I love the clothes. Not only because Helmut Lang — although no longer designing — is a fellow Austrian ;-), but for the pureness, colors (mostly black but nowadays beautiful blues — azure blue to dark turquoise) and the affordable «Helmut» line.
I was happy to stumble upon this shop and the staff was incredible — this is something I really appreciate when in the US: you don’t have to look a million bucks to be able to browse in stores like this.
Anyhow the store assistant was more than helpful, very funny and friendly — down to proposing things to do in NY, restaurants to try etc.
Great experience and of course I do own a new Helmut Lang piece now.:-)

Really stylish stores. I didn’t shop in Helmut Lang apparel store but I have bought perfume gifts for men several times and they all loved and exhausted them quick! The pefume store is in another location near by separately from the clothing store. Very clean cut simple but sharp and mordern. The indented wall is lined up with their perfume displayed under cool lighting. Staffs are helpful — I think since it is empty most of time (?). LOL A friend who shops Helmut Lang loves dress shirts.

Ah, a designer who I will starve for along with Jul Sander, Katayane Adeli, Daryl K, Barbara Bui, Armani and at one time, Madame Miucchia Prada! Clean, understated and tasteful that fits me like a second skin…
