My sister has been a customer of the owner of the cart, Eli, for years now. Last night was my first time trying this cart(I’m a long time fan of Halal Guys) and I was very impressed. After a long night, we made our way to 52nd and 7th around 4am and were greeted by Eli, who immediately cooked my sister’s usual, chicken over rice. It came with peppers and onions. The white sauce was great, the hot sauce was very spicy, and overall everything was perfect. Food wise, I was more than content. The chicken was actual large chunks of chicken and the portions were generous. It was very cold out. around 20 degrees Fahrenheit. I noticed some homeless guys eyeing the cart and making their way over, where they eventually just stared at Eli cooking food. I didn’t quite know how to react, but quickly Eli welcomed them and said«The usual? Chicken over rice?» They confirmed his question, got the food, and continued walking. I asked Eli if he just gave them free meals and Eli said he does this every night. Anybody who is hungry and in need is a friend of his and he doesn’t mind giving out meals for free. I have the utmost respect for this man as of last night and will be making the trip to Eli’s cart whenever I’m out late!

NYC«Street Meat» is definitely an acquired taste but it is so good. Get the lamb and mix the white and red sauces together for a spicy kick in the pants. Hard to go wrong with this for $ 6!

Best cart around. Myself and my fiends have tried many many carts(including the most famous ones) and this one beats them all. Their portions are huge, their prices are fair and the people working there are the friendliest. I’m a big fan of adding pepper and onions and they always have them(unlike many other carts). Their white sauce is fantastic and the hot sauce really gives it a nice kick. We’ll go out of our way on the trip home to make sure we stop here.

When you’re really hungry, this cart will hit the spot for only $ 5! They also serve up their wonderful-smelling, fresh-made food with a smile. :) They’ll often throw on some free extras too(especially if you’re a regular like me! Haha). I get their chicken(cooked with all different kinds of vegetables: cabbage, broccoli, carrots.) over salad with jalapeño peppers. They’ll also throw on this grilled hot pepper(not sure what kind it is) that’s sooo good(!) if you ask for it. They often also offer me some free falafal and/or french fries. I try to pass on them(but only to save some calories, not because they’re not good!). Sometimes there’s a line, but they serve the food so fast, you never really have to wait. Oh and their hot sauce is very hot!(just the way it should be!). ;)

This place has amazing lamb. It has peppers and onions, not the kind that they just throw in when they heat up the lamb, but carmalized onions and peppers. And the white sauce has been the closest to ranch dressing I have ever tasted. The rice was bland, but that could have been because the lamb had such a great flavor that it overshadowed the flavor of the rice. Good sized portions. $ 5. Note: So I went back here last night for some delicious lamb and it was a different cart. It was alright, but no nearly as good as H and U. And the guy running it didn’t really listen to the customers. He just gave everybody lamb over brown rice with white and red sauce even if you asked for something different. So look for the sign on the side of the cart that says H and U for the good stuff. Also, the correct address is 52nd and 7th. I tried to update it but Unilocal seems to take a while to make the changes…
