I came for the shake… And boy oh boy the most chocolate of chocolate shakes hot the spot. So dark and so creamy and thick. Get there double chocolate and thank me later

I had often pased this place and always said next time, and i was so happy i decided to go in today. Casual dining spot, retro looking with super friendly staff. I ordered a classic burger, fries and a shake. I liked it, i would definitely go there again with friends.

A friend and I did a pretty total sampling of the menu. The summation is that it’s best to just keep things simple — Get a regular cheeseburger, regular fries, and a shake you’ve previously heard of. I’m tellin’ you… The regular burger is great, really good crust on the burger. And what a word… Crust. For a burger, it’s just this rare term that evokes a flavor that few actually realize. It’s the caramelizing, salty, crispiness on the patty that mixes so well in a bun with bright condiments inserted in there. The Hot Mess with the pepper jelly is just a little too cold for the thing. And the fried chicken sandwich can’t give the satisfaction that it should, not with the bland chicken breast. And the mac and cheese grill cheese is interesting, and better than a simple one, but noodles in bread is just too Ohio for me. And the jerk fries — way too much dry seasoning. But anyways, I’m still really happy with the place. It’s done well, prices are fine, and it’s nice and casual with the porch accessible without waiting for a server. Very rare to find a porch with no server to place you. I dig that. Some misgivings, but good stuff overall.

Ughhh hair on my waffle just made matters worse. Idk what happened wed. Morning but the food was sorry to say terrible. i was disappointed no burgers are served till 11am so we had to settle for breakfast items. Felt like a kid w. my chicken cut up on my meal of chicken & waffles. Excuse me for thinking i was getting a nice fluffy waffle with some chicken wings or a whole breast sad sad sad. n the sausage n turkey grits ick :(grits were uh gritty. lumpy and cold with what tasted like processed sausage. The red velvet Harlem shake was nasty. All these items were wasted n i love eating & hate wasting food but just couldnt stomach anymore. Would like to go back to at least try the burgers so hopefully i get motivated to.

I had to find a last minute spot for a large group, and Harlem Shake was AMAZING. The staff was super nice and accommodating, the food was great, and everyone had a fantastic time. We loved it so much we booked our next 3 events with them on the spot.

Expensive for the value, my criticism about Harlem Shack is how expensive everything on the menu is. They try to be like Shake Shack, overpriced as well, a mexican coke at $ 5., very average burgers, the jerk fries are Ok, and the mayo that comes doesn’t add much, I had the chicken burger, no much difference from one at Chick-fil-A, no silverware but plastic cups, paper trays on a plastic cafeteria like tray. No waiter, so little overheads for the owners. nice décor funky like, if you are hungry and in a hurry, Harlem Shack might fit your pressing need.

Best part is outdoor seating. There is a nice amount of space for NYC. The décor is great and I loved that«what’s happening?» From the 80s was playing. The veggie burger was just ok, not great but good. The sweet yam fries were really good. Service not great. Weird bus boy that approached the table pointing and I figured he was picking up dirty trays so I picked up mine to give to him. He just shook his head so I put down the tray and he wanted the menu that was left on table. Weird interaction. Just take the tray dude while you’re at it? My boyfriend said the people at the counter were not that friendly and he never complains. I would go back if someone I’m with really wants to go but won’t suggest.

Reliable delivery and rather awesome treats. I love the fish and chips(please make this a daily item) and the shakes are truly amazing. I can’t eat here too often due to the fast food nature of it all but if they had a mushroom burger I would probably never leave. Oh and this place has wifi! Yay :) I would only ask that they change up the grease for the fries. They are rather soggy at times.

I really enjoy the food and décor of Harlem Shake – the burgers are juicy, the fries crispy, and the staff is friendly. I usually get the Harlem Classic with cheese, which isn’t overwhelming for a double pattie burger. I also keep forgetting to remember to ask for lettuce and tomato, but that’s my personal problem. The jerk fries are an office favorite, and the mayo they come with adds to the spice. My only issue is that is takes way too long to pop in and out, unless you go at off times. The lunch line is understandable, but if you’re expecting a rush, prepare for a rush! Timing aside, I’m still coming back for those burgers, and one day will branch out and get the chicken sandwich.

