We just checked out. We were there during the big blizzard. One window would not stay closed so I jammed a book in to keep it shut. Then another window leaked snow in so there was ice in the sill. Now the good… very nice room with separate living area. Clean and spacious. When we checked in, the guy at the desk was kind of a jerk but when we needed assistance other times the ladies were nice and helpful. We would’ve liked a refrigerator so we could keep snacks once we hunkered down but no big deal. We ate at the restaurant and it was delicious! We’d recommend it

I stayed once, and found the hotel to be okay. I recently booked another stay, and needed to cancel it. I had an email from the hotel with a confirmation number. When I tried to cancel the reservation — a full week ahead — their software generated an error message directing me to call. When I did — I was connected with the same snappish person I dealt with on my first visit. She told me I didn’t have a reservation. I offered to send her my email with my reservation confirmation. She refused. I told her that I was concerned about getting charged for the stay and would have to report it to American Express if I did. She then hung up on me. Do NOT stay at this place.

This a beautiful, classically-styled hotel with very comfortable and well-appointed rooms. The staff members were friendly and accommodating, including letting us check-in at 10:30 in the morning. We stayed in room 1501. The room was beautiful, has windows on three walls, and kept out street noise. I highly recommend this hotel to those who want to be near Central Park and the American Museum of Natural History.

I would have given it five stars if it wasn’t for the people at the front desk. I’m taking off one for each of them. They were downright unfriendly every time I went there. I dreaded having to ask them a question. Otherwise the hotel was wonderful! I would just recommend being self-sufficient while you’re there.
