food and the total ended up being $ 200 for 8 people with gratuity included. Not bad!

So we did the Sunday Brunch thing — and for $ 35 all-you-can-drink mimosas, a girl cane complain(except that it was Sunday and I wasnt gettin’ my money’s worth in fear of feeling like crap on Monday morning). Ive been here a few times and each time I loved the food. This time — I felt like things were just… okay. My guy got the potato-pancake, lox, benedict thing… I forget what its called but the dish was super forgettable any way. It came on two TINY latkes… and he’s 6’4″ and looked like a starving puppy staring at his plate. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with no bacon. again — just eggs on a homemade english muffin(which was super dense) and under-seasoned potatoes. The two lovely ladies we were accompanying both got the duck confit salad. which they seemed to enjoy. Again — Its a solid choice but just didn’t wow me this time.

*Alert, for bar area only* I did not eat here, as me and my brother in law were in the area, exhausted, and didn’t want to travel far, and we walked by, and said, screw it, lets go in. The bartender was extremely nice, and I was a little surprised at the extensive beer knowledge he had and list to choose from. Beer price, pretty good for the city, ambiance, awesome. Normally I don’t talk to people at a bar other then who I came with, but everyone who was in there(barring it was only like 6 people), ended up being really cool. They close early, and seem more of a place to eat. But if you’re in a short block radius, stop in, it’s worth it.

Dinner and drinks in this place was so charming and fun. Nestled below the Chelsea Inn Hotel it is one of the smartest things I think they could have done to get revenue. It was so intimate and cozy. To start off I had had the Chelsea Caesar that had Chopped Romaine, Grilled Chicken, Farfalle Pasta, Brioche Croutons and White Anchovies, Parmesan for $ 14 I had the Pulled Chicken sandwich with Arugula, Avocado, white cheese, and salsa verde for $ 13 it came with a side of fries which were very tasty. I really enjoyed my meal and think Guilty Goose is a neighborhood classic.