This review is for their Harlem Shake APP and Delivery service. Totally incompetent. They had the audacity to deliver my order 2.5 hours after I placed the order on the app. I ordered $ 40 worth of food for my family and kids at 5:40pm on Sunday. Estimated delivery time was 6:30pm, no big deal. When I called at 7:00pm to ask where it was, they said the delivery guy just left, which was clearly a lie or they just have no clue what is going on. Then i call back at 8:00pm to see if the food is actually coming, and am put on hold for 4 minutes while they try to find it. No clue. My daughter goes to bed without getting any of the food she wanted at 8pm, then the buzzer rings at 8:20pm. I’m about to start yelling at the delivery guy, but he says it’s his first day and I feel bad for him. 0 Stars for the Harlem Shake iPhone APP. 0 stars for ChowNow. 0 stars for their phone answering and finding answers. 0 stars for their customer service and how they handled this. 4 stars still for the dining in experience still.

Harlem Shake really makes you feel in Harlem! It’s an older dinner type setting with pictures all over the place! They have a sit down counter top. The staff was friendly and helpful on what to chose! We only did milkshakes, I tried the salted Carmel and it was great! The sizes are awesome, the small actually being small making it great for a quick treat!

Delivery service is very unreliable. I have had a couple of orders that missed items in my order AND I have been on hold for 15+ minutes with someone forgetting to come back to me. I want to love Harlem Shake and support it but I think I will take my $ elsewhere for my next take out order.

Came here for a group dinner with friends. We heard how delicious the burgers were here and how they were better than Shake Shack. I had the turkey hot mess since I don’t eat beef anymore and I have to say DAMN! It was the best turkey burger I ever had since it tasted like a real juicy burger. All my other friends were raving about how good their beef burgers were. And you have to get the cheesy fries!!! They were super heavenly! I also liked the 80’s diner theme. The restaurant was clean and definitely crowded. Totally worth the trip to Hatlem. Damn now I want that burger again just talking about it… mmmmm

Stopped by for lunch one day after hearing so much about this place. The restaurant itself is unique and very retro styled. The prices were fair in my opinion for what your served. I ordered a salted caramel shortie milkshake with chicken fingers and jerk fries. The restaurant itself was pretty empty but I was still given a buzzer once I placed my to go order. My milkshake was served first and quickly but the food took some time. The chicken strips were good but nothing out of the ordinary in my opinion. The milkshake was delicious and tasted just like its description. The size was also perfect for me. The milkshake is filling and if I had anymore it would have been wasted. The jerk fries were the best to me out of everything I tried. But surprisingly they weren’t peppery hot as I expected. On my next visit I would want to try their burgers and I can’t wait to have those fries again!

Order Harlem Shake again and I’m sad that the experience yet again wasn’t pleasant. This time I decided to do take out. The order came and I was really excited to give this another shot. It smelled great! I love a good cheeseburger and fries. The burger came lopsided AND there was no mayo. I specifically asked for mayo on my order and there was none! The first time I went they left off bacon. I want to love Harlem Shake because it is so close to home and it’s good food but if I pay $ 10.00 for a bacon cheeseburger it should be right. There are too many other options in Harlem and for the money spent on an inaccurate sloppy cheeseburger I can go elsewhere. Idk that I’ll be going back to Harlem Shake for a 3rd let down. :( Harlem Shake is a small restaurant that offers outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is definitely appealing when the weather gets warmer. It’s a clean restaurant with several indoor seating options. The music is is slightly loud but fits the environment. TVs were playing the NBA games and reality tv. There was only one other couple in the restaurant however it took roughly 15 – 20 minutes for the food to be available. Not sure if there were several delivery orders that held up the food process or what. The wait was not a big deal but it’s worth mentioning for anyone that may be pressed for time. Now to the food and why I gave 3 stars. My food came out and it look amazing. It was hot and fresh. The cheese fries have a thick cheese sauce so you definitely do not want to order them if your stomach doesn’t agree with dairy although they are extremely delicious! I ordered the Harlem Classic which comes with cheese, raw onions, and pickles. It also comes with special sauce which is a mix of mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, and relish. I put the sauce on the side because I was not sure if I would like the mix. I added bacon, lettuce, and tomato. I bit into my Harlem classic burger and it tasted great. Then I realized there was no bacon. The parties are then and fused together with cheese so I even went as far as to look between them thinking I received a small portion of bacon. No bacon! Now bacon added to a burger is $ 2.50. Quite pricey considering the burger is just under $ 7.00. I take my food to the register and inform the cashier that my burger had no bacon. She took my tray, checked my receipt and was apologetic. She was extremely nice and pleasant. I go sit back down and she brings the tray with my food a couple minutes afterwards. My burger and cheese fries were there as well as a side of bacon! The bacon was sitting in a pool of grease. I know bacon is greasy but presentation is everything. I had to put the bacon on my burger and the reason I was given as to why was that I had already bitten the burger and they didn’t want to touch my food. This puzzled me considering they touched the bacon and the burger. It also puzzled me because they took my tray from me to «add bacon» only to add it as a side. This experience was not what I hoped it to be. It was my first time going to Harlem Shake and I am a lover of cheeseburgers. This visit definitely could have been better. I plan to go back, eventually, to be able to change this rating.

