I’ve been a patient for several years now. The all female staff of hygienists and secretaries is always super sweet, friendly, and talkative. I’ve had mostly routine preventative care, but a couple of my silver fillings were successfully and painlessly replaced. They’re always very accommodating to my schedule changes.
One small complaint, Dr. Hara has a tendency to not look you in the eye, or perhaps a nervous habit of blinking her eyes or looking away. It took me a little getting used to because it caused a little bit of distrust at first even though she is incredibly competent and attentive.

My friend is the hygienist here and I love having my catch me up’s when I go. Not only that, Alexandra Hara is a great dentist and I love that she remembers you and is personable.
She is professional when she needs to be. I have had my old fillings taken out and filled with composite filling and she did a great job. She kept checking to ensure when I bit down, it was perfectly aligned to avoid any enamel damage in the future as well as discomfort.
My go-​to dentist for sure!

I’ve being going to Dr. Hara for a few years now and have always had a great experience with not only Dr. Hara but everyone in her office! Everyone is friendly, personable, and professional at all times.
Luckily I haven’t needed to get any real work done: knock on wood: so have only been in for cleanings twice a year but my experience so far has been top notch! If you’re looking for a new dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Hara.

I love Dr. Hara! She’s been my dentist for close to 15 years and I’ve only had good experiences. Her professional credentials are impeccable and she really takes care to do a great job. She and her staff are friendly and very focused on the patient experience. The office itself is clean, modern, and very professionally run. All told it’s a lot easier to go to the dentist!

Best dental experience I’ve ever had. Dr. Hara has a great bedside manner as do the hygienists. They go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable and not in any pain. I don’t ever want to leave NYC because I would hate to no longer have Dr. Hara as a dentist!

Went here some years back & had to have all the work she did redone by another dentist. A HUGE financial hit. 2 crowns had to be replaced (as well as a second root canal on one of those teeth because she did not cover the tooth properly & then to top it off, crown lengthening). I even got a second & third opinion to confirm the work had to be done. All within a year’s time span. Would have never guessed all of this at the time — I thought she was so nice & sweet & kind & that she did a great job– until all hell broke loose.

Dr. Hara is an amazing dentist. She’s gentle, sweet, and does AMAZING work. It’s nice when you can tell that someone in the Healthcare Industry really cares about her patients. I highly recommend her!

A few year back… I chipped my tooth and got a root canal on my front tooth a few years ago. And as the tooth dried out, it started to darken :(ESPECIALLY in photos! See it? It’s the one on the right. Since my sister’s wedding is coming up in 2 weeks, I decided to get that fixed! I went to Dr Hara, recommended by my friends with great smiles and she suggested a veneer bond.

Veneer bonds are good for shaping chipped tooth and cost less than a porcelain one (Those are $ 2000+ per tooth). The bond one is ½ the price and just did the job. I am gonna be smiling with more teeth now :)

Dr. Hara is the best! She is sweet, calm and always friendly and attentive. She will answer any of your questions and address any concerns you have about your teeth. The hygienists are all pleasant too and the equipment is clean, organized and up to date. Highly recommended.

I had the world’s best dentist in Boston from when I lived there, and after several years of living in NY I was traveling back to Boston twice yearly to see him — that’s how good he was. So, I was super nervous to finally make the switch to a NY dentist, but took the plunge last week.
Dr. Hara is freaking awesome. She is so personable and engaging, she’s completely down to earth, and most importantly she listens to everything you say. She makes you feel comfortable while you’re there, and she sat and chatted with me for a few minutes, even though she was busy, which is one of the most important things I look for in a healthcare professional.
This was my first visit so a few things surprised me. First, the hygienist offered me numbing gel. I didn’t understand if this was supposed to hurt for some particular reason, but it’s just a courtesy they offer all their patients because they know sometimes dental exams can be uncomfortable. I declined it, because my cleanings have never been painful, and I had also never heard of it before, but it’s so nice that they offer it up.
Second, they do the first round of the cleaning (with the metal picks and crap) with a water agent. I’d never had it done that way before, and I must say I’m a fan. I continued my life long streak of zero cavities (BOOYAH!) and overall had a pretty pleasant experience.
She also gives away goodie bags of brushes, floss, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc, which is always nice. I highly recommend her, great healthcare professional.

Dr. Hara is extremely competent and professional, and has a great support staff. I have been going there for 5 years now and I am very pleased with the treatment I have received.

I love Dr. Hara! She is very attentive and seems to truly care about her patients. I love that she is so down to earth and treats everyone completely normal. She also gives great dental swag!
I would have given her 5 stars, but she won’t take my insurance. So I have to pay up front and then get reimbursed, which is pain (but worth it)!

I’m posting on Dr. Hara because a review for her popped up on my home page. I was her patient for about 4 years until over 4 years ago. I only left her office sadly because her office used to require payment upfront and reimbursement from the insurance after. At that time that wasn’t so easy. Dr. Hara was FANTASTIC. Smart, charming, she took great care of the health of my teeth and kept them purdy as well. I really liked her and recommended her to a couple of coworkers who still see her and love her. I have a nice new dentist now, but this post actually has me pondering going back except I’d have to get all new x-​rays, yadda. Maybe not, but Dr. Hara really is great.

I’ve been going to Dr. Hara for 5 years, she and her staff are absolutely wonderful. They do excellent work and are clean, organized, and efficient. Dr. Hara is a perfectionist and is very focused on quality care. Everyone at her office is very friendly, they remember you personally, and they make every effort to ensure your comfort and minimize pain.