Eh, this place is just ok. Aesthetically, the food looks so soggy and sad. It’s not much better than chain fast food. Taste wise, it’s also ok. Not terrible, but not anything to write home about. The reason for the 2 stars though, is the fact that I received a gift card yet wasn’t able to use it on a delivery order. They stated I had to physically come into the store for use. What kind of policy is that? I bet they conveniently don’t mention that when you’re purchasing a gift card. I’ll eat here exactly one more time just to use my gift card and not have it go to waste, and then I will not be back. Food is not worth it at all. Oh and one more thing, their delivery minimum is $ 20. Unheard of.

TLDR: buy a special to save $$$ Really I’d give Harlem Shake a 3.5 because the food is good but the prices are a bit steep… Fun 70s, 80s diner atmosphere. I used to live across the street, so it was easy to grab lunch here. The«dime piece special» is a decent deal, burger, fries, and a drink for ten bucks. The burgers are good — Smashburger-type thin patties, and the fries are fresh. Nothing crazy, but consistently good. I definitely appreciate their commitment to using organic and local ingredients. That’s cool. However, after a recent experience, I can’t see myself buying anything à la carte. I went in for a small milkshake, paid over $ 5 for it, and the cup literally fit in the palm of my hand! That was pretty disappointing. So, if you want a shake, definitely just get it as part of a combo.

I enjoyed my meal at Harlem Shake. I’m so glad that I was able to dine here today. I ordered the Harlem classic with cheese which consisted of two lean sirloin patties with American cheese, onions, pickles and special sauce, an order of fries and a watermelon cooler drink. I don’t eat burgers often but when I do, my expectations are pretty high. This burger met my expectations gladly. It was cooked to perfection, moist and very tasty. The fries were good as well. Now that watermelon cooler was really good, refreshing and good. The décor was pretty cool, there are celebrity photos throughout the restaurant. There is also an area to accommodate those who would like to dine outside. The system works like this, you don’t wait to be served at a table but instead you stand in line to place your order. You are given a gadget that vibrates when your order is complete and ready for pickup. You go to the counter to pick up your order and return to your seat. This place gets crowded very quickly but service flows very smoothly. I really enjoyed my entire experience here and will definitely be back.

This place is always run over with people. On a beautiful Saturday I wanted a quick snack. I ordered the Red Velvet Harlem Shake and the mini cheeseburger. The order was ready pretty fast and the burger was nice and juicy. The Red velvet was a nice compliment to my burger. Sometimes you need some fast food indulgences from a local spot. I was tempted to get the jerk fries but stopped myself and will try that next time I am in he mood for Harlem Shake. My only pet peeve was that the ketchup was only on the inside tables. I personally think that there should always be enough ketchup to go around. I could car less about the mustard but I understand that they usually go together. So Harlem Shake can you please expand the condiments to the outdoor seating? Thank you!

The first time we drove by this place, the name, just conjured up, fun. Like some sort of neighbourhood hangout. It’s been a few visits to this city and today, I finally got my chance. It’s a come as you are place. Head to the counter of this diner, grab a menu then come back and place your order. It’s busy but despite that fact there seems to be room everywhere. I had their Friday fish sandwich, coleslaw and chocolate milkshake. I can’t say that the food blew my mind but the milkshake, that chocolate milkshake was phenomenal. Mmmmm I can still taste it. Although, the food was not great I do believe I would try more. The space is inviting. The retro space with pop music playing sure made me want to sing and groove in my chair. I was incredibly comfortable dining on my own here. Almost didn’t want to leave. There are touches of its history every especially if you hit the restroom and take a gander at the ‘electric dryer.’ It is a hoot! On my next trip, burgers, fries and mac n’cheese are going to make its way into my stomach.
